About College:

Madras University, Institute of Distance Education (MU-IDE), Chennai was established in 1981 to help learners to achieve their educational, career and personal goals. It has completed more than 25 years of service in the field of distance education. Now the IDE is offering 22 undergraduate courses, 14 postgraduate courses, 9 postgraduate science courses, 5 professional courses, 16 diploma courses and 12 certificate courses. IDE is a uniquely designed unit of the University of Madras.

The Institute is providing quality study materials in self learning format to the students. Further, sincere efforts are taken to promote borderless education at global level through Tele- Education mode. The IDE has 30 spot admission centers located in different parts of Tamil Nadu. It has 50 study centres located in other states and has 11 overseas study centers.

Eligibility:

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for MA Rhythmology in University of Madras, Institute of Distance Education, MU-IDE, Chennai

Any degree of the University of Madras or any degree recognized as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate of University of Madras and 5 years of performance (or) 5 year of teaching (or) any degree recognized as equivalent thereto. 

Age Limit: Candidates who have completed 21 years of age as on 1st July of every year in which the candidate submits the application

Application

Application can be had in person at the Information Centre, University of Madras, Chennai-600005 on payment of Rs.200/- (Rs.100 for SC/ST candidate on production of attested photo copy of the community certificate)

Issue of application by post: Those who want to obtain application by post have to send a written requisition specifying the name of the programme together with a Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.250/- (Rs.200/- towards cost of application and Rs. 50/- towards postage) drawn in favor of "The Registrar” University of Madras, Chennai-05"
Application can also be downloaded from www.unom.ac.in

However, the cost of application for Rs.200/- by means of Demand Draft shall be enclosed, failing which the application will be summarily rejected

The filled-in-application shall be sent directly to Head, Department of Indian Music, University of Madras, Chennai-600005
