The RGNIYD is a pioneering institute in youth work in India. It strives to bring about empowerment of the young people through a set of meticulously designed training and academic programmes and activities. The five MA Programmes offered by the university are unique in terms of content and structure and first of their kind. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, they intend to equip the students with competencies and theoretical knowledge about youth work and contemporary issues. A judicious blend of scholarly pursuit and field practicum, each M.AProgramme moulds the learners into professionals in youth development. The RGNIYD is located in a sprawling campus at Sriperumbudur at a distance of 39 kms from Chennai Railway Station with state-of-the-art infrastructure and stimulating learning environment. The institute offers ample scope for holistic development of the students. Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks (For SC/ST candidates with minimum of 40 percent marks) in any discipline from a recognised university. For M.Sc. Counselling Psychology the applicant should have studied a minimum of 2 papers in Psychology at the Undergraduate level.
Admission for all the above Master’s degree programmes shall be based on the qualifying marks in the under graduate programme / entrance test/ group discussion and other methods as prescribed by the Departments.
Reservation of seats as per the Government of India/UGC norms. Tuition fee exempted for SC/ST students.

Rules of Reservation: ATDC follows suo moto Govt. of India's reservation rules broadly for the differently abled.
