History and Evolution: In January 2017 the Cabinet had decided to set up an Institute of Excellence to commemorate the Intellectual legacy of Dr. B R Ambedkar.The Bengaluru Dr. B. R. Ambedkar School of Economics is registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act of 1960 (Act No. 17 of 1960). Hon. President Pranab Mukherjee on 14th April 2017 laid the foundation stone for the Dr B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics in the Bengaluru University campus on the 126th birth anniversary of the architect of the Indian Constitution. Dr. Anup K. Pujari (IAS retired) is the special officer of the School thus established. The Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economics, modeled on the London School of Economics, will begin classes from the upcoming academic year (2017-18) at the Jnana Bharathi campus of BangaloreUniversity. The Cabinet had allocated 43 acres of land for the purpose. The Karnataka government has sanctioned Rs 150 crore for setting up the school’s first phase, with an administrative block, student hostels, auditorium, three seminar halls and quarters for the faculty. The state government intends to run the School as an autonomous institution of international standard.

About College:

The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) serves as a regional Institute for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. It was established in Mumbai in July 1956, till July 1970 it was known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) and till 1985 it was known as the International Institute for Population Studies (IIPS). The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities and was declared as a 'Deemed University' in August 19, 1985 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution.

Started in 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations, it has established itself as the premier Institute for training and research in Population Studies for developing countries in the Asia and Pacific region. IIPS holds a unique position among all the regional centres, in that it was the first such centre to be started, and serves a much larger population than that served by any of the other regional centres. The Institute is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Besides teaching and research activities, the Institute also provides consultancy to the Government and Non-Government organizations and other academic institutions. Over the years, the Institute has helped in building a nucleus of professionals in the field of population and health in various countries of the ESCAP region. During the past 53 years, students from 42 different countries of Asia and the Pacific region, Africa and North America have been trained at the Institute. Many, who are trained at the Institute, now occupy key positions in the field of Population and Health in Government of various countries, Universities and Research Institutes as well as in reputed National and International organizations.

Eligibility Criteria 

Admission to this Institute is for children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and war widows of the Army only. The children of the following categories of Army personnel are eligible and are required to submit the relevant certificates (as given against the category) as proof of their eligibility for admission to AWES Professional Colleges along with the Application Form: 

Certificate Number 1 is applicable for the following: 

(i) Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years of continuous service in the Army 

(ii) Children of Ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board 

(iii) Children of Ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge or released after ten years of service 

Certificate Number 2 is applicable for the following: 

(i) Adopted Child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission 

(ii) Step Children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible 

Certificate Number 3 is applicable for the special cases: 

(i) Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN/IAF) 

(ii) Children of APS personnel classified as Ex- servicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence 

Academic Qualification 

The candidate should have passed 10+ 2 examination or its equivalent in any academic stream with English as a compulsory subject. Candidates can also apply provisionally, subject to the condition that they produce the proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission 
National Open Schooling Students (regular) should produce 11th Std. certificate from school (Admission is subject to the approval of Affiliated University). All provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination 10 + 2, or its equivalent is not submitted as required by due date 

Age Limit 

The candidate should not be more than 22 years of age as on 01st July 2018; the date of birth recorded in the matriculation or equivalent exam certificate will be considered as proof 

Physical Fitness 
Candidate should have good general health with satisfactory limits of chest expansion and contraction, normal vision and hearing. In case of defective vision, it must be corrected to 6/9 in both eyes or 6/6 in the better eye 

Selection Procedure 

Merit List - The admission will be strictly on merit ranking based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Written Admission Test (WAT) 

Relative Merit in case of equal marks. In case of candidates securing equal marks, their relative merit will be reassessed inter-se on the basis of securing higher aggregate marks in the qualifying exam, i.e. 10+2 or its equivalent which will be given first preference 
The decision of the Managing Committee in the selection of the candidates will be final

1.   Candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks in graduation from any statutory University (45% for reserved category).

2.   In case of PGDM (Executive Batch), candidate should have 2-3 years of industrial work experience as a full time employee in the field of Sales, Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, Operations, Systems and related areas of management in the industry is eligible. These applicants should submit the industry experience certificate signed by the Director(HR) or any other authorised signatory of the Company / Companies and copies of their Appointment Letters along with the application form. There will be no difference in the course curriculum for this batch and they will receive the same inputs as applicable to the PGDM Programs except for the fact that they can expect lateral placements with higher compensation packages. Those having lesser number of industrial experiences also get different and upgraded placements depending upon their corporate experience though they may not be admitted to the Executive Batch, but to the other courses.

3.   Relevant work experience means full time employment in any company and not in the family business. It also means working on full-time basis on the specialization departments in the company such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, Operations and so on. Only such candidates can expect differential compensations based on work experience. However the selection committee can look into all the other type of work experiences and consider award of marks.

4.   Candidates appearing for any final year Degree examination up to June 2018 can also apply. However, if they fail to match the above qualitative requirement when the result is declared for the graduation examination, they will be relieved from the course compulsorily. Same will be the case with respect to those who fail in their degree examination, which means a candidate should qualify his/her graduation examination with a minimum of 50% marks latest by the academic year 2018-19. The mark sheets should be submitted to the Institute.

5.   Medical Fitness should be as explained in this Handbook.

6.   Should be willing to comply with the Rules and Regulations of the Sri Balaji Society, Pune as explained in this Handbook.

Selection Procedure

Written Examination

We accept CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores. However, as CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores are issued to the students, any student who has appeared for the CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT examinations can apply for our courses with the CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores. Thus, all the four Management institutes will accept CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores. However, the XAT, MAT and CMAT scores will be equalized and validated to the CAT score value and that will only be counted for the purpose of merit list. Anyone having any objection to the same, need not to apply. We do not believe in any cut-off points as we give only 30% of the weightage for the entrance examination, while making the merit list.

The Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER) Mohali was established in 2007 by the Government of India, through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), to carry out research in frontier areas of science and to provide quality science education at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The foundation stone was laid on 27th September 2006 by the Prime Minister of India. The first Director Prof.N Sathyamurthy joined on 18th June 2007. Classes for the first MS (Int) batch began on 16th August 2007. The transit campus was inaugurated on 13th November 2007.

MS (Integrated) Program

The 5 yr MS (Int) program in Science at IISER Mohali admits students after 10+2. The course structure is interdisciplinary & research oriented in nature, with a focus on the basic sciences. The first two years of the program constitute a common core with courses from Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematics & Computer Science, Humanities & Social Sciences, as well as Interdisciplinary courses. Swami Vivekananda established Ramakrishna Mission as commanded by his Master, Sri Ramakrishna, for the secular and spiritual amelioration of humankind as a whole, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, nationality, gender or religion. The twofold aim of the Ramakrishna Mission is, in Swami Vivekananda's own Sanskrit slogan, atmano mokshartham jagaddhitaya cha ("For one's own spiritual emancipation and for the welfare of the world"). To achieve this aim at both the individual and the collective level, he established the Ramakrishna Mission, by which he "set in motion a machinery which will bring noble ideas to the door of everybody." Swamiji envisioned it as "a lever for the good of humanity…which no power can drive back." Swami Vivekananda made Belur Math the headquarters of the worldwide Ramakrishna Movement, comprising the twin organizations of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. He envisioned that Belur Math would be a centre of great harmony and synthesis, not only of all religious beliefs and traditions, but also of arts and sciences and the various branches of knowledge, both secular and spiritual. In fact, on 2 July 1902, just two days before he passed away, he prophesied, standing at the Belur Math grounds: "The spiritual impact that has come to Belur [Math] will last fifteen hundred years, and it will be a great University. Do not think I imagine it; I see it."
