About College:

Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha was the visionary who conceptulised the Indian Nuclear Programme and along with a handful of Scientists initiated the nuclear science research in India in March, 1944. He envisaged the vast potential of nuclear energy and its possible successful utilization in the field of power generation and allied areas. Dr. Bhabha started working with the goal of achieving self reliance in the fields of nuclear science and engineering and today’s Department of Atomic Energy which is a consortium of different and diversified fields of science and engineering is the final outcome of the farsighted planning of Dr. Bhabha. Thus, in his own words “When Nuclear Energy has been successfully applied for power production in, say a couple of decades from now, India will not have to look abroad for its experts but will find them ready at hand”.

Course Name:

Diploma in Medical Radioisotope Techniques (DMRIT)

Duration: 1 Year

Eligibility:

·         B.Sc. with Physics / Chemistry / Maths from a recognised University OR

·         B.Sc. in Life Sciences with Physics as a subject from recognised University OR

·         B.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized University OR

·         B.Sc. in allied / related subject i.e. Radio Diagnosis (MRT) / Radiotherapy from a recognised University. Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Science Subjects at B.Sc. level.

Age Limit

·         Not more than 35 years as on 1st May 2019. Upper age limit can be relaxed in the case of SC/ST (5 Years), OBC (3 Years), PWD category (10 Years) and sponsored candidates.

·         The candidates with physical disabilities limited to the lower extremities, but permitting to stand and move and physically able to carry out the course requirement only will be considered.

Note:

Candidates sponsored by institutions with immediate prospect of post training employment in the same institution can apply if they have 50% aggregate marks in B.Sc. in any of the fields mentioned above.

Common Admission Test (CAT)

·         A Common Admission Test for all three courses will be conducted and will comprise of 150 Multiple Choice Questions.

·         The CAT syllabus will be drawn from Science Subjects.

1.    Physics

2.    Chemistry

3.    Maths or Biology of Standard XII or equivalent.

·         Minimum marks to qualify will be 50%. The CAT will be held at 11.00 A.M. on 24.11.2019 at HRDD, New Training School Complex, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai–400094.

Selection Process

A merit list of candidates qualifying the CAT will be made and candidates will be called in order of merit to attend Counseling Session for allotment of courses in next three days following CAT.

Admit Card

Admit Card will be generated after the last date for receipt of application. Candidates are required to print Admit Card using their own login details. Without Admit Card, candidates will not be permitted to appear for CAT. The list of selected candidates will be displayed on the BARC website (recruit.barc.gov.in / www.barc.gov.in).

Stipend

A stipend of 15,000/- p.m. (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Only) is given to each Non-Sponsored trainee.

Award of Diploma

·         The Board of Studies shall fix the minimum qualifying marks or grades and other criteria for declaring a student as successful for the award of the Diploma.

·         Maximum number of attempts allowed including the first one will be three. The maximum period allowed for completing DMRIT course is two years and the maximum period allowed for completing MSc course is three years.

·         The examination result of all the candidates shall be communicated to the Dean, HBNI through Dean-Academic of the Constituent Institute. The successful candidates will be awarded Post Graduate Diploma by HBNI.

Application Procedure

·         Facility for submission of online application will be available from 18th October 2019 to 12th November 2019 on website of BARC i.e. https://recruit.barc.gov.in

·         Applications will be accepted only through online mode.

·         Candidate should read the instructions in the advertisement and online application form carefully before making any entry or selecting any option.

·         Before filling the application form, candidates should keep ready the necessary documents/ certificates required.

·         Candidate is required to fill up personal details and details of training courses applied for etc. and upload recently taken front facing passport size photograph in JPEG format with size not exceeding 20 KB. Photograph not in conformity with the specification shall render the application liable to be rejected.

·         While filling up the online application from candidates should ensure that all the required details are entered.

Course Name:

Diploma in Radiological Physics (Dip.R.P.)One year Post-M.Sc. programme

Eligibility:

The eligibility for admission to the DipRP course is M.Sc. (Physics) with not less than 60% marks in aggregate through full time programme. In addition, the candidate should posses the B.Sc. (physics as a main subject) Degree with not less than 60% marks in aggregate. In case of grade system, grade to percentage of marks conversion scheme obtained from the University should be submitted along with the application failing which application will not be considered. The sponsored candidates should have at least one-year working experience in a Radiotherapy Department of Government Institution in India. The working experience will be counted from the date of enrolment in personal monitoring services. A certificate/declaration in this matter should be furnished at the time of interview. The sponsored candidate should also submit a documentary evidence of availing personal monitoring service from BARC/accredited laboratories. 

Those who await the final results of M.Sc. (Physics) Degree may also apply. However, such candidates should necessarily attach copies of the mark sheets of B.Sc. Degree and a copy of M.Sc. first year mark sheet(s) along with the application. If appearing candidates are selected for admission to DipRP course, they should submit their M. Sc. Degree and mark  sheet by October 30, 2019 failing which their candidature may be terminated. In case the appearing candidates admitted to the course do not secure 60% marks in aggregate in the M.Sc. (Physics) examination, their candidature will be terminated. 

Age limit

The upper age limit as on August 01, 2019:

a) General Category - 26 years

b) OBC - 29 years

c) SC/ST - 31 years

d) Dependents of those who died in the riots of 1984 (Dep1984) – 31 years

e) Persons domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu and Kashmir State from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989 (Dom Kashmir) – 31 years.

f) Physically challenged candidates – Age relaxation by up to 10 years.

The candidates with physical disabilities limited to the lower extremities, but permitting to stand, move and physically able to carry out the course work will only be considered.

g) For the sponsored candidates of all categories the upper age limit as on August 01, 2019 is 40 years.

Selection procedure

Selection of non-sponsored candidates is based on written test followed by an interview. Please note that CET is meant for screening the candidates and the final selection to the course is solely based on performance in the interview.

Stipend

On admission to the course, each non-sponsored candidate is eligible to receive a stipend of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) per month for a period of one year. The sponsored candidates are not eligible for the stipend.

Admission fee

The candidates should pay an admission fee of Rs.6000/- (Rupees Six thousand only) at the time of admission. The fee should be paid in the form of a crossed Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of Accounts Officer, HBNI, payable at Mumbai.

How to Apply:

Application fee and Mode of Payment

Interested candidates should submit their online applications with a non-refundable application processing fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) through online payment only. The SC/ST applicants, Dependents of Defense Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA), women candidates and physically challenged candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. 

Payment Procedure:

1.    The Application number generated after the submission of the online application is required to make the online payment of the application fee and hence submission of application is mandatory before the online payment of application fees. However, fee NOT paid will be treated as incomplete application and hence will be rejected.

2.    For payment of fee, candidates should click on the ‘Make Payment’ option under the ‘My Account’ menu. The Application number generated while submission of application can be selected from the Drop-down box and on clicking the ‘submit’ button candidates can go to the next pages for making the online payment.

3.    A detailed guideline for payment of application fee is available under the menu “Payment of fees” “How to Apply”.

4.    Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances and cannot be held in reserve for any other recruitment.

5.    Application fee should be paid on or before the last date of receipt of online applications.
