About College:

NITIE Alumni Association (NAA) has been functioning to maintain the alumni relations of NITIE amongst the past students. Maintaining a strong alumni relations program is essential to the growth and development of our institute. With this motive in mind, the Executive Committee of the NAA has approved a proposal to create a Corpus Fund from the Alumni of NITIE. The donations will be accepted for both specific projects and general purposes. General contributions will be credited to the corpus fund. The management of the fund will be looked after by a committee chaired by the director and comprising of two senior faculty members and two representatives of Alumni. To ensure that the alumni of NITIE continues to be closely knit, NAA organizes Regional Alumni Meets every year to facilitate better interaction amongst the alumni and to strengthen their links with the institution. Last year we had the Chennai alumni meet at the picturesque Buena Vista beach resort at Neelangarai beach. Despite a heavy downpour, games like beach football and Housie were played followed by an elaborate two hour lunch.

Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) 50th Batch (2020-2022)

Eligibility:

INDIAN STUDENTS

For all the above Programmes, applicant should have valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score as on June 15, 2020 with 60% aggregate* (marks relaxable by 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD (Physically Disabled) candidates) at graduation in Engineering/Technology. For PGDIE, applicant with any branch in Engineering/ Technology can apply. Final year Engineering/Technology students can also apply, provided they qualify the above criteria for exams appeared till date. Students appearing for final year exams in 2020 will be permitted to submit their result by September 30, 2020. Their admission will stand cancelled in case they fail to meet the qualifying requirements. As per Govt. of India rules, reservation of seats exists for SC/ST/OBC-NC (NonCreamy) and PwD candidates. SC/ST candidates are granted Central Sector Scholarship as per the scheme of Govt. of India vide letters No.11016/19/2005-SCD-1 dated 21.06.2007 and No.19012/36/-5-Education dated 27.06.2007 subject to the satisfactory fulfillment of terms and conditions mentioned therein.

Sponsored Seats: Few seats in PGDPM are available for Sponsored Candidates. Sponsored Candidates must be from reputed Industrial Organizations/Academic Institutions. The Candidates must have aggregate* 60% marks at graduation in Engineering /Technology with two years of full time work experience as on last date of submission of application as prescribed in the advertisement. GATE score is not required for sponsored candidates. However, they are required to attend a written test and PI to be conducted at the institute. Sponsored candidates should also fill-in the Sponsorship Form available on the NITIE website. No teaching assistantship is available for Sponsored candidates.

* For calculating the aggregate, all semesters’ Marks/SGPA/Percentage is averaged

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

15% of the approved intake (in supernumerary quota) will be reserved for international students in the above PG programmes offered by NITIE. Entry level qualification shall be at par with that of Indian students as specified above and candidate should have a valid GRE score. Foreign candidate should have a valid TOEFL/ IELTS score also. TOEFL/ IELTS score more than two years old will not be considered**. All international candidates will have to submit a SOP (Statement of purpose) and two LORs (Letters of recommendations).

**All the International candidates are required to have a minimum of 18 (eighteen) months of stay at the overseas countries as on the last date of submission of application as prescribed in the advertisement.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Admission is based on Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) with appropriate weightage to GATE/ GRE score (as applicable), academic performance and relevant experience of reputed Industrial Organization/Academic Institution. All the shortlisted candidates will be called for GD and PI at NITIE, Mumbai. Shortlisted International candidates should attend GD and PI along with Indian students or take up an extempore speech and PI through video conferencing.

Teaching Assistantship: Only GATE qualifiers will get Teaching Assistantship (at present @ Rs. 12400/- per month) and contingency expenditure as per rules

Fellow (Doctoral) Programme (FP) [Areas: Industrial Engineering, Operations and Supply chain Management, Engineering Technology and Project Management, Decision Science and information Systems, Environmental Engineering and Management, Organizational behavior and Human resource Management, Marketing Management, Accounting and Finance, Economics and Strategy] Admission 2020

Eligibility:

Regular Applicants: Must be Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering/Technology, Management, Economics, Commerce, Social Science, Life sciences and Pure Sciences with 60% aggregate marks (relaxable by 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD (Person with Disability) candidates) from recognized University/ Institution, CA/ ICWA and ACS.

Those appearing for their final exam in the respective disciplines can also apply; to be eligible for financial assistance, candidate should have valid score of GATE/CAT/NET-JRF at the time of application.

Sponsored Applicants: Candidates from Industry/Academia with above eligibility and a minimum of two years’ experience may also apply; such candidates, if selected, have to stay in the campus for one year for credit requirements; they need to produce sponsorship certificate from the employer; also, they should fill-in the Sponsorship Form available on the NITIE website.

Selection Process

Stage 1: Initial Screening and Shortlisting

In this first step, candidates are screened from among the candidates:

Who have submitted the completely filled in application form to the Fellow Programme and paid the prescribed registration fee within the window of time specified and

Who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the Fellow Programme and

Who have submitted the research proposal.

Candidates satisfying above requirements shall only be considered for further processing. Further, shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the evaluation of Research Proposal invited during the application stage. Candidates shortlisted for admission process to the Fellow Programme at NITIE will be intimated by email and/ or online notification only. Individual regret communication will not be sent to applicants. Shortlisted candidates will be called for NITIE Admission Test, Writing Skills Test, Research Presentation and PI (Personal Interview) at NITIE, Mumbai. Shortlisted candidates must attend NITIE Admission Test, Writing Skills Test, Research Presentation and PI, otherwise they shall not be considered for the admission process further.

Stage 2: Selection Process for Shortlisted Candidates

a.    NITIE Admission Test and Writing Skills Test All shortlisted candidates will appear for the NITIE Admission Test and Writing Skills Test at the Institute. The NITIE admission test shall have three sections namely Analytical Skills, Logical Reasoning, and Research Aptitude. For Writing Skills, Fellow applicants will be asked to write summary (150 / 200 words) of Research /General article.

b.    Research Presentation and Personal Interview (PI) All candidates have to appear for a Research Presentation and Personal Interview. Research Presentation will be based on the research proposal submitted by the fellow candidates. This would be followed by a personal interview which will be based on subject knowledge, motivation for doing research, communication skills, and overall assessment. Project/Work Experience/Research Publications would be preferred.

Stage 3: Merit List

Final merit list shall be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the different evaluation components such as NITIE Admission Test, writing skills test, past academic achievements, research presentation and personal interview.

Application Process

Interested and eligible candidates shall apply through ONLINE mode only and register themselves at Admissions Portal on "NITIE website" during the window of time provided in the advertisement for admission. Application Fee is Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates) plus bank charges as applicable. This fee can be paid through online. Application fess is non-refundable. Instructions to fill the application form is available at “Instructions to Apply Online” at Admissions Portal on "NITIE website". At the time of application all candidates should submit their Research Proposal (Maximum 1500 words). Guidelines for preparation of research proposal are given on website. In addition, all sponsored candidates should submit the Sponsorship Certificate.

Eligibility 

Institute uses CAT 2019 (Common Admission Test) scores for shortlisting/selecting the candidates for PGDIM and PGDISEM programmes. The candidates should follow the CAT 2019 advertisement of IIMs. However, IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of NITIE Programmes.

ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION:

INDIAN STUDENTS

Engineering/Technology graduates in any branch with aggregate* 60% marks (relaxation of 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD (Persons with disabilities) candidates) and a valid CAT score. The reservation of seats exists for SC/ST/OBC-NC (Non-Creamy) and PwD candidates as per Govt. of India rules.

Final year Engineering/Technology candidates can also apply, provided they qualify the above criteria for exams appeared till date. Students appearing for final year exams in 2020 will be permitted to submit their result by September 30, 2020. Their admission will stand cancelled in case they fail to meet the qualifying requirements.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview at NITIE, Mumbai.

SC/ST candidates are granted Central Sector Scholarship as per the scheme of Govt. of India vide letters No.11016/19/2005.SCD-1 dated 21.06.2007 & No.19012/36/-5-Education dated 27.06.2007 subject to the satisfactory fulfillment of terms and conditions mentioned therein.
