PU CET PG 2017 Eligibility Criteria and Test Scheme 

Master of Laws (L.LM One-Year Course and LLM Two Year Course) 

Eligibility: A person who has passed one of the following exams shall be eligible after qualifying the entrance test to join the first semester class of the LLM Course: 

a) LLB 3 Yr Degree, BA LLB,B.Com LLB 5 yrs degree exam of this University with minimum 55% marks (50% in case of SC,ST,BC candidates); or 

b) Any equivalent exam of another University recognized by the Syndicate for this purpose 

Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The Entrance Test will be of 100 marks. The questions will be based upon following four components: 

1. Constitution Law, Administrative Law, Service Law, Environmental Law and Human Rights - 50 MCQ (1 Mark Each) 

2. Indian Penal Code (IPC), Cr. Pr. Code and Law of Evidence - 15 MCQ (1 Mark Each) 

3. Jurisprudence 10 MCQ (1 Mark Each) 

4. Family Law, Law of Contract, Law of Torts, Public International Law, Labour Laws and Company Law - 25 MCQ (1 Mark Each) 

MCA 3 yr Course (Semester System) & (MCA Evening Self-Financing Course) 
Eligibility: The minimum qualification for admission to the first-year of the course shall be: i) A recognized first degree of minimum three years’ duration in any discipline from Panjab University with at least 50% marks and with Mathematics at 10+2 or at graduation level (all three years); or ii) BCA from Panjab University with 50% marks; or iii) Any exam recognized by the Panjab University as equivalent to any of the above exams i) or ii) 
Scheme of Test: The test of 1 hour 30 minutes duration shall contain 75 Objective Type (Multiple choice questions with four responses i.e. A,B,C,&D) carrying one mark each; the questions will be based upon following four components: i) Mathematics (10+2 level) 40;  ii) Computer Science 15; iii) English 10; iv) Reasoning & Aptitude 10 

M.A. Journalism & Mass Communication (Sem. System, 2-Year Course) 
Eligibility: The Entrance Test is open to all such candidates who have any one of the following qualifications: 
i) A Bachelor’s degree obtaining at least 45% marks in the subject of Journalism & Mass Common or Bachelor’s degree in any subject attaining atleast 50% marks in the aggregate of this University or any other University the exam of which has been recognized as equivalent thereto; or 
ii) BA,BSc with Honours in Journalism and Mass Communication; or 
iii) Master’s Degree exam in any subject of this University or any other University the exam of which has been recognized as equivalent thereto 

Scheme of Test: The test of1 hour and 30 minutes duration will comprise of Objective & Subjective Type Questions for 65 marks out of the total 75 marks; the remaining 10 marks would be divided equally between the group discussion and interview to be held consequent to the entrance test 
The test will be divided into five following components: i) Article writing on current events; ii) Precis writing; iii) Feature, writing on personalities, reviews etc. iv) English Comprehension; v) Interpretative passage 

MPH (Master in Public Health) 
Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks from recognized University, Institute 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple choice questions of one mark each; there will be 25 from Biological Sciences, 10 from Social Sciences, 25 from Health Sciences and Medical Vocabulary, 15 on Environment Sciences 

M.A. (English) (Semester System) 
Eligibility: A person who has passed one of the following examinations from Panjab University or from any other University whose examination has been recognized equivalent to the corresponding exam of this University: 
i) B.A. with Honours in English; ii) Bachelor’s degree in any faculty with at least 50% marks in the aggregate; iii) Diploma in Physical Education exam or Postgraduate Diploma in Library Science after having passed B.A. or B.Sc; iv) B.A. (Pass),B.Sc (Pass) exam in full subjects obtaining at least 45% marks in the Elective English 
vi) Obtained B.A after passing exam in an Oriental Classical Language or a Modern Indian Language with at least 45% marks (out of the aggregate excluding the additional paper) at the Honours in Oriental Titles or Modern Indian Languages exam in English 
Scheme of Test: The written Test will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration and will carry 75 marks; the pattern of the CET should be as follows: 
a) Write at least two paragraphs (total 400 words) on any of the one given topics, issues - 30 marks 
b) Critical appreciation of a poem - 25 marks 
c) Four short note (approx 100 words) based on Topics related to literature - 20 Marks 

MA (Geography) 
Eligibility: A person shall be eligible only if (i) He,she has passed in Geography in the BA or B.Sc exam obtaining at least 45 marks; or has obtained Post-graduate diploma in Cartography with atleast second division 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple choice questions of one mark each 

Masters in Disaster Management 
Eligibility: The candidates, except those sponsored by the govt, institution should have passed the written Entrance Test conducted by PU, Chandigarh; the merit list will be prepared considering the marks obtained in the Entrance Test and the qualifying Exam as per the following criteria: 
Written Entrance Test: 50% 
Qualifying Exam: 50% 
Academic and other weightage(s), if any, will be based on the percentage of marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the Qualifying Exam as prescribed and admissible in PU rules 

Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each 

Masters in Remote Sensing & GIS 
Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree with Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematics ,Physics, Botany ,Environment Science, Computer Science, Urban Planning, Regional Planning, B.Tech, BCA or Master’s Degree in Geography ,Geology, Geophysics ,Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Environment  Science, Computer Science, MCA, Urban Planning, Regional Planning with at least 50% marks in aggregate 
BA, B.Sc, M.A, M.Sc Geography students will be given additional weightage of 15% of the academic score at Bachelor’s level 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each 

M.Tech. (Nanoscience and Nanotechnology) (Semester System) 
Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree (4-years after 10+2) in Engg, Technology, i.e. B.E ,B.Tech (in any Branch); or Master’s degree in Physics ,Chemistry ,Biophysics ,Biochemistry ,Microbiology, Biotechnology, NanoScience, Electronics with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple choice questions of one mark each; the syllabus will be based broadly on the course contents on fundamentals of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Computer background covered during their qualifying exams including undergraduate level 

M.E. (Chemical) 
Eligibility: B.E., B.Tech (Chemical) (04 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E (Chem.)with MBA with a CGPA of 6.00 or at least 60% marks in the aggregate (where % marks are awarded) in the qualifying exam i.e. B.E., B.Tech (Chemical) (04 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E (Chem) with MBA or any other equivalent qualifying degree as approved by the Syndicate 
GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the PU-CET (P.G.) test; however, in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates the merit list will be as per the GATE Score obtained and shall be offered the seat in the first instance 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each; the syllabus will be based broadly on the course contents generally covered during qualifying exams 

M.E. (Food Technology) 
Eligibility: B.E, B.Tech degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Food Engg, Chemical Technology (4 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E (Chemistry) with MBA or any other equivalent qualifying degree as approved by the Syndicate with a CGPA of 6.00 or at least 60% marks in the aggregate (where % marks are awarded) 
GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the PU-CET (P.G.) Test; however, in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates the merit list will be as per the GATE Score obtained and shall be offered the seat at the first instance 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each; the syllabus will be based broadly on the course contents generally covered during qualifying exams 

M.E (Chemical with specialization in Environmental Engineering) 
Eligibility: B.E., B.Tech (Chemical) (04 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E (Chem.) with MBA with a CGPA of 6.00 or at least 60% marks in the aggregate (where % marks are awarded) in the qualifying exam i.e. B.E., B.Tech (Chemical) (04 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E (Chem.) with MBA or any other equivalent qualifying degree as approved by the Syndicate 
The candidate shall be admitted on the basis of the PU-CET (P.G.) merit conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh 
GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the PU-CET (P.G.) test; however, in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates the merit list will be as per the GATE Score obtained and shall be offered the seat at the first instance 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each; the syllabus will be based broadly on the course contents generally covered during qualifying exams 

M.Tech (Polymer) 
Eligibility: B.E, B.Tech (Chemical) (04 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E (Chem) with MBA with a CGPA of 6.00 or at least 60% marks in the aggregate (where % marks are awarded) in the qualifying exam i.e. B.E., B.Tech (Chemical) (04 years) or Five Year Integrated B.E (Chem) with MBA or any other equivalent qualifying degree as approved by the Syndicate; or 
The candidate shall be admitted on the basis of the PU-CET (PG) merit conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh; GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the PU-CET (PG) test; however, in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates the merit list will be as per the GATE Score obtained and shall be offered the seat in the first instance 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each; the syllabus will be based broadly on the course contents generally covered during qualifying exams 

M.Sc (Industrial Chemistry) 
Eligibility: B.Sc (3 yr Course) with Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, B.Sc (Hons School) Chemistry, B.Sc (Hons) Chemistry with Maths as a compulsory subject, B.Sc (3 Year Course) with Industrial Chemistry & Mathematics as compulsory subject or any other equivalent exam as approved by the syndicate, Panjab University, Chandigarh 
A candidate seeking admission must have obtained a minimum CGPA of 5.5; or 55% marks (where % marks are awarded) in the qualifying exam mentioned above 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be of 1 hour 30 minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each consisting of 20 questions in Physics, 20 questions in Chemistry, 20 questions in Industrial Chemistry & 15 questions in Maths; the syllabus will be based broadly on the course contents generally covered during the qualifying exams 

M.E. Electrical Engg. (Instrumentation & Control) Regular Program 
Eligibility: B.E., B.Tech or equivalent in Instrumentation and Control, Electronics, Electrical Engg with atleast 60% marks in the aggregate from Panjab University or any other University 17 recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto 
Admission is on the basis of entrance test PU-CET (P.G.)-2017 to be conducted by the Panjab University and interview. GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the PU-CET (P.G.) Test; however, in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test shall be of 1 hour 30 minutes; the question paper will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions from the syllabi prescribed for PU-CET (P.G.)-2017 ME Electrical Engg. (Instrumentation & Control) Regular Programme 

M.E. (Electronics and Communication Engineering) Regular Program 
Eligibility: B.E or B.Tech or equivalent in Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engg, Electronics & Telecom Engg with at least 60% marks in the aggregate from PU or any other university recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto 
GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the PU-CET (PG)-2017 Test; however, in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates, the merit list will be as per the GATE score obtained and shall be offered the seat at the first instance 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test will be 1 hour 30 minutes; the question paper will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions from the syllabi prescribed for PU-CET (PG)-2017 M.E Electronics & Communication Engg) Regular Programme. Each question will be of one mark 

M.E (Computer Science & Engineering) Regular Program 
Eligibility: B.E or B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science and Engg, Information Technology with at least 60% marks in aggregate from Panjab University or any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto 
GATE qualified candidates shall be exempted from the PU-CET (PG)-2017 test. However, in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates, the merit list will be as per the GATE score obtained and shall be offered the seat in the first instance 
Scheme of Test: The duration of Entrance test will be 1 hour 30 minutes. The question paper will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions from the syllabi prescribed for PU-CET (PG)-2017 M.E (Computer Science & Engg and Information Technology) Regular Program. Each question will be of one mark 
ME Civil Engineering (Construction Technology & Management) Program 
Eligibility: A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engg from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 6.75 of 60% marks in aggregate; admission (against vacant seats) is on the basis of entrance test (PU-CET (P.G.)-2017) to be conducted by the Panjab University & interview 
GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the (PU-CET (P.G.)-2017 test; however, in case eligible GATE qualified candidates, the merit list will be as per the GATE score obtained and shall be offered the seat at the first instance 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test shall be of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The question paper will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions from the syllabi prescribed for (PU-CET (P.G.)-2017 ME Civil Engg (Construction Technology & Mgmt) Program; each question will be of one mark 

ME Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing Technology) Program 
Eligibility: A Bachelor’ Degree in Mechanical Engg, Production Engg., Industrial Engg., Automobile Engg, Manufacturing Technology from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 6.75 or 60% marks in aggregate 
Admission (against vacant seats) is on the basis of entrance test (PU-CET (P.G.) to be conducted by the Panjab University and interview, GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from the (PU-CET (P.G.) test; however, in case of eligible GATE qualified candidates, the merit list will be as per the GATE score obtained and shall be offered the seat at the first instance 
Scheme of Test: The duration of the Entrance Test shall be of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The question paper will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions from the syllabi prescribed for (PU-CET (P.G.)-2017 ME Mechanical Engg (Manufacturing Technology) Program; each question will be of one mark 

M.B.E. (Master of Business Economics) (Semester System) 
Eligibility: i) A Bachelor’s, Master’s degree in any discipline of the University or a Degree of any other University which has been recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto, with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate; or 
ii) Pass in the final exam conducted by (a) The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, (b) The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and (c) the Institute of Company Secretaries of India

Eligibility: a) B.Com,B.Com (Hons.),BBA with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate; or; b) B.Com (Hons) Degree with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate; or; c) A graduate with Honours in Economics or Mathematics or Statistics or Commerce with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate; or 
Provided that in case of candidates having Bachelors degree of the University through Modern Indian Languages ([Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script)] and,or in a classical language (Sanskrit, Persian, Arabic) or degree of any other University obtained in the same manner recognized by the Syndicate; 50% marks in the aggregate shall be calculated by taking into account full percentage of marks in all the papers in Language excluding the additional optional papers, English and Elective subject taken together

M.Com (Business Innovations) (Semester System) 
Eligibility: The Entrance Test for M.Com (Business Innovations) shall be open to all such candidates who possess the qualifications as mentioned below: 
a) A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Business Administration (B.B.A) with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate; OR 
b) B.Com (Hons.) Degree with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate; OR 
c) A graduation with Honours in Economics OR Mathematics OR Statistics OR Commerce with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate; OR

Eligibility: BA, B.Sc, B.Com., any other Graduation Degree with 50% from Panjab University or any other University recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto 
Scheme of Test: The question paper of 1 hour 30 minutes duration will consist of 75 Objective Type Questions (Multiple Choice) with four responses i.e. A,B,C&D carrying a total of 75 marks; the question paper will include 15 questions each on subject knowledge of Commerce, Economics, IT, Verbal ability, Reasoning and General awareness 
Master of Business Administration for Executives (MBAfEX) 
The minimum qualification for admission to the first semester of the course shall be: i) A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any discipline with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate or any other examination with 50% marks recognized by the University as equivalent thereto; or 
A pass in the final examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, Institute of Cost Accountants of India or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of England, Institute of Company Secretaries of India; or 
Diploma in Personnel Management and Labour Welfare or Diploma in Marketing Management with not less than 60% marks in the aggregate, provided the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree

PU CET PG 2017 Registration Fees 

Registration fee that applicants CET-PG have to pay is Rs.2100/- for general category, while for SC, ST it will be Rs.1050/-; in case if the candidates wish to write for two papers, then they are required to pay additional amount of Rs.300/- for each paper 
Application fee has to be paid in SBI branches only after downloading the slip from the site 

PU CET PG 2017 Application Procedure 

This prospectus is valid for only one Online Application form. A separate Online Application form is required to be submitted for the Entrance Test of additional course,s as each course will have separate merit list. The cost of an additional Online Application form is Rs.300/- each 

Fee of Rs.2100/- (Rs. 1050/- for SC, ST, PwD) is meant for upto three courses. However, if a candidate wishes to apply for more than three courses then he,she will have to pay an additional fee of Rs. 300/- for each additional course

BIT Mesra MCA Admission 2017 Exam Pattern 

The Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, will conduct an Online Entrance Test for shortlisting candidates for admission to its 3-year (6-semester) full-time MCA Program 2017 

Test shall comprise of 120 questions to be answered in 2 hours. Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices out of which only one is correct 
For each correct answer, a candidate will earn 4 marks. For every incorrect answer one mark will be deducted. If a question has not been attempted no credit will be given

The Banaras Hindu University shall conduct Postgraduate Entrance Tests, hereinafter called"PET", during 16th to 30th May 2017 [Refer to Section 21 of the Test Schedule] for admission to various Postgraduate Courses as given hereunder for the Session 2017-18

Admissions will be made according to merit in the PET, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements mentioned below and availability of seats in the particular Course for which the candidate has applied for and appeared in the Entrance Test 

All the Courses are conducted in the respective Faculties. In addition, some of the Courses are also conducted in Mahila Mahavidyalaya, BHU (MMV), Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Barkachha,(RGSC) Mirzapur and the Colleges admitted to the Privileges of the University in the city namely, Arya Mahila Post Graduate College, Chetganj (AMPGC); Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Kamachha(VKM); Vasanta College for Women, Rajghat (VCW) and DAV Post Graduate College, Ausanganj(DAVPGC) 

The total number of seats in various Courses are indicated in brackets where "M stands for Male only, "F for Female only, and "M&F indicates seats for Male and Female both 

These Courses have been divided into "General Courses", "Professional Courses" and "Special Courses"

BHU Post Graduate Entrance Test (PET) 2017

A - GENERAL COURSES 

i) Faculty of Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vijnana 

a) Acharya in Veda (Shukla Yajurveda, Krishna Yajurveda, Samveda, Rigveda), Vyakaran, Sahitya, Jyotish (Jyotish Ganit, Jyotish Falit), Dharmashastra, Mimansa, Vedanta, Nyayavaisesika, Prachin Nyaya 
Duration:
 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility: Shastri (Hons),Shastri under at least 10+2+3 pattern, in the concerned subject (studied in all the three years) securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at Shastri level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) mark sheet 

(b) ACHARYA in Sankhyayoga, Puranetihasa - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility: Shastri (Hons), Shastri under at least 10+2+3 pattern, in the concerned subject (studied in all the three years) securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at Shastri level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet; or 
BA (Hons),BA with Sanskrit as a subject (in all the three years) under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at BA level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet 

c) Acharya in Baudha Darshan - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Shastri (Hons), Shastri under at least 10+2+3 pattern, in the concerned subject (studied in all the three years) securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at Shastri level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet; or 
B.A (Hons), B.A with Sanskrit, Pali as a subject (in all the three years) under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at BA level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet 

d) Acharya in Jain Darshan - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Shastri (Hons), Shastri under at least 10+2+3 pattern, in the concerned subject (studied in all the three years) securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at Shastri level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet; or 
B.A. (Hons), B.A with Sanskrit, Prakrit as a subject (in all the three years) under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at BA level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet 

e) Acharya in Dharmagama - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Shastri (Hons.),Shastri under at least 10+2+3 pattern, with subject Dharmagam, Yogatantra, Agamatantra, Agam, Shaivagam (studied in all the three years) securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at Shastri level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) mark sheet 

ii) Faculty of Arts 

a) M.A (Bengali, English, Hindi, Kannada@, Urdu, Sanskrit**, AIHC & Arch ++ (Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology), Philosophy, Geography, Statistics, Mathematics, Home Science) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility: BA (Hons), BA under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at BA level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet; the subject in whom admission is sought must be Hons subject at BA (Hons) level OR a subject studied in all the three years at BA level 

b) M.A in Linguistics - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Graduation under at least 10+2+3 pattern with 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at Graduation Level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet 
A candidate who has done PG (following Graduation under at least 10+2+3 pattern) in any Language-Literature, Philosophy, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, Computer Science securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate each at graduation and post graduation levels is also eligible 

c) M.A in Nepali - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 The candidate who has passed BA (Hons), BA under atleast 10+2+3 pattern, Shastri(B-Level Nepali passed) with PG Diploma, advanced Diploma,1 year Bridge Course in Nepali Subject securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate both at BA and Diploma Levels will be eligible for admission in MA Nepali 

d) M.A. in Arabic, French, German, Marathi, Persian, Russian, Chinese & Telugu - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 As mentioned in Minimum eligibility requirements of (ii) Faculty of Arts (a) above; or BA (Hons),BA under at least 10+2+3 pattern with PG Diploma, Advanced Diploma in the concerned subject (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Marathi, Persian, Russian, Nepali, Telugu) securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate both at BA and Diploma levels 

e) M.A. in Indian Philosophy and Religion (IPR) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 BA (Hons),BA under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at BA level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet 
Philosophy, Religious Studies must be Hons subject; or a subject studied in all the three years at BA level or; BA (Hons), BA in Religious Studies under at least 10+2+3 pattern or equivalent exam securing a minimum of 50% marks taken together 

f) M.A in History of Art - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 BA (Hons), BA under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at BA level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet 
History of Art, AIHC & Arch, Drawing and Painting, BFA (Visual Arts) is Hons subject at BA (Hons) level OR a subject studied in all the three years at BA level 

g) M.A. Pali - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 BA (Hons) in Pali, Buddhist Studies under at least 10+2+3 pattern (OR); Pali, Buddhist Studies, studied in all the three years at BA level; the candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate both at BA (Hons),BA Level 

Note: In case of students having Pali, Buddhist Studies, courses from the University other than BHU or Foreign Students having different course types in Pali, Buddhist Studies, eligibility and equivalence shall be decided by the Departmental Admission Committee for MA in Pali 

iii) Faculty of Social Sciences 

M.A. in Economics, History+, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology++; Duration: 2 Years (4 Semesters) 
Eligibility:
 BA (Hons), BA, B.Sc (Hons), B.Sc under at least 10+2+3 pattern, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at BA, B.Sc level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet. The subject in which admission is sought must have been studied in all the three years at undergraduate level 

iv) Faculty of Commerce 

M.Com - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 B.Com (Hons), B.Com, B.Com (Hons.)-FMM under at least (10+2+3) Pattern Securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studies at B.Com level except those subjects where only pass marks are required & which do not contribute to the total in the Final (degree) mark-sheet 

v) Institute of Science 

a) M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science#, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology, Home Science - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 B.Sc (Hons), B.Sc under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects (considering all the three years of B.Sc Course) 
The subject in which admission is sought must be Hons subject at B.Sc (Hons.) level, a subject studied in all the three years at Graduate level; however, for admission to M.Sc in Botany, Zoology, a candidate must also have offered Chemistry as one of the subjects at the Graduate level 
Similarly, for admission in M.Sc in Statistics, a candidate must also have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at the Graduate level 

b) M.Sc in Biochemistry, Geology, Geophysics - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 B.Sc (Hons) in Biochemistry, B.Sc under at least 10+2+3 pattern with Biochemistry as a subject in all the three years of graduation course, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects (considering all the three years of B.Sc Course) 
B.Sc (Hons), B.Sc under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects with Physics, Maths and one more Science subject. Geology must be Hons subject at B.Sc (Hons) level, a subject studied in all the three parts at Graduate level 

c) M.Sc in Molecular & Human Genetics - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 B.Sc (Hons), B.Sc (10+2+3) OR B.Sc (Ag) OR MBBS or B.Tech, B.E (in Biology related disciplines) OR B.Pharma from recognized University, Institutes with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade points) at the qualifying examinations and not less than 55% marks at 10 and at 10+2 examinations separately

B. PROFESSIONAL COURSES

(i) Institute of Medical Sciences 

M.Sc in Health Statistics - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 B.Sc (Hons), B.Sc under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects (considering all the three years of B.Sc Course). Statistics must be Hons subject at B.Sc (Hons) level,a subject studied in all the three parts at B.Sc level 

(ii) Institute of Agricultural Sciences 

M.Sc (Ag) (Master of Science in Agriculture) in Agricultural Economics; Agronomy; Animal Husbandry & Dairying; Entomology & Agricultural Zoology; Extension Education; Genetics & Plant Breeding; Horticulture; Mycology & Plant Pathology; Plant Physiology; Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 i) Candidates with 4-years B.Sc (Ag) degree with credit based course program under the guidelines of ICAR or an equivalent exam; ii) Candidates with 4-years B.Sc (Horti.) Degree with credit based course program under the guidelines of ICAR will be considered for M.Sc (Ag) Horticulture only; iii) 6.00,10 or 2.5,4, 3.5,5, 4.0,6 OGPA for general candidates; iv) Has not secured more than one III-division or equivalent OGPA in his, her academic career 

(iii) Faculty of Visual Arts 

M.F.A. in Painting, Applied Arts, Plastic Arts, Pottery & Ceramics, Textile Design - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Passed B.F.A in the subject concerned (10+2+4 pattern or 10+5 pattern) securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate 

(iv) Faculty of Performing Arts 

a) MPA in Vocal, Instrumental (Sitar, Violin, Flute, Tabla) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 

Eligibility: B.Mus. in Vocal, Instrumental in North Indian Classical Music (Sitar, Violin, Flute or Tabla) from this University or an equivalent Exam from a recognised University securing a minimum of 50% marks in Music Practical; OR 
BA (Hons),BA under at least 10+2+3 pattern with Music (North Indian Classical Music) as a subject from this University or an equivalent Exam from a recognized University securing a minimum of 50% marks in Music Practical; music must be the Hons subject at BA (Hons) level, a subject studied in all the three parts at the graduate level 

b) MPA in Dance: Kathak,Bharat Natyam - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 

Eligibility: B.Mus., BPA in Dance in Indian Classical Dance (Kathak, Bharat Natyam) from this University or an equivalent Examination from a recognised University securing a minimum of 50% marks in Dance Practical; or 
BPA Indian Classical Dance, BA* or an equivalent Examination with Dance (Indian Classical) as the main subject from a recognized University securing a minimum of 50% marks in Dance Practical 

(v) Faculty of Education 

a) M.Ed (Master of Education) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed Program should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in any of the following programmes: (i) B.Ed. (ii) BA B.Ed B.Sc, B.Ed (iii) B.EI.Ed (iv) D.EI.Ed with an undergraduate, postgraduate degree (with 50% marks in each) or any equivalent grade 

b) M.Ed-Special Education (VI) - Duration: 2 Semesters (1 Year) 
Eligibility:
 Graduate under 10+2+3 pattern plus B. Ed. -Special Education (VI) (Visual Impairment), B.Ed. with at least One Year Diploma in Special Education (V.I.) from recognized institution with 50% marks in B.Ed-Special Education (V.I.),B.Ed or; 
Any Post Graduate Degree plus B.Ed-Special Education (V.I.), B.Ed with at least One Year Diploma in Special Education (VI) from recognized institution with 50% marks in B.Ed-Special Education (VI), B.Ed 

(vi) Faculty of Arts 

a) M.A. in Mass Communication - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility: 
Graduate Degree in any discipline under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at Graduate level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet; (OR) Post-graduate Degree in any subject securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate, both at Graduate and Post-Graduate levels 

b) M.A. in Museology - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 M.A. in History of Art, Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, History, Sanskrit securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate after Graduation under at least 10+2+3 pattern 
c) M.A. in Manuscriptology and Paleography (under Dept of Library and Information Science) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 BA (Hons), BA under 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at B.A level; the Honours subject at BA (Hons) Level should be Indian Languages, Oriental Languages, History, AIHC, Philosophy, History of Arts, Linguistics (OR); MA with 50% marks in the above subjects 

d) M.Lib.I.Sc (Master of Library & Information Science) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Graduate degree under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate including all subjects studied at Graduate level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet 

e) M.P.Ed (Master of Physical Education) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2Years) 
Eligibility:
 Graduate degree under at least 10+2+3 pattern with one year Degree or Diploma in Physical Education securing at least 50% marks in the aggregate at Degree, Diploma in Physical Education; (OR) Four years Bachelor of Physical Education (Professional) Degree securing at least 50% marks in the aggregate 

(vii) Faculty of Law 

LL.M (Master of Laws) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 3-Year LLB after Graduation under at least 10+2+3 pattern or five years LLB under 10+2+5 pattern recognised by the Bar Council of India securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in LL.B degree 

(viii) Faculty of Science 

MCA (Master of Computer Applications) (Main Campus & RGSC*) - Duration: 6 Semesters (3 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Bachelor’s Degree under at least 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate (including all subjects studied at Bachelor's level except those subjects where only pass marks are required and which do not contribute to the total in the final (degree) marksheet) with Mathematics as one of the subjects at either Intermediate or +2 (10+2) or equivalent exam, or; Bachelor’s level (as a main or a subsidiary subjects) 

(ix) Mahila Mahavidyalaya 

a) M.Sc in Bioinformatics [For Females only] - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 (A) 10+2 with Science and (B) Bachelor’s degree under at least 10+2+3 pattern in Science, Engineering, Technology, Agriculture, Medicine, Veterinary Science, Pharmaceutics with at least 50% marks in the aggregate 

Note: i) Course is open for female candidates only; ii)For all courses the applicants having a degree equivalent to the degree of qualifying exam recognized by the Banaras Hindu University are also eligible (if they satisfy all other requirements for admission in the concerned course) 

b) MA (Master of Education) (for Females only) - Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Years) 
Eligibility:
 Graduate under at least 10+2+3 pattern with Education (Hons.),having Education as a subject in any of the three years, or any graduate under 10+2+3 pattern plus B.Ed., B.Ed. (Spl.) securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at Graduation level

C - SPECIAL COURSES OF STUDY

Candidates are advised to take note of the following: 
i) The admission to following special courses will be made on the basis of merit in the entrance tests; however, if the number of applicants for a particular special course is less than twice the minimum number of seats, no entrance test shall be conducted 
In that case, admission to the special course would be made on the basis of merit in the qualifying examinations and, or written, subjective test conducted by the Depts, Faculty

Every SC,ST candidate shall have to submit a self attested copy of the Certificate mentioning that the candidate belongs to SC,ST community; such certificates shall be subject to verification from the concerned District Magistrate. The following are empowered to issue the certificate:

ii) Other Backward Classes (OBCs): 27% Reservation to candidates belonging to OBC category (excluding under creamy layer) will be provided in different courses; the authorities to issue the OBC certificate are the same as in case of SC,ST provided in section 4 (i) above 

iii) Physically Challenged: 3% seats shall be reserved for Physically Challenged Candidates: Visually Impaired (1%) + Hearing Impaired (1%) + Orthopaedically Handicapped (1%) (on horizontal reservation basis); such candidates will have to submit a self attested copy of Disability Certificate issued by the District CMO with the Application Form 

iv) 15% seats out of total number of seats in M.P.Ed are allocated for female candidates; in case any such seats remain vacant, these will be filled by male candidates on merit

The University has created its Entrance Test Portal with the domain name www.bhuonline.in; its link is also available on the BHU website (www.bhu.ac.in

The entire process of making an application for admission in various courses during the academic session 2017-18 has been made online 

Accordingly, candidates may note that PET 2017 Information Bulletin and Application Form will not be sold (as there will be no offline mode) and the candidates desirous of admissions shall be required to register on the Entrance Test portal of BHU and fill up the application form online as per procedure provided on the Portal

Application Processing, Entrance Test Fee 

The Candidate shall pay the following Application Processing Fee, Entrance Test fee

Mode of Payment of Application Processing,Test Fee 

Candidate is required to fill up the PET 2017 Application Form On-Line, as the University will not sell the printed Information Bulletin-cum-Application Form; after the candidate has filled up the application form online, he, she will have following options for payment of Application Processing, Entrance Test Fee: 

a) Online payment through credit card, debit card through the payment gateway available on the Entrance test portal 

b) Payment of Entrance Test Fee in Cash through “Challan” in any branch of HDFC Bank: After filling up the application form, its submission and selecting this mode for payment, the candidate can print the Challan from the entrance test portal 
The printout of challan will contain all necessary details of the candidate, bank account details of the Banaras Hindu University in which the entrance test fee will be deposited and the exact amount to be deposited 
The candidate will be required to visit any branch of the HDFC Bank of his, her choice where he, she will be required to deposit the requisite Fee amount to the Bank

Entrance Test Centres

Admit Card 

1. Candidates can download the Admit Card from the BHU Entrance Test Portal (www.bhuonline.in) around one week prior to date of conduct of test providing the unique registration ID allotted to them at the time of online submission of application form 
2. SMS alert on the mobile phone registered by the candidate regarding loading of Admit Card will also be sent. Therefore, the candidates are advised to give correct e-mail addresses, mobile phone numbers for correspondence while filling up the online application form 

3. If a candidate is unable to download the Admit Card till 03 days before the date of the Test, he,she should contact the Office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU, Varanasi on Help DeskPhone No. 08574587668 and help desk Email ID available on Entrance Test Portal 

Result 

The University shall try to announce the results of the candidates around 3rd - 4th week of June 2017 which would be available on BHU’s Entrance Test portal ww.bhuonline.in. In addition, marks obtained by the candidate in the test, his,her overall merit and merit within the category to which he,she belongs shall be e-mailed at his,her registered email address and sent through SMS at his,her registered mobile number provided by the candidate in the application form 
Therefore, the candidates are advised to give correct e-mail addresses,mobile phone numbers for correspondence

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEE Board) has announced the exam dates for JECA-2017, which will be conducted in June 2017. The JECA will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017. WB JECA is conducted for taking admission to Master of Computer Application (MCA) program in various institutions in West Bengal for the session 2017.

Eligibility Criteria for WB JECA 2017:

Candidate must have passed 3 years bachelor degree prom UGC recognized university with at least 60% in honors/ aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates) or AICTE recognized BCA from any university/institute with 60% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) in mathematics at bachelors level.

Paper Pattern for WB JECA 2017:

The test consists of two papers namely; Mathematics and Aptitude test.

All questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. Each question will have four answer options of which only one is correct.

Correct response will fetch full marks. No response will fetch zero mark.

One fourth of the full mark will be deducted for incorrect response.
