Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), a unique institution devoted to the research, teaching and application of statistics, natural sciences and social sciences. Founded by Professor P.C. Mahalanobis in Kolkata on 17th December, 1931, the institute gained the status of an Institution of National Importance by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959.

Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) issued by the appropriate authority of candidate/father/mother which one is applicable, must be submitted 

(c) Candidate must have passed/appeared/due to appear in the year of Joint Entrance Exam at the Higher Secondary Exam of Tripura Board of Secondary Education /Central Board of Secondary Education or equivalent exam with the subjects in which he/she desires to appear at the Joint Entrance Exam 

(d) Children of All India Services Officers borne in Manipur-Tripura cadre and the children of the employees of State Govt. posted outside Tripura will be eligible to appear at the exam irrespective of their prior stay in Tripura 

(e) In case a candidate is not permanent resident of Tripura but his/her parent is an Officer on deputation to the Govt. of Tripura/Officer of the Central Govt. working in Tripura and has served in Tripura continuously for a period of 3-years or more and passed H.S from an Institution of Tripura he/she is eligible for appearing in the exam 

(f) In case of Wards of Ex-Serviceman, either the candidate or his/her parents must have been staying in Tripura continuously for not less than 5-years immediately prior to the date of making application for appearing at the Joint Entrance Exam and the candidate must have passed or appeared/due to appear at the H.S. (+2) Exam or equivalent in the year of JEE from any legally recognized institution in India with subjects in which he/she desires to appear at the Joint Entrance Exam

The Application Form and Prospectus may be obtained by postal request from the office of the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Exam by sending Postal Order of Rs.100/- per Form and Prospectus in favour of Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Exam, payable at Agartala Head Post Office 

All postal requests must be accompanied with a self-addressed envelope of 30 cm x 13 cm size and a postage stamp of Rs.5/- affixed on it 

Exam Fees 
The Exam Fees for different categories of candidates are as shown in the table below: 
UR - Rs.350/- (Rupees three hundred and fifty) 
SC & ST - Rs.300/- (Rupees three hundred) 
BPL UR - Rs.250/- (Rupees two hundred and fifty) 
BPL SC & ST - Rs.200/- (Rupees two hundred) 

Candidates must have to deposit their exam fees through prescribed e-Challan supplied by TBJEE at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI). In that case, they have to deposit bank commission/other charges in addition to the amount of exact exam fees; but if the exam fees are deposited at SBI, Agartala (Melarmath) Branch, there is no need to give exchange fees/commission/service charges etc.

About College:

The vision of the late legendary, Padmashree Dr N T Rama Rao, erstwhile Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, became a reality when 'The Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences, first of its kind, was established in 1986 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, with Vijayawada as Headquarters. It is a state wide University with the aim of ensuring efficient and systematic education, training and research in allopathic and Indian systems of medicine, Dentistry and Nursing. Act No.6 of the A P Legislature was passed accordingly and the University was inaugurated on 9th April, 1986 by the then Chief Minister Dr. N.T.Rama Rao. The University started functioning from 1st November in the same year.

The objectives of the University are:

* Improvement of standards of medical education in Andhra Pradesh

* Maintenance of uniform curriculum in all the affiliated colleges

* Conduction of a good quality basic and applied research, to arrive at solutions to the health needs of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The university advocates and promotes improvisation of available natural resources  for  preparation of medicines for cure of human ailments, thereby bringing out the true spirit of the ancient proverb in ures” Vaidyo Narayano Harihi”.

By establishment of the university, all disciplines of health sciences are brought under one roof: namely modern medicine, ancient Indian systems of medicine, allied health sciences like dentistry, physiotherapy, nursing, paramedical sciences. About the PhD Program The PhD degree be awarded by the University after fulfilling all the requirements for the Degree of "Doctor of Philosophy" by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada Duration The duration of the PhD course shall be a minimum of 3 years (full time) and 4 years (part time) for Post Graduates Types of PhD research Program and facilities The candidates seeking PhD admission can apply in any one of the following categories a) Subject -wise PhD program An eligible candidate can apply in the subject of his/her specialty (e.g. Microbiology) to work under the guidance of a guide in the same specialty (e.g Microbiology). If needed there can be one or two co guides in the same subject or related subjects, based on the nature of research work b)Interdisciplinary PhD program A candidate can apply for interdisciplinary PhD program with two or more related subjects in any one faculty (e.g. Modern Medicine, Ayurveda) or different faculties (e.g. Nursing and Physiotherapy). The candidate can apply from any recognized centre for at least one subject under a recognized guide, and at least one co guide in related subjects. The candidate, if selected has to appear for the pre PhD examination in two major subjects involved in interdisciplinary research. (Paper II, Part –A and Part –B -50 marks each). For interdisciplinary PhD research, involving two colleges/institutes, the Principals/ Heads of both colleges/ institutions have to certify permitting the candidates to do research work at both the places The decision of PhD Committee that looks after admission process will be final as regards the allotment of subject –wise or interdisciplinary PhD program to the candidates C) Facilities for Research Normally, the requisite facilities for conduct of PhD work are expected to be available at the Centre(s) where a candidate registers for PhD work. However, if any specialized work is to be conducted for which facilities are not available at the said centre, then the candidate may get permission to carry out the same at National/ State institutes or other colleges or hospitals or advanced centres. A written permission letter from the head of such centre should be enclosed along with the PhD application form. The candidate should obtain written permission from Dr.NTR UHS before proceeding to utilize the facilities at other centers. The guide should take the responsibility of overseeing the progress of the candidates work

Eligibility Criteria 

PhD (Full-time) Program: Master’s degree (MD, MS, DNB/MDS/MD (Ayurveda)/M.Sc (Nursing)/ MPT or M.Sc-Medical) in any subject allied to Medical Sciences of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences 

Master’s degree from any other recognized University, which is recognized as equivalent by this University, taking in to consideration the recognition of the Central Councils like MCI, DCI, CCIM, INC, etc., M.Phil in Medical Sciences 

MBBS with PG Diploma recognized by MCI and two papers (as first author) published in peer reviewed journals are allowed to apply 

PhD (Part-time) Program: Teachers with requisite qualifications mentioned above in (a) working at least for one year (as on the date of notification for PhD admission) in colleges or centers affiliated to Dr NTRUHS 
Teachers/Scientists/Researchers working in State and National Research Institutes/Universities with 5 years of experience 

Maximum Age Limit 

Maximum Age limit to apply for Ph.D. Program for both Full Time and Part Time candidates is 52 years as on the date of admission notification

The filled in application form along with enclosures and a non-refundable fee of Rs.5000/-(Rupees Five thousand only)  by way of Demand Draft drawn on or after 20th January 2018, in favour of “The Registrar, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences payable at Vijayawada” should reach the Convener, PhD Admissions-2018
