About College:

Indian Maritime University – Kochi Kerala has been the Maritime gateway to South India with a very long coast line. Kochi the queen of Arabian Sea placed along this coast line has always kept its doors open to the maritime industry. Kochi Port, an all-weather port, is most strategically located on the east west trade route. No other Indian port enjoys this proximity to the maritime highway as Kochi port. All these factors fuelled the growth of Kochi as a maritime hub. The port city of Kochi with its rich maritime background promises great potential for establishment of Maritime institutions offering specialized maritime courses and training. It was felt that establishment of a Campus of the IMU at Kochi will go a long way in promotion of the maritime sector in particular and the economy of the country as a whole, and the coastal region in particular.  The LNG Petronet Project and the Container Terminal Project at Vallarpadam would also be immensely benefited in terms of manpower training from the IMU Kochi Campus.

B.Tech (Marine Engineering) Kolkata, Mumbai, Cochin & Chennai

Eligibility:
10+2 or equivalent (PCM - 60% average and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination.)

Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks, it will not apply to English marks.

There is Lateral Entry into 2^nd year of B. Tech (Marine Engineering):

Eligibility for Lateral Entry: Candidates with Diploma in Marine /Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks overall are eligible to apply for Lateral Entry. The applications for this will be invited separately by the respective IMU Campuses/ Affiliated Institutes.

Eligibility:

10+2 or equivalent (Minimum 60% of Aggregate marks in any stream and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th and/or 12th Examination.)

Note 1: Percentage of the Aggregate marks will be calculated by considering the marks scored in English subject plus the marks scored in Major Subjects (excluding other languages).

MBA (Port & Shipping Management) Chennai, Cochin

Eligibility:

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from Recognized Universities. A minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10^th or 12^th or UG Degree.

How to Apply:

Online Registration of Applicants with facility to upload photograph, scanned signature, scanned copy of the 10th Std Mark sheet as proof of Date of Birth, scanned copy of 12th Std/ Degree Certificate (wherever applicable), scanned copy of the SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/General-EWS certificate (wherever applicable) and other relevant certificates (wherever applicable). The candidates will be able to make payment for the Registration Fees Online, and download and print the filled-in application in standard formats. For Online Registration, applicants should visit the website of the Indian Maritime University and click on the CET June 2019 hyperlink.

Facility for applicants to download their Hall Tickets/ Admit Cards with the name of the Test Venue indicated.

Automated e-mails/SMS will be sent to every registered applicant on successful registration of Application, uploading of Hall Ticket, publication of results, etc.

In the last three decades the company has emerged as a forerunner in the Indian Shipbuilding & Shiprepair industry. This yard can build and repair the largest vessels inIndia. It can build ships upto 1,10,000 DWT and repair ships upto 1,25,000 DWT. The yard has delivered two of India’s largest double hull Aframax tankers each of 95,000 DWT . CSL has secured shipbuilding orders from internationally renowned companies from Europe & Middle East and is nominated to build the country’s first indigenous Air Defense Ship. 

Shipyard commenced ship repair operations in the year 1982 and has undertaken repairs of all types of ships including upgradation of ships of oil exploration industry as well as periodical lay up repairs and life extension of ships of Navy, UTL, Coast Guard, Fisheries and Port Trust besides merchant ships of SCI & ONGC. The yard has, over the years, developed adequate capabilities to handle complex and sophisticated repair jobs.

The Shipyard also trains graduate engineers to marine engineers who later join ships both Indian and foreign as 5th Engineers. 100 are trained every year.
