The Centre is a premier organisation for education, training, R&D and consultancy in IT and electronics. Course Name:

PG Diploma in Industrial Automation System Design (PGDIASD) [Code: PC100]

Duration: 24 weeks

Eligibility:

ME /MTech or BE /B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Chemical Engineering/ Applied Electronics and Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics & Communication/ Mechatronics / Computer Science. Final year students of above disciplines also may apply.

On the date of counseling/ admission, final year students have to produce the originals of course completion certificate & mark lists up to and including the last semester/year examination. Only those candidates who have passed all the semesters/ year examinations of their qualifying degree on or before the date of counseling are eligible for admission.

The Post Graduate certificates shall be issued to only those who produce the original or provisional degree certificate and the original mark lists and complete all the modules of PC100 program successfully as per the course requirements.

About College:

The history of Centre dates back to 1974 when the Department of Electronics (DoE) now Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC) set up the first CEDT within the premises of Indian Institute of Science (IISc.), Bangalore with assistance from Swiss Development Corporation. A decade after the successful running of CEDT, Bangalore, DoE (now MeitY) set up similar centres at Aurangabad, Imphal andSrinagar in 1987, Calicut, Mohali and Gorakhpur in 1989, with an objective to develop human resources at different levels and in different specialized areas of Electronics Design. Aim was to bridge the gap between the academic institutions and industries. The CEDT centres based at Aurangabad, Calicut, Gorakhpur, Imphal and Srinagar were merged with DOEACC (a scientific society of MeitY) in 2001. In order for its metamorphism into an Institute of National Importance the Society was renamed as ‘National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) on October 10, 2011.

Eligibility:

1.    Candidate’s score in the GATE examination.

NIELIT, Gorakhpur Centre (Formerly DOEACC Society, Gorakhpur Centre) was established as Centre for Electronics Design & Technology of India (CEDTI) in June, 1989. The history of Centre dates back to 1974 when the Department of Electronics (DoE) now Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC) set up the first CEDT within the premises of Indian Institute of Science (IISc.), Bangalore with assistance from Swiss Development Corporation. Aim was to bridge the gap between the academic institutions and industries. The CEDT centres based at Aurangabad, Calicut, Gorakhpur, Imphal and Srinagar were merged with DOEACC (a scientific society of MeitY) in 2001. In order for its metamorphism into an Institute of National Importance the Society was renamed as ‘National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) on October 10, 2011.

d) Admission shall normally be restricted to those candidates who have a valid GATE Score.

e) The eligible branches of engineering for each M.Tech are given under the respective program.
