 About College:

The National School of Drama is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world and the only one of its kind in India. It was set up by the Sangeet Natak Akademi as one of its constituent units in 1959. In 1975, it became an independent entity and was registered as an autonomous organization under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, fully financed by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Training in the School is highly intensive and is based on a thorough, comprehensive, carefully planned syllabus which covers every aspect of theatre and in which theory is related to practice. As a part of their training, students are required to produce plays which are then performed before the public. The syllabus takes into account the methods of great theatre personalities who have shaped contemporary theatre in all its variety. The systematic study and practical performing experience of Sanskrit drama, modern Indian drama, traditional Indian theatre forms, Asian drama and western dramatic protocols give the students a solid grounding and a wide perspective in the art of theatre.

Besides its 3-year training programme, the School has also explored new vistas in the areas of children’s theatre and decentralization of theatre training through workshops under the Extension Programme.

The School has two performing wings – the Repertory Company and Theatre-in-Education Company.
The Repertory Company was started in 1964 with four artistes – Shri Ramamurthy, Ms. Meena Williams, Ms. Sudha Shivpuri and Shri Om Shivpuri – with the objective of providing a platform where graduates of the School could perform plays professionally. Over the years it has presented works of various playwrights and directors who have been associated with it and has evolved into one of NSD’s major institutions, working on contemporary and modern plays as well as introducing experimental work on a regular basis. In addition to doing productions, it organizes its own Festival, where past and new productions are introduced and staged each summer. NSD’s Repertory Company also tours and performs extensively in India and abroad.

Establish: 1991

About College:

KIAMS was founded by a great industrial house, the Kirloskars. It started as an Institute to conduct MDP before considering moving into full-time education. In line with their philosophy and outlook, we adopt the ruling paradigm of "Education through Values". There are three domains where Value is seen in action: Beliefs, Processes and Results.

Our Beliefs hold that everyone has a potential and worth, which cannot be measured on a common scale. And that there is ample room for everyone in the field of Management. Thus each individual has a potential which can find a niche in Management. If you are not the CAT whiskers in quantitative methods, you can empathise your way to the pinnacle of HR. Translated into action, our selection process will look at the student holistically. If s/he reveals some potential that can be deployed in the vast area of management, s/he is welcome to the KIAMS education process.

Our Processes will aim beyond delivering good education. The invitation to the student is to master theory but eschew being theoretical. The individual is encouraged to explore with a sense of responsibility to find the potential that s/he wishes to convert to professional performance. The thinker is as valued as a doer; art co-exists with science. Our association with the industrial house of Kirloskars will facilitate an easy two-way osmosis between concept and application. Our processes would also weed out those who may have misguidedly chosen the path of Management. What would emerge at the end of a two-year process is an eclectic bouquet with each flower having its own valuable fragrance.

The Results are seen in the good track record of MDPs which we have been conducting for many years. Our original contribution in training industry for Process Orientation - the future of industry structure - has been acknowledged by the Kirloskar Group. Soon it will spread to other companies also. In full time PGDM this will be seen in placements

in Institute for Technology and Management, ITM, Business School, Bangalore

Course Description:

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)

Eligibility:

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for PG Diploma in Management PGDM in Institute for Technology and Management, ITM, Business School, Bangalore

Graduates in any discipline with 50% minimum marks from any university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities are eligible. Candidates in their final year of graduation may also apply. Having Work Experience is not a requirement for admission to the program, however candidates with work experience are welcome.

Entrance Test Score Submission

ITM uses standardized management entrance test scores as a part of its overall selection process. Candidates are not selected/disqualified on the basis of their test scores only. The test score is just one part of an overall candidate profile.

The following test scores are accepted:

·       CAT (Common Admission Test)

·       XAT (Xavier's Admission Test)

·       GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test)

·       MAT ( Management Aptitude Test)

Submit an attested copy of your Test Score Card along with the application form. If you have not received your test score, give details of Test Registration Number, Test Centre Code, etc.

Note: ITM uses the CAT score for short-listing candidates called for Group Discussions/Personal Interview. IIM's have no role in selection or in conducting the program.

Scholarships and Financial Aid:  ITM Business School awards a limited number of scholarships/assistantships for exceptional students who are financially challenged. These range from a tuition fee waiver of 25% to 100%, often in exchange for on-campus employment as research assistants, administrative assistants, event managers etc.

Candidates seeking a Scholarship award must submit their applications. The Admissions Committee awards scholarships at its sole discretion, selecting candidates based on the criteria mentioned below (see Selection Process). Additional weight age is often, but not always given to candidates with 2+ years work experience, previous Masters level education (non-Business), and financial condition of the candidate and his family.

Selection Process:  The Admissions Committee for the PGDM program consists of the Chairman of Admissions, The Chairman of ITM Trust and the individual Directors of each ITM PGDM Campus.

Note: No Capitation or donations are accepted for the PGBM (or any ITM program) under any circumstances. There are no seat quotas for ethnic minorities and no payment category. Selection to the ITM PGDM program is based exclusively on the candidates merit and the discretion of the Admissions Committee.

Selection into the ITM PGDM program at all Campuses is conducted centrally through ITM Navi Mumbai.

Group Discussion/Personal Interview:  Several Group Discussion & Personal Interview sessions will be conducted starting in February 2016. For selected candidates, the intimation for interview & group discussion is done through registered post and e-mail.

The selection criteria for calling candidates for Group Discussion & Personal Interviews and final admissions are based on multiple factors as follows:

ü        Past academic performance

ü        Quality & content of the answers in the application form

ü        Work experience, if any, in terms of job content & organization

ü        Group Discussion & Interview performance

ü        Extra curricular activities, other interests & accomplishments

ü        CAT/XAT/GMAT score

ü        A combination of all the above factors are used to determine the eligibility of candidates to be called for interview/group discussion and offered final admission. CAT/XAT/GMAT score is NOT the only criteria for selection in ITM.

ü        A high test score does not guarantee a call for Group Discussion/Interview. The selection criteria are based on multiple factors as mentioned above.
