About College:

Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Port Campus is consisting of two premier maritime institutes of India, the LBS College of Advanced Maritime Studies & Research and the Marine Engineering & Research Institute, situated at South Mumbai Hay bunder Mumbai. LBS College is the post-sea training institute whereas MERI, Mumbai is pre-sea training institute.

Course Name:

P.G. Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME) [33^rd Pre-sea Training Course] Duration: 1 Year

Eligibility:

Post Graduate Pre-sea Marine Engineering Training Course” now known as Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME):

Graduation in B.E (Mechanical) Engineering/Naval Architecture disciplines from recognized institutes with minimum marks of 50% in final year and with minimum 50% marks in English language at 10^th or 12^th or in degree Exam.

N.B.: There will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English marks. Relaxation of 5% in English marks will be applicable to candidates who are native of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and belong to their scheduled tribes and who & both of whose parents were born in those islands & belong to the scheduled tribes of those islands.

Age: Maximum 28 years on date of commencement of training i.e. 1^st January 2019. Age relaxation of five years for SC/ST Candidates.

Medical Standard: Candidates seeking admission to PGDME must be physically fit and should meet the medical requirements as specified by Director General of Shipping Mumbai.

Selection Criteria: Through merit and interview for non-sponsored candidates. Direct admission for sponsored candidates.

Course Fee: Rs. 350000/- (subject ot revision by Indian maritime university, from time to time).

How to Apply:

Registration fee: Rs. 10000/- by D.D. issued by a nationalized Bank in the name of “Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Port Campus” payable at Mumbai.

Processing Fee: Rs. 1000/- by D.D. issued by a nationalized bank in the name of “Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Port Campus” Payable at Mumbai.

Application Procedure: Application form and other details may be downloaded from IMU/IMU-Mumbai Port Campus Website/collected in person from IMU-Mumbai port Campus (MERI), Mumbai. Completed Application form together with demand draft for Rs. 1000/- should be sent to “Indian Maritime University, Mumbai port Campus (Meri), Hay Bunder road, Mumbai- 400033” to reach on or before 30^th November, 2018. Filling up of application form does not guarantee admission. IMU-Mumbai port Campus reserves the Right to postpone/cancel the selection process for the course at nay stage without assigning any reason and no communication in this regard will be entertained. Indian Maritime University-Mumbai Port Campus, Hay Bunder Road, organizes campus interview for placement of cadets on ships for onboard training as far as possible.

List of candidates selected for the interview will be intimated through e-mail.
