National Institute Of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar), an Institute of National Importance under the NIT Act was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College (REC), Silchar. NIT Silchar is situated on the banks of river Barak. In the year 2002, it was upgraded to the status of an NIT from a Regional Engineering College (REC).

Eligibility:

There are two Groups (A and B) of admission under Ph.D. Program

GROUP A: Ph.D. Program - Regular Category who may receive fellowship from the MHRD / CSIR/UGC or any other recognized funding agency

Fellowship: As per MHRD / CSIR / UGC guidelines.

Research Fellowship is available to the scholars who are admitted to Ph.D. programmes in different departments subject to the availability as stipulated by Ministry of Human Resources Development. The award and renewal of the fellowship is as per the guidelines issued by MHRD, from time to time.

Eligibility for application in GROUP A:

1.      Students for admission into Ph.D. Programs in Engineering Departments must satisfy one of the following criteria:

i)M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks). For SC/ST candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks). and

ii)B.E./B.Tech. with an excellent academic record with valid GATE score and with a CPI of at least 8.0 (on 10 point scale) or equivalent (75% of marks). For graduates from IITs/NITs, the minimum CPI requirement is 7.0 (on 10 point scale). For SC/ST candidates, there is a relaxation of 0.5 CPI or 5% of marks.

2.      Students for admission into the Ph.D. Programs in Science departments must have a Master degree in the relevant discipline ) with a valid GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET score for admission with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks). For SC/ST candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks) ) with a valid GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET score for admission.

3.      Students for admission into the Ph.D. Programs in Management Studies departments must have a Master’s degree in Business Administration or Master’s degree in Engineering /Technology with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks) or Master degree in other disciplines with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks)For SC/ST candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks) . A valid score in NET / GATE/UGC / CAT / ATMA / XAT / MAT is required for all.

4.      Students for admission into the Ph.D. Programs in Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Department must have a Masters degree in any field a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks) and a valid GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET score for admission. For SC/ST candidates, a minimum CPI of 5.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (50% of marks) and a valid GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET score for admission

GROUP B: Ph.D. Program–No financial assistance or stipend by NIT Silchar will be provided for this GROUP.

Following students will be considered under this GROUP:

I)                  REGULAR- The regular students are those who work full-time for their Ph.D. and self-financed.

II)               SPONSORED-who are employed in a Central/State Govt. Departments/PSUs/Reputed Educational Institutes/Research organizations/Reputed Industries for doing research in the Institute on a full-time basis. He / She should have at least two years of working experience in the respective field. The candidate must submit the filled-in sponsorship letter (FORM I) from the employer with the application for admission. He / She shall not be entitled to any financial support from the Institute.

III)            PART-TIME This category refers to the candidates who are professionally employed personnel. They have to stay in the Institute/around the Institute at least during the period of course work so that they can attend regular classes as per the Institute academic norm. The applicant must be an employee of a State/Central Govt. Departments/PSUs/ Reputed Educational Institutes/Research organizations/Reputed Industries at the time of admission having at least one year experience in the discipline in which admission is sought. No financial assistance shall be provided by the Institute to such students. A No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institute/Organization, in which he/she is employed, must be enclosed with application in FORM II.

IV)             PROJECT STAFF This category refers to the candidates who work on sponsored projects in the Institute.

V)                SPONSORED (EXTERNAL REGISTRATION) - Candidates employed in R&D organizations / educational Institutes having adequate research facilities. Sponsorship certificate (FORM III) from the Head of the organization where the candidate is employed must be enclosed at the time of application.

VI)             INSTITUTE EMPLOYEES- Employees of NIT Silchar

Allahabad University CRET 2018 - The University of Allahabad shall conduct Combined Research Entrance Test- 2018 (CRET-2018) at Allahabad for admission to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil.) (hereinafter referred to as D.Phil. Program) of the University of Allahabad for the session 2018-19 in the subjects.

Details of Program:

All candidates seeking admission to the D.Phil. Program of the University of Allahabad for thesession 2018-19, in the subjects listed in para, shall have to qualify in the Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET-2018) to be conducted by the Allahabad University at Allahabad

All candidates, including candidates exempted in Level 1 Test, shall be required to fulfill the following Eligibility Criteria for appearing in CRET-2018 and for admission to the D.Phil. Program.

Eligibility:

·         Candidates who have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC)/Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) shall be exempted from the Level 1 Test of CRET examination conducted by the University of Allahabad

·         A minimum score at the Post-graduate Examination of 55% marks (or the equivalent Letter Grade/Grade Point under the seven-point Letter Grade Scale), laid down by the UGC in the case of General candidates and 50% marks (or the equivalent Letter Grade / Grade Point) in the case of OBC/SC/ST/PH candidates

·         For the purposes of Criterion 1.02.1, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate shall not be rounded-off to the next higher integer

·         A minimum average score in the entire academic career of 54% marks (or the equivalent Letter Grade/Grade Point) in the case of General/OBC candidates; or 49% marks (or the equivalent Letter Grade/Grade Point) in the case of SC/ST/PH candidates

·         Provided further, If the candidate desires to appear at Level 1 of the CRET examination he/she is allowed to appear at Level 1 of CRET examination, but his eligibility shall be determined only on the basis of the marks obtained by him/her in the CRET Exam

Categories of candidates shall be exempted from the Level 1 & Level 2 Tests, both:

·         All the candidates selected by the University Grants Commission (UGC)/Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), subject to the validity norms of the respective fellowship. However, such candidates who have been selected for JRF are desires of appearing at Level 1 and Level 2 of the CRET-2018 exam, they are allowed to appear in CRET-2018 exam conducted by University of Allahabad

·         Provided further the eligibility of such candidates shall be determined only on the basis of the marks obtained by him/her in the CRET exam

·         Candidates for D.Phil in the Dept. of Electronics and Communication with M.Tech/M.E in Electronics Engineering or equivalent subjects or M.Tech/ME in Computer Science & Engineering or equivalent Subjects

·         Candidates for D.Phil in the Dep. of Earth and Planetary Sciences with M.Tech in Geology/Applied geology or Geo-Physics who have valid GATE score before the last date of applying for CRET and have a GATE score of not less than 75%

·         There shall be negative marking in objective-type questions; for every correct answer 4 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted

Minimum Qualifying Marks

For General and OBC Category Candidates: Level 1 will be qualifying for Level 2 and Level 2 will be qualifying for Level 3.However, for Level 3, marks of Level 2 only will be considered. In order to qualify Level 1, 40% marks are essential. Similarly, to qualify for Level 3, 40% marks at Level 2 is necessary. However, if a candidate fails to score 40% marks at Level 1 or at Level 2, he/she shall be eligible for Level 3 provided that the total marks at Level 1 and Level 2 is 50%; the merit of Level 2 only will be considered for Level 3

For SC/ST/PH Category Candidates: Level 1 will be qualifying for Level 2 &Level 2 will be qualifying for Level 3. However, for Level 3, marks of Level 2 only will be considered. In order to qualify Level 1, 35% marks are essential. Similarly, to qualify for Level 3, 35% marks at Level 2 is necessary. However, if a candidate fails to score 35% marks at Level 1 or at Level 2, he/she shall be eligible for Level 3 provided that the total marks at Level 1 and Level 2 is 40%. The merit of Level 2 only will be considered for Level 3

Exam Pattern 

Level 1 Test

This test is of objective type questions and it is divided into two sections - Section A and Section B. Negative Marking for wrong answers is applicable for Level 1 Test

Section A

General Awareness, Academic and Research Aptitude: This Section of the paper will comprise of 50 multiple choices type objective questions of the subject opted by the candidate. All questions are to be attempted. Each question carries four marks. Duration of this Section will be 01:30 hours

Section B

Subject Proficiency in the CRET 2018 subject applied for: This Section will comprise of 50 multiple choices type questions of the subject opted by the candidate. All questions are to be attempted. Each question carries four marks. Duration of this Section will be 01:30 hours

Note

Test for Level 1 - Section A and Level 1 - Section B will be in continuation. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam room in between the two Sections

Immediately after completion of Section A duration, i.e. 1:30 hours, the question/answer booklet for Section A will be collected and simultaneously question booklet and answer sheet for Section B will be distributed. Total duration of Level 1 Test (Level 1 A and Level 1 B) is 3 hours

Level 2 (Written Subject Test)

This test is of subjective type based on the subject of CRET-2018 opted by the candidate in its online registration and eligibility

The duration of Level 2 (Written Subject Test) of CRET-2018 shall be two hours and the total marks shall be 200; this test will comprise of 3 sections consisting of Short Answer (10 questions of 10 marks each to be answered in 200 words), Medium Answer (3 questions of 20 marks each to be answered in 200 words) and Long Answer question (1 question of 40 marks to be answered in 400 words)

In all 14 questions are to be answered in Level 2 Test. There may or may not be internal choices within each question

Application Fees

·         Test Fees for candidates required to appear for (Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Tests) or (Level 2 and Level 3 Tests)

·         For General/OBC: Rs.1500/-

·         For ST/SC/PH/VH: Rs.700/-

·         Test fees for candidates exempted from the Level 1 and Level 2 Tests, and required to appear only for the Level 3 Test

·         For General / OBC- Rs.1200/-

·         For ST/SC/PH/VH: Rs.700/-

·         It should be noted that the Test Fees shall not be refunded or carried over in case the application of the candidate is rejected, or his/her candidature is cancelled at any stage, or he/she does not appear wholly or partially for CRET-2018

How to Apply:

Application Form:

·         A candidate who fulfils the minimum Eligibility Criteria and seeks to appear in CRET-2018 in a Subject that is available and is also admissible to him/her must complete, and submit through the Internet, as per modality and schedule set out in the following paras, the prescribed Online Application/Registration Form for appearing for the Level 1 Test /Level 2 Test /Level 3 Test (as the case may be) at CRET-2018 in the concerned/admissible Subject and must remit, within due time, the prescribed Test Fees to the University

·         Candidate is strongly advised to familiarize himself/herself with the Schedule for different processes/stages of CRET-2018

·         The On-line Application/Registration Form for CRET-2018 shall be accessible only during the dates specified in the Schedule at the University’s Website for CRET, namely www.aupravesh.org

·         Before proceeding to fill and submit the On-line Application/Registration Form for CRET-2018, the candidate is strongly advised to carry out the following tasks for his/her own convenience:

i.        Take a Printout of this Bulletin (Information and Guidelines) and read it carefully

ii.      Take a Print-out of the CRET-2018 Syllabus of the Subject in which he/she desires, and is eligible, to appear

iii.    Read thoroughly the Instructions for the filling and submission of the Online Form

iv.   Review and ensure the correctness of the details of his/her academic record at the High School and Intermediate (or equivalent) and the Graduation and Post graduation level, for purposes of making required entries in the On-line Form

v.     Get his/her latest Passport-size Color Photograph and his signature scanned by Computer, so that the scanned Photograph and Signature can be submitted with the Online Form; the original of the scanned Photograph should be carefully preserved for submission to the CRET-2018 Committee in the manner specified.

·         Once the candidate has been Registered he/she should view and take a print copy (Print-out) of his/her Admit Card from the date 20th August 2018 by entering his/her Application ID

·         The candidates should, thereafter send it to "The Director- CRET-2018, Monirba, Chatham Lines Campus, University of Allahabad, Allahabad-211002" by registered or speed post

·         Candidates cannot submit more than one application form for CRET-2018; any candidate who submits more than one, will be disqualified or his forms will be cancelled.

AMAR JYOTI CHARITABLE TRUST Amar Jyoti is a voluntary organization rendering rehabilitative services to persons with disabilities through integrated education, medical care, vocational training, child guidance and self-employment since 1981.  It has a branch rendering similar services for the last 25 years in Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh). With the pioneering concept of integration and inclusion, Amar Jyoti is running a school in Delhi and Gwalior where over 500 and 300 children, respectively, with and without disability are studying together in equal number. 

In addition to OPD patients medical care and rehabilitative services are provided free of cost to all school children, economically weaker sections of the society and members of the Amar Jyoti staff. The institution has organized 5 National Integrated Sports Meet. Amar Jyoti also introduced Abilympics – Olympics of abilities for persons with disabilities in India.  As a nodal agency of National Abilympic, Association of India it co-ordinates the Regional, National and International Abilympics. India hosted the 6th International Abilympics in 2003. Amar Jyoti is running a community based rehabilitation project in 10 urban slums of East Delhi where all necessary services for rehabilitation are provided. 

The Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy (affiliated to University of Delhi) conducts a 4 ½  year Bachelor of Physiotherapy program (Inclusive of six month Internship).The curriculum has been developed keeping in mind an ever increasing knowledge base that is anchored in scientific evidence . Eligibility:

MPT [Specialization in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Neurological Physiotherapy] 2 years: General/ Reserved Category (SC/ ST/ OH). 

Candidates should have fulfilled at least ONE of the following conditions: 

a. Successful completion of an undergraduate physiotherapy degree (B.Sc. (PT) / BPT) from a recognized college/institute/university within India of not less than 4½ years duration (including 6 months of internship) with 50% of aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/OH) in university exams. Candidates who have completed 3 ½ years course and an additional bridge course of 1 year will be considered equivalent to 4 ½ years course. 

b. An undergraduate physiotherapy qualification (B.Sc. (PT) / BPT etc.) of 3 ½ years duration from a recognized college/ institute/ university plus at least 10 years of work experience.

Note: 

A SC/ ST candidate while applying for admission will be required to submit a certificate to the effect that he/ she belongs to that particular category from competent authority. List of authorities can be obtained from administration office of the Institute on request.

The candidate must have passed Senior School Certificate Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (12 years)/ Indian School Certificate Examination of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination/ Intermediate/ Pre-medical Examination or an Examination recognised as equivalent thereto with 50% marks or more (45% marks or more for reserved category) in the aggregate of four subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English Core) as main subjects provided the student has passed each subject separately. Candidate should be declared overall passed on the mark sheet.
2. The candidate should be minimum 17 year of age on 31st December in the year of admission.

The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics - 100, Physics + Chemistry - 100) in the qualifying exam

Normalisation of Marks and Inter-se Merit

·         As per Tamil Nadu the marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying exam conducted by various Boards or Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying exam conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu by adopting the method of normalization

·         If the highest mark secured by the student of State Board of Tamil Nadu in Physics is 100 and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject are 90 both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100

·         If a student of the other Board secures 60 marks in Physics when the first mark in Physics in the same Board is 90, 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66 marks

·         In the case of candidates who have qualified from National Boards such as CBSE, ISCE etc. the highest mark obtained in the relevant subject by the candidates at the National Level alone will be taken into consideration for normalization

·         A merit list will be prepared based on the total mark of 200

·         The overall rank and Community wise rank lists will be published in Anna University website. Separate announcement will not be given in Newspapers.

Admission of Vocational Stream Candidates

·         100 seats in Category I and 4% of seats surrendered in Category II have been set apart vide G.O. (Ms.) No. 290 HE (J2) Dept. dt.: 21st Aug. 2007 for the HSC (vocational stream) candidates

·         The academic marks in the prescribed subjects will be reduced to 200 (Related subject 100 marks, vocational subject including theory and practical 100 marks)

Admission to Sandwich Courses

·         Sandwich courses in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Production Engineering are offered at PSG College of Technology under self-financing scheme; the duration of the course is 5 years; it comprises of practical training in the mornings and class work in the evenings

How to apply:

·         Candidates can register through Internet from anywhere by logging on to the official TNEA Web portals https://www.tnea.ac.in or https://www.annauniv.edu/tnea2018

·         The procedure for Registration is available in the web portal

·         Candidates have to submit the online application either in person or by post along with photocopies of Mark Sheet(s), Proof of Age and copies of all other relevant certificates to the Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai-600025 on or before the last date

·         Candidates can pay the registration fee either through online payment mode or by a demand draft

·         Candidates allotted during counselling will be given the provisional allotment order and a receipt for Rs.5000/- (or Rs.1000/- in the case of SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamilnadu

Guidelines for Registration and Filling of Online Application

·         Read the Information and Instructions to Candidates carefully before filling the application form. Use a valid and functional (separate) e-mail ID/Mobile number for Registration of each candidate.

·         Mode of Payment is only through Payment Gateway (Internet Banking/Credit card/ATM-cum-Debit Card)

·         In addition, to the Registration Fee of Rs.500/ or Rs.250/-(for ST/SC/SCA Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) the applicant has to pay applicable Bank charges (Payment Gateway)

·         After filling in all the essential details required in the Online Application; you can either select, 'SAVE AND LOGOUT' or 'SAVE AND PREVIEW'. The 'SAVE AND LOGOUT' option allows you to modify the entered data. Once you select the 'PRINT' option, you cannot modify the entered details

·         Review the details entered in the Application before pressing 'PRINT' button and make corrections if required

·         Your Application number will be generated, and the number will be printed in the application. Note down the application number for future reference

·         Download the filled-in application generated in the online system and keep it for your future correspondences.

·         All Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of "The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions" payable at Chennai, drawn on any Nationalised Bank dated on or after last date; candidates are instructed to write the name and address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft

NIIFT, The department of Industries & Commerce, Govt. Of Punjab, established Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology, in 1995, comprehending and visualizing the need of trained professionals in the arena of Textile and Garment Industry. An MOU was signed with the National institute of Fashion Technology,New Delhi for steering and supporting in admission procedure, faculty recruitment and training as well as curriculum scheduling and upgrading. Eligibility:

B.Sc. Fashion Design (FD)

A three year undergraduate degree program after 10+2 is designed for those interested to make their career in the dynamic and charismatic world of Fashion Design. The course is divided into six semesters, which gradually evolve and sensitise the student's understanding of fundamentals of fashion business.

B.Sc. Fashion Design Knits (FDK)

A three year undergraduate degree program after 10+2 is designed to cater to the specific demands of the fast-emerging Textile and Knitwear industry. Areas of study include skill development, knitting knitwear designing, dyeing and printing, knitting technology, production and merchandising.

B.Sc. Textile Design (TD)

A Three-year Undergraduate degree program after 10+2 is spread over six semesters. Areas of study include skill development, weaving, textile designing, dying and printing, textile technology and development of textiles and related products

M.Sc. Garment Manufacturing Technology (GMT):

A two year Post Graduate Degree Programme after Graduation is divided into four semesters. This programme integrates the principles of Management, Technology and Fashion Business. Therefore, it is aptly called a "Techno-Managerial" Course

M.Sc. Fashion Marketing & Management (FMM):

A two-year Post Graduate Degree Program after Graduation is designed to fulfill the requirements of the retail industry in the country. It prepares highly competent and well-trained fashion marketing and management professionals. The course covers all aspects of the upcoming retail industry

Reservation of Seats

·         The reservation policy followed by NIIFT for seats in each program is as follows (Subject to the condition of defined eligibility)

·         SC - 25%

·         PH - 03%

·         Foreign National/NRI - 07 seats

·         General - Rests

·         SC Candidates: Candidates applying under this reserved quota would have to produce a Caste/Tribe certificate from Competent Authority of respective State /Union Territories/National Commission of Tribes

·         PH Candidates: Candidates seeking admission under this physically handicapped quota must produce a Disability Certificate issued by Medical Board attached with Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (VRC) working under Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India, certifying their disability as 40% or more

·         Foreign/NRI Candidates: 07 seats in each discipline are reserved for admission of Foreign Nationals whether residing in India or abroad, applicants from Non-Resident Indians are as specified in Income Tax Act 1961

·         The admission to NIIFT Programs to NRI/ Foreign Nationals will be offered on first come first serve basis

Test City Centres

·         Entrance test will be conducted on 03rd June 2018 (Sunday) in following cities Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Patna

·         On such downloaded Admit Cards the candidates are required to affix their photograph (similar to that affixed on the Application Form) on the downloaded Admit Card and get it attested by a Gazetted Officer/school Or College Principal for producing at Exam
