About College:

The Institute for Financial Management and Research is a not-for-profit research based academic institution with a history of 43 years of Training and Research. It has run programs in the past in collaboration with British Open University and Michigan Business School. IFMR has a unique combination made up of: A Business School offering a 2 year full-time 'Postgraduate Diploma in Management' program recognized by AICTE and, recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to an MBA

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) [Finance, Economics, Management]

Eligibility:

Qualifications

(i)       Master’s degree or equivalent PG Diploma in a relevant discipline, and a Bachelor’s degree with consistent first class

OR

Five-Year integrated Master’s degree/Dual degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline with consistent first class

OR

ACA / FCA / AICWAI / ACSI qualifications of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India provided the candidates have secured

i)          one of the above qualifications after a lapse of at least 2 years after obtaining a university UG degree from any recognized university

ii)         First class in the aggregate in the qualifying degree examination

Experience:

·         For candidates applying to the disciplines of HR & OB, Strategy, IT & Systems and Operations, at least 2 years of work experience is mandatory.

·         For the disciplines of Economics & Finance, candidates with at least 2 years of work experience will be given preference.

Entrance Examination: A written examination will be followed up by viva-voce. Short listed candidates will be required to appear for a selection test (basic calculus (integral as well as differential), statistics and probability theory) and interview to be held at the Institute’s campus in Chennai.
