About College:

Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), New Delhi was established in 1914. The college and hospital was formally opened by Lord Hardinge the then viceroy of India on in 1916. Since 1950, the college has been affiliated to University of Delhi. In view of considerable demand for post-graduate students, post-graduate courses were started in 1954 in affiliation with Punjab University and later on with University of Delhi in 1956. To start with only female post-graduate students were admitted, but since 1970 both males and female students are being enrolled for various postgraduate courses.

Presently LHMC is admitting 92 PG candidates. Post Graduate admission will be increased in the coming years to implement OBC reservation. Starting in 1916 with only 80 beds for the departments of Medicine, Obstetrics and gynecology, LHMC has now bed strength of 877 beds in Smt. S.K. Hospital and 370 beds in KalawatiSaran Children Hospital. A separate outpatient block was started in 1958 to cater to the needs of ever increasing population of Delhi.

Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’.

The story of its growth from a small institution in the pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi—offering integrated education from nursery to research in specialized areas—is a saga of dedication, conviction and vision of a people who worked against all odds and saw it growing step by step. They “built up the Jamia Millia stone by stone and sacrifice by sacrifice,” said Sarojini Naidu, the nightingale of India.

Conception

Under the colonial British rule, two dominant trends joined hands and contributed towards in the birth of Jamia. One was the anti-colonial Islamic activism and the other was the pro-independence aspiration of the politically radical section of western educated Indian Muslim intelligentsia. In the political climate of 1920, the two trends gravitated together with Mahatma Gandhi as a catalyst. The anti-colonial activism signified by the Khilafat and the pro-independence aspirations symbolised by the non-cooperation movement of the Indian National Congress helped to harness creative energies and the subsequent making of Jamia Millia Islamia. Rabindranath Tagore called it “one of the most progressive educational institutions of India”.

Responding to Gandhiji’s call to boycott all educational institutions supported or run by the colonial regime, a group of nationalist teachers and students quitAligarh Muslim University, protesting against its pro-British inclinations. The prominent members of this movement were Maulana Mehmud Hasan, Maulana Mohamed Ali, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, and Abdul Majid Khwaja.

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) was set up in the year 1982 by the Government ofIndia as an autonomous body for coordinated growth and development of hospitality education in the country.

Initially, the Council was set up as the National Board of Studies in Food Management, Catering & Nutrition under the administrative control of Ministry of Agriculture (Department of Food) and subsequently transferred to the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India in the year 1984. There are two exam mode:

Computer Based Test: (CBT) (for B.F.Tech. M.F.M. M.F.Tech only)

Paper Based Test: (PBT) (for all courses)

Eligibility

BDesign: The 10+2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi;

BFTech: The 10+2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Maths;

MDesign: Undergraduate degree from any institute/university recognized by law in India; or

Diploma in UG Design from NIFT/NID only

Master of Fashion Management: Undergraduate degree from any institute/university recognised by law in India; or

Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT/NID

Master of Fashion Technology: BFTech from NIFT; or

BE / BTech from any institute/university recognised by law in India

How to Apply:

Payment Mode: Credit cards /debit cards payments of application fee (Rs 1100/- or Rs 550/-) plus applicable bank charges can be made through credit cards/debit cards as explained during the process of online application

Payments of application fee (Rs 1100/- or Rs 550/-) plus applicable bank charges can be made through e-transfer as explained during the process of online application

Transfer from any Union Bank of India account will be free of charge

Applicants having no credit/ debit cards can also avail the facility of online admission by depositing application fee in cash at any branch of the Union Bank of India across the country

The Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) was established as an extension department of St Xavier’s College, Ranchi, in 1955 with the objective of training young men and women in Rural Development, Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. In 1973 the institute was registered as a separate educational society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. In 1978, it moved to its present site and over the years has developed its own distinct identity as a centre of excellence in management education, research, consultancy and development interventions.

XISS offers – Two Years Full-Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management approved by AICTE, New Delhi with specialization in:

Eligibility for Admission:

Minimum qualification for admission to the PGDM program at the Institute is three / four years bachelor’s degree in any discipline recognized by Association of Indian Universities with minimum 60% marks (50% for ST/SC candidates) or equivalent grade. However preference will be given to Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Management and Computer Science graduates and candidates with relevant work experience.

How to apply:-

Application Process:

The candidates will have to apply separately at XISS, Ranchi. A candidate can apply for maximum any 02 (Two) specializations. The institute will accept only online registrations. Candidates will have to submit separate application for different entrance exams ie if a candidate wants to apply through both XAT 2014 and CAT 2013, s/he will have to submit two different online applications at XISS by making separate payments for both the applications. Application fee is Rs 1,500 + Service Charges for One Specialization and Rs 2000 + Services Charges for Two Specialization. Application fee can be paid online through net banking / debit card / credit card or any other online option. Application fee can also be paid via bank draft, drawn in favour of "Xavier Institute of Social Service" payable at Ranchi. The bank draft for Rs 1500 (for one specialization) or Rs 2000 (for two specialization) can be drawn on any bank. The draft must be sent to the institute address given below within 15 days of application. The candidate must right his/her name and XAT/CAT/CMAT ID/Roll No. on the back of the bank draft.

 JOINT CSIR-UGC TEST FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP & ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURESHIP (NET) DECEMBER, 2010

CSIR will hold Joint CSIR-UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship (NET) December, 2010 Exam on Sunday the 19th December, 2010. The Application Form and Information Bulletin for this test will be available in the designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce from 10.08.2010 to 30.08.2010.

For the test, the candidate will have the option to apply either through Application Form available in the aforesaid Bank branches OR apply ONLINE at www.csirhrdg.res.in between 10.08.2010 to 30.08.2010. The candidate desirous to apply online will be required to deposit Examination Fee through Bank challan in any of the Indian Bank branches throughout the country. Multiple application or fee submitted in any other mode will be summarily rejected. Information Bulletin, detailed notification, Instructions for Online application, Syllabus, Sample question papers and Bank challan Proforma are available on our website.
