Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Eligibility:
A three-year bachelor's degree (10+2+3) or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. 

Candidates appearing in the final year of the Bachelor's Degree can also apply provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by September 20, 2019. They should have appeared in all the examinations of their graduation by the time of commencement of the programme. The candidates failing to meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be asked to withdraw from the programme. The tuition fee paid by such candidates will be forfeited unless such vacant seats are filled by other candidates.

How to Apply:

Application Procedure: Application and Entrance Test (Common Admission Test)

Entrance Test: Applicants are required to appear for the Common Admission Test [CAT 2018] conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIM). The CAT examination conducted at different centres all over the country on 25th November 2018 [refer CAT Bulletin for further details at https://iimcat.ac.in/ The candidates aspiring for admissions at the Institute of Management, Nirma University are required to apply to the Institute separately. The Institute will receive the test scores from IIM for those candidates applied to the Institute. 

IIM, have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
Foreign students/NRI/Person of Indian origin/Gulf Countries and South Est Asia candidates can be considered for admission on the basis of their GMAT scores also [not taken before July 2017].

However, NRI sponsored candidates will be considered for admission only on the basis of CAT-2018 scores. GMAT scores will not be considered for NRI sponsored categories.

Application Form:

Online Application Form: Applicants should complete the online application form through visit the college website with non-refundable admission processing fee of Rs. 1500/- or US $35. The payment should be made online by credit card/debit card/net banking.

Candidates applying under categories such  NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign students/Person of Indian origin holding foreign passport/Gulf Countries and South East Asia candidates should make non-refundable admission processing fee of Rs. 6000/- or US $135. 

A candidate who has applied for admission under general category can convert the application to any other category in which she or he is eligible. In such case, the candidate is required to make a payment of an additional processing fee of Rs. 4500/- or US$ 100 and submit it along with a written application referring the original Application Form No. on or before the last date.

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS were set up by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007. Their mandate is to train scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and for providing input to scientific programmes of Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country. NEST 2019 will be conducted in around 91 cities [see list through the website] across India. The brochure gives the detailed procedure for applying for the test, syllabus of the test and various dead lines.

NISER, Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai are in compliance with the UGC and Govt. of India guidelines on anti-ragging. Ragging in any form is a punishable offense and hence is totally prohibited on these campuses. NISER established by the Department of Atomic Energy, strives to become a citadel for basic sciences and allied subjects in terms of teaching and research. Its vision includes imparting high-quality science education in a vibrant academic ambiance to the bright, motivated students, by a faculty of distinguished scientists and teachers. The curriculum is amply supported by a strong visitor's programme by accomplished scientists from India and abroad.

NISER offers a 5 year integrated M.Sc. programme in Biological, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical sciences. NISER functions from its own campus at Jatni. Degrees at NISER will be awarded by the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a deemed-to-be University within the Department of Atomic Energy.

There are 200+2 seats for 2019 batch, including reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC/PD candidates and two seats for candidates from the state of J&K as per Government norms. To avail reserved seats under OBC category the OBC (NCL) certificate must have been issued on or after June 01, 2018. Further details about the institute are available on the NISER website. NEST 2019 examination will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT/online exam)

Eligibility:

Candidates must qualify all four eligibility criteria listed below:

·         Candidates in General and OBC category should be born on or after August 01, 1999. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Physically Disabled (PD) candidates.

·         Class XII qualifying examination should be passed in either 2017 or 2018. Candidates appearing in 2019 are also eligible. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the respective Admission Committees will be final.)

·         At least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII (or equivalent) examination from any recognized Board in India. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Persons with Disability (PD), the minimum requirement is 55%.

·         Candidate should secure a position in the NEST merit list.

How to Apply:

To apply for NEST 2019, candidates must fill–up the online application form through www.nestexam.in on or after January 07, 2019. Candidates are strongly advised to read through the detailed online application procedure available on the website (click on ‘How to Apply online’). Online application process closes on March 11, 2019. Application can be

Submitted only through NEST 2019 website. There is no other mode of application submission. Login credentials for logging into application submission and fee payment portals will be provided upon online registration.

Application Fee: The application fee for the male candidates of General and OBC categories is Rs. 1,200/–. The application fee for candidates in the SC/ST/PwD categories and for all female candidates is Rs. 600/–. Payments can be made using credit card/debit

card/net–banking through online payment gateway.

Candidates need not send any document to NEST office in the entire application process. Please refer to the instruction sheet (the ‘How to Apply Online’ tab on website) for details regarding application process.

Admit card: The admit card for NEST 2019 will be available for downloading from April 24, 2019. Admit cards will NOT be dispatched to any applicant. Applicants must download their admit cards from NEST website (after login). The download link will be available only till the day of examination.

About College:

IRMA was established in 1979 at Anand, Gujarat with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), the Government of India, Government of Gujarat, the erstwhile Indian Dairy Corporation and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The rationale behind its installation had to do with providing management education, training, research and consultancy support to co-operatives and rural development organisations in India.

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility:

·         Candidates should be graduates from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having 50 percent (45 percent for SC/ ST/ DAP) aggregate marks or an equivalent GPA from recognized university/ institution at the graduation level are eligible to apply.

·         Applicants, who expect to fulfill the eligibility requirements before June 2019 may also apply.

·         There is no age limit for the admission in PGDRM of IRMA.

Selection Process

·         RMA would short list candidates on the bases of CAT 2018 and XAT 2019 scores.

·         Short listed candidates will be called for selection process at IRMA where they will have to take the IRMA Social Awareness Test 2019 (IRMA SAT 2019), Group Activity and Personal Interview.

·         For Admissions 2019, IRMA will be giving two types of calls to the prospective candidates:

·         Profile Based Calls

·         Non-Profile Based Calls

·         Candidates who score above 80 percentile in CAT 2018/XAT 2019 and fall in the Profile based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMA SAT and GA and PI process.

·         Candidates who score above 85 percentile in CAT 2018/XAT 2019 and fall in the Non-Profile based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMA SAT and GA and PI process.

·         Both IRMA SAT 2019 and GA and PI process will be conducted at IRMA for shortlisted candidates.

·         IIMs & XLRI have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of academic programs at IRMA.

Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM)Approved by AICTE [18th Batch]

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the FPRM 2019 programme an applicant must satisfy the following two conditions:

Anybody with a postgraduate or postgraduate equivalent degree/diploma from a recognized university or institution in any discipline with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade can apply. (5% less for those eligible for reservations). Those expecting to complete the final exams of these degrees by June 20, 2019 may also apply.

Qualifying Exams: Having valid scores/results of the last five years in any of the following standard qualifying exams or tests.

i) CAT/XAT

ii) GMAT/GRE

iii) UGC-JRF/NET

iv) CSIR-JRF/NET

v) ICAR-SRF

vi) ICAR/ASRB-NET

vii) GATE

·         The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned university or institution. In case the university/institution does not have a scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence will be established by IRMA by dividing the obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100. Applicants, who expect to fulfill the eligibility requirements before June 20, 2019, are encouraged to apply.

·         The cut-off period for validity of the qualifying exam or test score is five years preceding the last date specified for the submission of application form to FPRM. Valid scores obtained from February 20, 2014 onwards in all the specified qualifying exams are eligible.

·         Those with PGDRM from IRMA and PGP from any of the IIMs (including Agri-Business Management) are exempted from the above qualifying tests or validity period.

·         IRMA follows the statutory reservation policy of Government of India. Seats not filled by candidates of the reserved category will be offered to the general category.

·         Merely fulfilling eligibility criteria may not entitle a candidate for a personal interview or automatic admission to FPRM.

Research Proposal:

All eligible applicants must submit along with their application a preliminary research proposal of about 2000 words. The proposal should cover topic/problem of the proposed research, its relevance, objectives and methodology of the study, and expected results or findings.

Selection Process

The applications will be screened by the designated selection committee of IRMA on the basis of multiple parameters like academic qualification, test scores, research proposal, and reservation. The selection committee will arrive at screening and cut-off criteria depending on the response. Those found eligible as per screening will be called for the personal interview (PI). The final selection will consist of presentation of the research proposal and personal interview and will focus on assessing research aptitude, subject knowledge/clarity, analytical abilities, general personality, and perseverance of the candidate. The selection committee, if necessary, may conduct a short written test for those called for PI to assess their analytical and communication abilities. The decision of selection committee regarding the process and criteria will be final.
