About College:

National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR) came into existence   on 30 September 2002 with the merger of National Institute of Science Communication (NISCOM) and Indian National Scientific Documentation Centre (INSDOC). Both NISCOM and INSDOC, the two premier institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), were devoted to dissemination and documentation of S&T information.

NISCOM had been in existence for the last six decades (first as two Publication Units of CSIR, which were merged to form the Publications Division, which was later renamed as Publications & Information Directorate and in 1996, as NISCOM). Over the years, NISCOM diversified its activities, and through a host of its information products, comprising research and popular science journals, encyclopaedic publications, monographs, books, and information services, it had been reaching out to researchers, students, entrepreneurs, industrialists, agriculturists, policy planners and also the common man.

Course Name:

Ph.D. Science & Technology Communication

Eligibility:

Masters Degree with 55% marks in any subject with bachelors degree in science or a bachelor degree with 55 % mark, in agriculture science, medical science, engineering, technology or equivalent from a recognized university/ institution. Candidate with basic or combination of qualifications in Sciences, Engineering or Social Sciences are also eligible. Having a National fellowship (JRF/SRF/INSPIRE) or equivalent will be an advantage.

Admission process.

Admissions to AcSIR PhD programmes are conducted twice in a year. The Participating CSIR Labs announces the admission criteria and procedure of admission through National Dailies and Web media.

Shortlisted candidates fulfilling the shortlisting criteria of respective participating CSIR Labs will be called for test and / or interview by the Selection Committees of the respective laboratories of CSIR.

Based on the Academic record and the performance of the candidates in the test and / or interview, the Selection Committee of the concerned CSIR Laboratory recommends names of the selected candidates to the respective Deans.

The number of candidates called for test/interview will be commensurate with the number of seats/requirements in each laboratory.

How to Apply:

·         For Admission Process, you need to follow two phases:

1.    Registration phase

2.    Complete Application form Fill-up process

·         In Registration phase, once you successfully register yourself, you will be receiving auto email on your email-id with login credentials and link to be re-directed for further complete admission form fill-up process with unique Registration Number.

·         Application form fill-up process is divided into three steps:

1.    Registration Step

2.    Confirmation Step

3.    Print Acknowledgement of Admission Receipt with Unique Form Number 

·         Important dates of admission process will be flashed on Portal.

·         Only one application is allowed for an applicant. If, at any time, it is found that more than one application is filled by a candidate then the candidature will be summarily rejected.

·         Short-listed  candidates  will  be  intimated electronically  and  they  will  be  required  to appear  for  interview  for  selection  at  the designated  centres  on  the  dates  announced.

In  addition  to  their  academic  performance and/or  depending  on  the  vacancies,  final selection will be based on performance of the candidate in the aptitude test/ interview.

The Foundation stone of Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital was laid in October 1961 and was commissioned by the then Prime Minister late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 30th April 1964. From a very humble beginning with 229 beds, it has expended to currently over 700 beds (714beds). Today it is a internationally recognized tertiary care institution for Heart, Brain and Gastrointestinal and Psychiatic disorders. It offers super specialty treatment to about 3 lac patients in the OPD and almost 15,000 patients in General and Private wards every year.

It is one of the reputed centre for post-doctoral teaching and training and is recognized for many path breaking research. The Institution has a unique recognition by both Medical Council of India and University Grants Commission as an independent post graduate College affiliated to Delhi University. The institution offers post-doctoral D.M. degrees in Cardiology, Neurology and Gastroenterology and M.Ch. degrees in Cardio Thoracic Surgery, Neuro Surgery and Gastrointestinal Surgery. Diploma in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology (DCNT) Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility:

B.Sc. with Physics/Electronics/Computer Sciences with Minimum 2nd Division in the qualifying exam. OR Diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation OR

Diploma in Computer (Approved by Board of Technical Education) OR

10+2 with 03 years experience as EEG/EMG Technician (applicable only for in service candidates).

Age Limit: Candidates should not be more than 25 years as on 01.01.18 (Age Relaxable for SC by 05 year).

Mode of Selection: Admission to the course shall be through a selection committee duly constituted by the medical director, GIPMER, new delhi, Selection will be strictly according to the merit, based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Course of Study and work: The candidates will be provided orientation in theoretical and practical aspects of medical electronics, Computer in medical instrumentation, Basic concept of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, electrophysiology, instrumentation, techniques, of recording and application in neurological disorders. The candidates will be required to initially observe the recording procedure and subsequently independently record electroencephalogram, nerve conduction and evoked potential and assist in electromyography.

Stipend During training: The candidate shall be paid a stipend of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) per month during the period of training.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the PGDM Program(s), the participants must possess a bachelor’s equivalent degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in any discipline, from a recognised university in India or abroad (recognised by the UGC / Association of Indian Universities). However, the final selection may be based on a higher cut-off percentage depending on the total number of applicants for the program. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years education, after completing higher secondary schooling under the 10+2 system or equivalent. ·         Cost of an application form will be Rs.2200/- for an applicant desirous of applying to any one of the two-Year Program(s) of IMI Delhi. In addition, if the applicant desires to apply for another program(s) also then candidate is required to pay Rs.500/- per program(s) additionally.

·         The admission fee can be paid through Credit Card/ Debit Card/Bank Transfer through the designated payment gateway. No receipts are to be sent to IMI’s Admission Office in such a case.
