About College:

IIT Bombay, the second in the chain of IITs, was set up in 1958.  It was the first IIT to be set up with foreign assistance.  The funds came from UNESCO in roubles from the Soviet Union.  In 1961, the Parliament decreed IITs as 'Institutes of National Importance'.  Since then, IIT Bombay has grown from strength to strength to emerge as one of the top technical universities in the world.

IIT Bombay has a total of 14 academic departments, six centres, one school, and three interdisciplinary programmes.  It is recognised worldwide as a leader in the field of engineering education and research.  It is reputed for the quality of its faculty and the outstanding calibre of students graduating from its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Over the last fifty-three years, around 39,000 engineers and scientists have graduated from the institute.  It is noted for its strong research groups in varied areas of science and technology that are making substantial contributions to national projects.  Educational progammes here extend beyond the physical sciences and engineering into humanities and social sciences such as Economics, English, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology and into management studies.  Over the years, the institute has also created a niche for its innovative short-term courses through continuing education and distance education programmes.  In 2011, a total of 1846 degrees, including 173 Ph.D., were awarded, which represents 9.2 per cent increase in the total number of degrees awarded in the previous year.  The faculty of the institute has won many prestigious awards and recognitions, including nine Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar awards.

Residents at IIT Bombay have the twin advantage of being located at the financial capital of India while enjoying the serene environs of the campus located at Powai, situated in the northern suburbs of Mumbai, in Western India.  It is a fully residential institute, with all its students staying on campus.  The students are accommodated in 14 hostels with in-house dining and excellent amenities for sports and other recreational facilities.

For admission to B. Des, the candidate should have passed in the qualifying exam. If a qualifying Board awards only letter grades without providing information on the passing

grade on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the passing grade and submit it at the time of online acceptance of the allocated seat 

In case such a certificate is not provided, the decision taken by the B.Des admissions Committee will be final. Candidates should have qualified in UCEED 2018 

The criteria, as specified above, is applicable "in toto" to all the candidates including foreign nationals 

Qualifying Examination: 

i. The final exam of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiuweb.org) 

ii. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Exam conducted by a Board or University recognized by the AIU; final exam of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy 

iii. Sr. Secondary School Exam conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects; any Public School, Board or University exam inIndia or in a foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the AIU 

iv. HSC vocational examination 

v. A Diploma recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration 

vi. High School Certificate Exam of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva 

vii. Candidates who have completed Class XII (or equivalent) exam outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities to the effect that the exam they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII exam 

viii. In case the Class XII exam is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) exam earlier

Master of Design (MDes) [Animation] Admission 2018

Eligibility:

- Candidates must have passed a degree / diploma / post graduate degree programme of 4 years or 3+2 years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2018, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2017

- Before applying for CEED, candidates are advised to check whether they meet the required eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes

- There is no age limit to appear for CEED. Besides, a candidate can appear for CEED any number of times. The CEE 2018 score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the results.

Exam Pattern for CEED 2018

CEED 2018 will be conducted on Sunday, 20th January 2018, 10.00 am - 01.00 pm. The language of the question paper will be English.

The examination will consist of two parts, Part A and Part B. Candidates have to attempt questions from both the parts. Part A consist multiple choice (MCQ) type questions and Part B consist of design and hand drawing type questions

Part A will be conducted from 10.00 to 11.00 Hrs. followed by Part B from 11.00 to 13.00 Hrs.

Answer to Part A has to be given in the computer itself. Answer to Part B has to be given in the answer book provided by the invigilator. These answer books will be collected for manual correction at the end of the examination

Part A will be used as screening test. If N is the total number of seats available in all the participating institutes, then approximately the top 10xN candidates will be shortlisted from Part A. Part B will be evaluated only for the candidates who are shortlisted from Part A. Only Part B score will be used for CEED 2018 merit list

The final CEED score will be calculated by giving 25% weightage to marks obtained in Part A marks and 75% weightage to scores obtained in Part B.

After the declaration of the result, CEED 2018 score cards will be available for downloading to all the qualified candidates. Hard copy of the CEED score cards will NOT be sent to the qualified candidates. Answer booklet (Part B) will not be provided to the candidates

CEED 2018 Selection Process 

The candidates who clear the CEED 2017 Result with the minimum marks required qualify for the CEED 2017 Selection Process. The CEED 2017 Selection Process is a three step process. The candidates have to pass through three screens for admissions to the desired programme

Once you have registered and created a password, you can save your work repeatedly before you submit your final application

3.     Copies of degree certificate(s) and mark sheets should be uploaded into your application prior to submission. Official copies will need to be secured for your admissions interview.

4.     Provide two completed Recommendation for Admission Forms (PDF), preferably written by senior-level executives or immediate supervisors. The individuals writing the letters should include their knowledge of your professional achievements; potential for future managerial success; capacity to handle post graduate business education; and personal attributes such as motivation, integrity, and leadership ability. If you are self-employed, the recommendations may be completed by a colleague or client who you work with rather than a supervisor. 5.     Provide a Commitment/Sponsorship Letter from the appropriate officer at your organization. Tution & Fees

The cost for IIT Bombay-Washington University Executive MBA Program offered in Mumbai (starting April 27, 2017) is Rs. 36,00,000 (Rs. 36 lakhs).
Meals, textbooks, tutoring assistance, study materials, parking, and lodging for class weekends and for international residency are included in the tuition. You are responsible for all your transportation costs, including airfare for the International Management Residency at WashingtonUniversity in St. Louis in the United States. You are also required to purchase a laptop if you don’t already have one prior to starting the program. About College:

K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research (SIMSR) was established in the year 1981 as a part of Somaiya Vidyavihar with the objective of providing state of the art education in management and allied areas. The Institute was inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India, and is consistently ranked among top 20 Management Institutes and top 10 private sector B-schools in India. The Institute nestled in a 60 acre campus in the central suburbs of Mumbai and offers full time and part time Masters and Post Graduate Programmes in Business Management, and Masters in Computer Applications.

All the programmes are approved by All India Council of Technical Education, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, New Delhi and affiliated toUniversity of Mumbai. The research centre for Ph.D. programme in Management of University of Mumbai and SNDT Women’s University (For women candidates only). Apart from the regular programmes, the Institute offers customized and subject / industry specific certificate and executive development programmes for government bodies, companies, defense personnel and NGO's. Undertakes research and consultancy for both public and private organization.
