Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is India’s first Public Health University. The Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is working towards building a healthier India. IIPHG is an example of visionary leadership of Honourable Shri Narendra Modi (then Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat), who laid the foundation stone and provided support for establishing the institute in 2008. Government of Gujarat and Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) entered an MoU in 2007 to establish IIPHG. Eligibility:

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Students who have a Bachelor’s degree (e.g. B.A., B.Sc., B.Tech, BCom, MBBS) in any discipline with a minimum of 55% (5.5 CGPA for students with letter grades/CGPA) aggregate marks for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% (5.0 CGPA for students with letter grades/CGPA) aggregate marks for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree, are eligible to apply for admission to the Master’s program in Cognitive Science. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Design

Eligibility:

(The qualifications mentioned are required to be from accredited/recognised institutes or universities of India1 OR equivalent qualifications from foreign educational institutes2.)

To be eligible for selection to the PhD programme, the candidate must be a citizen of India and hold at least one of the following qualifications:

A Master’s level qualification3 in Design,

OR

A Bachelor’s level qualification in Design4 from NID,

PLUS

A minimum of 3 years of professional or teaching experience.

OR

Master’ s degree in Philosophy(eg, M.Phil) in Design

OR

Successful completion of Faculty Development Programme of NID

or

of a similar program for the Design field of at least two years from any other recognised University.

Candidates who are scheduled to complete the final year of their qualifying examinations and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for the PhD programme. In such cases, their candidature shall be provisional and confirmation of selection shall be subject to successful completion of the qualifying exams. Provisional acceptance will be confirmed only if the candidates secure the minimum grade/marks in their qualifying examination and submit its results to the Institute before the commencement of the programme. Failing this, the provisional status granted to such candidates shall automatically stand cancelled.

Eligibility:

A graduate from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ST/DAP (Differently Abled Person)) aggregate marks at the graduation level can apply for admission. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned university or institution. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IRMA by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100. Students in final year of their graduation can apply if they expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before July 01, 2020.

Eligibility:

The following shall be the minimum eligibility for selection to the PhD programme:

a)    Master’s degree in Design from an accredited institution or recognised University or Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Design from the National Institute of Design, Advanced Entry Programme or five-five and a half year School Leavers’ Professional Education Programme Diploma in Design from the National Institute of Design. OR

b)    Master’s degree in Architecture or Fine Arts or Applied Arts from a recognised institution or University with 55 percent marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or an equivalent foreign degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognised or authorised by an authority established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions and having a graduate or post graduate degree, in Design. OR

c)    Bachelor’s degree in Design from National Institute of Design or National Institute of Design’s Graduate Diploma Programme in Design with three years’ of professional or teaching experience or both. OR

d)    Four and a half year School Leavers’ Professional Education Programme Diploma in Design with three years of professional or teaching experience or both. OR

e)    Master’ s degree in Philosophy (in Design) with 55 per cent. marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or an equivalent foreign degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognised or authorised by an authority established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions. f)    Individuals who have successfully completed a Faculty Development Programme in Design having two years or more duration from the National Institute of Design or any other recognised University.

Candidates who are scheduled to complete the final year of their qualifying examinations and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for the PhD programme. In such cases, their candidature shall be provisional and confirmation of selection shall be subject to successful completion of the qualifying exams. Provisional acceptance will be confirmed only if the candidates secure the minimum grade/marks in their qualifying examination and submit its results to the Institute before the commencement of the programme. Failing this, the provisional status granted to such candidates shall automatically stand cancelled.

Selection Process

·         RMA would short list candidates on the bases of CAT 2018 and XAT 2019 scores.

·         Short listed candidates will be called for selection process at IRMA where they will have to take the IRMA Social Awareness Test 2019 (IRMA SAT 2019), Group Activity and Personal Interview.

·         For Admissions 2019, IRMA will be giving two types of calls to the prospective candidates:

·         Profile Based Calls

·         Non-Profile Based Calls

·         Candidates who score above 80 percentile in CAT 2018/XAT 2019 and fall in the Profile based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMA SAT and GA and PI process.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for admission to the FPRM 2019 programme an applicant must satisfy the following two conditions:

Anybody with a postgraduate or postgraduate equivalent degree/diploma from a recognized university or institution in any discipline with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade can apply. (5% less for those eligible for reservations). Those expecting to complete the final exams of these degrees by June 20, 2019 may also apply.

Qualifying Exams: Having valid scores/results of the last five years in any of the following standard qualifying exams or tests.

i) CAT/XAT

ii) GMAT/GRE

iii) UGC-JRF/NET

iv) CSIR-JRF/NET

v) ICAR-SRF

vi) ICAR/ASRB-NET

·         The cut-off period for validity of the qualifying exam or test score is five years preceding the last date specified for the submission of application form to FPRM. Valid scores obtained from February 20, 2014 onwards in all the specified qualifying exams are eligible.

·         Those with PGDRM from IRMA and PGP from any of the IIMs (including Agri-Business Management) are exempted from the above qualifying tests or validity period.

·         IRMA follows the statutory reservation policy of Government of India. Seats not filled by candidates of the reserved category will be offered to the general category.

·         Merely fulfilling eligibility criteria may not entitle a candidate for a personal interview or automatic admission to FPRM.

Research Proposal:

All eligible applicants must submit along with their application a preliminary research proposal of about 2000 words. The proposal should cover topic/problem of the proposed research, its relevance, objectives and methodology of the study, and expected results or findings.

Selection Process

The applications will be screened by the designated selection committee of IRMA on the basis of multiple parameters like academic qualification, test scores, research proposal, and reservation. The selection committee will arrive at screening and cut-off criteria depending on the response. Those found eligible as per screening will be called for the personal interview (PI). The final selection will consist of presentation of the research proposal and personal interview and will focus on assessing research aptitude, subject knowledge/clarity, analytical abilities, general personality, and perseverance of the candidate. The selection committee, if necessary, may conduct a short written test for those called for PI to assess their analytical and communication abilities. The decision of selection committee regarding the process and criteria will be final.
