About College:

Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) is an autonomous Institution fully funded by Govt. of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of AYUSH. MDNIY is a focal Institute for Planning, Training, Promotion and Coordination of Yoga Education, Training, Therapy and Research in all its aspects. MDNIY aims to promote deeper understanding of Yoga philosophy and practices based on classical Yoga amongst people. The main Vision and Mission of the Institute is ''Health, Harmony and Happiness for all through Yoga''.

Course Name:

Diploma in Yoga Science (DYSc) Duration: 1 year

Eligibility:

A candidate possessing Graduate degree (qualifying examination) in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. However, it will be 45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Age Limit: Candidate should not be more than 30 years of age as on 01.08.2018 (10 years age relaxation for in-service candidate, who joins the course on deputation through proper channel).

Intake Capacity: The intake capacity is 120 (Gen: 60, OBC: 33, SC: 18, ST: 09). In addition to this, 12 special category seats for students from Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands (02), North-East States (02), J&K (01), War Martyrs (02), Sports/NCC/NSS (02), Foreign Student (02) and MDNIY Staff Quota (01). Reservation will be applicable as per Govt. of India Rules.

Medium of Instruction: Hindi / English

Selection: Selection will be on Merit-cum-Reservation on qualifying examination and subject to the Medical fitness.

Fellowship: A Fellowship of Rs. 8,000/- (Rs. Eight thousand) per month will be awarded to the following students: Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands– 2 students North - East States – 2 students. However, the candidature of the above students has to be recommended and forwarded by the Health /AYUSH Department of the concerned State/ UT. Award of scholarship/fellowship to such selected students is also subjected to their regularity, requisite attendance (min. 80%) and discipline. They have to execute a bond paper as per the prescribed format in this regard.

Cash Prize: A cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- (Rs. Twenty Five Thousand Only) will be awarded to 12 (GM-6, OBC-3, SC-2 & ST-1) Indian meritorious students based on the outstanding performance in both semester examinations of the course.

Hostel Stipend: The Institute will provide a Hostel stipend of maximum Rs. 5,000/- (Rs. Five Thousand Only) per month or as per actual, whichever is less, for outstation student (other than from Delhi &7 Towns of NCR (Faridabad, Gurgaon, Sonipat, Jhajhar, Ghaziabad, Noida and Baghpat)) taking admission in ‘Diploma in Yoga Science for Graduates’ to the maximum 24 students in a batch. (Maximum 11 months)

How to Apply:

The Application Form and Admission Brochure can be obtained from the office of Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), New Delhi on payment of Rs. 500/- on any working day. The Application Form and Admission Brochure can also be obtained through registered / speed post on payment of Rs. 600/- (including postage) through demand draft in favour of “MORARJI DESAI NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF YOGA, NEW DELHI”, payable at any Nationalized Bank at New Delhi. Cheques are not accepted. Application Form and Admission Brochure can also be downloaded from website. In that case the applicant shall deposit Rs. 500/- at the time of submission of application. The amount once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances. The Institute will not be responsible for delay, loss or damage of the Application / Demand Draft for issuance of Prospectus after its dispatch from the Institute. The last date for receipt of duly filled in application in the office of MDNIY is 4^th August, 2018 (Saturday) and for the candidates of Andaman & Nicobar islands/lakshadweep and north-east states is 11^th August, 2018 (Saturday).
