Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana - Ambala, erstwhile known as Maharishi Markandeshwar Education Trust was founded with the objective of social, educational and economic upliftment of society in the year 1993, in the name of Lord Shiva’s devotee, “Maharishi Markandeshwar Ji”. MM University Trust, Mullana - Ambala has become a symbol of quality education in technical, professional and medical streams in northern India and has been carrying on its lineage for over 20 years.
In exercise of powers conferred under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, the Central Government, on the advice of the University Grants Commission, has declared Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana – Ambala comprising ten of its teaching institutions, as “Deemed University” vide Notification No. F.9-65/2006-U.3 (A) dated 12-6-2007. Eligibility:
Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Doctor of Medicine MD [with specialization] in Maharishi Markandeshwar University, MMU, Mullana
1. A candidate will be eligible for appearing in the Entrance Test for MD Courses if he/she:
i) is a citizen of India ;
ii) has passed MBBS examination from any Medical College/Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India ;
iii) has completed satisfactorily or is liable to complete one year compulsory rotating internship Colleges/Centres recognized by the Medical Council of India;
iv) is registered permanently with the State Medical Council/MCI at the time of admission and ;
v) Possesses a certificate of good conduct from the Head of the Institution last attended.
2. The candidate will have to submit the above-mentioned certificates in original at the time of counselling without which the admission shall not be granted, except the certificate of completion of internship and registration at Sr. No. (iii) & (iv) mentioned above which will have to be submitted positively, failing which their Provisional Admission will stand cancelled without any further notice.
3. A candidate who is already admitted to a course in any institution is eligible to apply for another course only after passing the first course. An undertaking to this effect will have to be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission. Concealment of facts would invite disqualification.
4. After commencement of the PG Courses(Degree/Diploma), if a candidate having joined the course leaves it before the completion of full period :
i) he/she will be debarred for next three years from applying for admission to any P.G. Course (Degree/Diploma) in the M.M. Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Mullana-Ambala ; and
ii) He/she will have to execute a Bond for payment of full fee of MD Courses, at the time of admission and will be liable to pay the bond money in case he leaves before the completion of full period of the course.
5. Candidates already in service must submit their Application Form through their employer or produce 'No Objection Certificate', from their employer on or before the last date fixed for receipt of Application Forms.

The Competent Authority takes no responsibility for any postal delay in the receipt or loss of Application Form or any document/correspondence in transit. 1. The cost of Prospectus-cum-Application Form will not be refunded under any circumstances.
2. Any attempt on the part of candidate, parents or relatives to canvass or bring influence to bear upon the Competent Authority, directly or indirectly, for securing admission will lead to disqualification.
3. The candidate is admitted on the basis of information submitted by him/her and if, at any subsequent stage, it is discovered that any portion of this information is incorrect, the student will be expelled from the institution and all fees and other dues paid/liable to be paid upto the date of such removal shall be forfeited/charged. Any further action as deemed suitable may also be taken by the University against such student.
4. The Application Form should be filled in carefully in block and legible letters and signed by the candidate. All claims made in the Application Form must be supported with documentary proof. Application Forms which are incomplete in respect of the required particulars or due to lack of essential documents will be rejected.
5. In case of any ambiguity in the rules, the interpretation given by the Vice- Chancellor/Competent Authority of the University shall be final.
