About College:

The Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior was established by the Ministry of Education & Culture, Government of India as Lakshmibai College of Physical Education (LCPE) in August 1957, the centenary year of the War of Independence and located at Gwalior, where Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, a valiant heroine of the war, had laid down her life during the First Freedom Struggle in 1857.

The Institute started as an affiliated college of the Vikram University, Ujjain and then came to the folds of Jiwaji University, Gwalior in 1964. The Institute was given the status of National importance, and hence it was renamed as Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) in1973. In recognition of its unique status and character and to facilitate its further growth, the college was conferred the status of an ’Autonomous College’ of Jiwaji University, Gwalior in 1982.

In further recognition of the unique educational services rendered by the institute in the field of Physical Education, Sports and Research, the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development conferred the status of a “Deemed to be University” in September 1995 under Section 3 of U.G.C. Act, 1956 vide notification no. F. 9-14/92-U.3 dated 21.09.1995 Hence, Institute was again renamed as Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE). The Institute is the first “Deemed to be University” in the field of Physical Education in India and enjoys a unique place of its kind in South Asia.

B.A. (Program) in Sports & Performance (only for Elite Indian Sportsperson)

Diploma in Sports Coaching (DSC)* (Athletics, Basketball, Football and Volleyball) (only for defense and para-military personnels)

Diploma in Sports Event Management (only for Indian Nationals)

How to Apply:

Application for admission shall be made online through the Institute website or through www.mponline.gov.in. Detailed information is available in the prospectus and prospectus you can download from the college Website. The fee for online application is payable through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card or Kiosk of MP Online only

Online application and testing fee is payable through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card or Kiosk of MP Online only and the course and admission center wise fee is as under:

(i) In addition to the above fee, the portal charges of Rs. 300/- will be payable to MP Online for each online application.

(ii) The candidates qualifying for counseling in B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. courses will be required to register themselves for counseling with a fee of Rs. 1000/- (adjustable in Institute fee) and portal charges of Rs. 300/- which will be payable separately.

(iii) International/NRI candidates have to deposit Rs. 5,000/- (INR) for the courses as testing fee.

Offline application and testing fee for Diploma in Sports Coaching (DSC) is Rs. 500/-. Candidates can deposit the fee through Internet Banking/NEFT/ IMPS as per detail given below:-

FOREIGN NATIONALS/NRI CANDIDATES

Foreign Nationals/NRI candidates applying through Proper Channels/Diplomatic Channels i.e. through concerned Embassy or Indian Council for Cultural Relations shall only be admitted on the basis of their credentials, attainment of minimum qualifying marks in Entrance Test and meeting acceptable standards in medical examination. For details, please refer to Guidelines for Admission of Foreign Nationals/NRI Students at www.lnipe.edu.in. At the time of registration, candidates need to submit NOC from their respective embassy.
