About College:

The two-year programme of International Business at GITAM School of International Business is the flagship programme of erstwhile GITAM Institute of Foreign Trade (GIFT). The Programme has become popular throughout the country. Every year students are admitted on an average from 20 states, and they are successfully placed in Industry in India and abroad. In order to promote International Business further, two more Programmes are started in International Banking and Finance, and Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

For 2013-2015 Admissions, the following Programmes are offered:

Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), a unique institution devoted to the research, teaching and application of statistics, natural sciences and social sciences. Founded by Professor P.C. Mahalanobis in Kolkata on 17th December, 1931, the institute gained the status of an Institution of National Importance by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959.

The University of Delhi is the premier university of the country and is known for its high  standards in teaching and research and attracts  eminent scholars to  its faculty. It  was  established in  1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential  university by an Act of the then Central Legislative  Assembly.

The University thus had a modest beginning with just three colleges, two faculties (Arts and Science) and about 750 students. In October 1933, the University   offices and the Library shifted to the Viceregal Lodge Estate, and till today this site houses the offices of the main functionaries of the University. Phase II: If seats for MPhil, PhD in a particular program remain vacant after completing the process of Phase I, applications shall be invited for the admission test (UNIRAJ-MPAT 2018)

The UGC,CSIR NET,SLET,INSPIRE qualified candidates who failed to get admission in Phase I against 40% reserved seats, will be free to apply in UNIRAJ – MPAT Phase II for getting admission against remaining seats

Scheme of Exam of Uniraj-MPAT

There will be two papers for each MPhil/PhD Program and exam for both the papers shall be conducted in a single session of 3 hours duration. Duration of the Paper-I will be one hour, and duration of the Paper-II will be two hours

Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. The candidate will have to obtain minimum 50% marks in the Paper-I failing which Paper- Il will not be evaluated

Paper-II (Based on Subject) shall be intended to assess the domain knowledge of the candidate. The syllabus of Paper-II will be recommended by concerned Board of Studies or Committee of Courses

The Christian Medical College, Vellore has its grounding in research from the work started by Dr. Ida Sophia Scudder, its founder. Over the past century, CMC has contributed significantly not only to the provision of health care to the poor and needy but also in generating and advancing knowledge to improve the provision of curative and preventive services to the people we serve directly and to the nation.

Research is an integral part of the vision and the mission of CMC. Research at the institution has been oriented to areas of need and emphasizes application of knowledge to relevant problems. The inculcation of an attitude of inquiry, acquisition of knowledge of the mechanisms of research and the conduct of research, at various levels of involvement in health care, are encouraged in faculty and students.

Research is the key to excellence in academic medicine, but the conduct of research is frequently misunderstood as requiring both skills and resources not available to the practicing clinician. Defining research as a systemic investigation in order to contribute to generalizable knowledge makes it clear that research can be conducted in any environment and with minimal resources. Some forms of research, particularly in the basic and applied sciences, do require significant investments and we have been fortunate at CMC to obtain substantial grant funding to be able to support research in a wide range of some basic and substantial clinical and translational medicine.

Economic analyses have shown that the benefits of research are far in excess of investments. These analyses are based on the benefits to society in terms of human health and longevity, and do not consider the long term inquiry driven attitudinal changes that we seek to inculcate in our faculty and trainees. Nonetheless, it is heartening that in addition to treating our patients individually or promoting community health, our research is key to fulfillment of our motto ‘not to be ministered unto, but to minister’ on the widest and longest lasting scale.

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for Postgraduate Degree, Diploma courses offered duration and no. of seats in Christian Medical College, CMC, Vellore

Candidates who have qualified for the M.B.B.S Degree of the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University or any other University recognized as equivalent by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and the Indian Medical Council and have completed their compulsory rotating resident internship and obtained full registration before 15/05/2018 are eligible to apply for the postgraduate diploma and degree courses. 

Candidates who are in the 2nd year of their training for a postgraduate diploma course may also apply for the postgraduate degree (MS/MD) course in the same subject. Post Diploma candidates with a diploma in the same subject need to undergo 2 years of training for the degree 

Note: Those who have completed DCP will not have this benefit for MD Pathology / MD Transfusion Medicine. Candidates currently pursuing a postgraduate training program and who complete the same by the 15th May 2018 only will be eligible to apply.

Application forms can be accessed only online through the Christian Medical College, Vellore website http://www.admissions.cmcvellore.ac.in from 25/11/2017. Duly filled application forms must be submitted online with a basic administrative fee of Rs.750/- and a registration fee of Rs. 600 per each course before the dates stated in the Admission Time table. 

All the supporting documents should reach the Office of Registrar, CMC, Vellore -2 by post on or before the date mentioned 

Applicants employed in Government or similar establishments who need to route their applications through “proper channels” for the purpose of sponsorship/ permission/ leave, etc., are advised to submit an application as detailed above for the desired course, complete with all the required enclosures directly to the Office of the Registrar before 25th January 2018 

Candidates applying from SAARC countries should send a Demand Draft for Rs.1500/- or its equivalent and those from other foreign countries, US dollars 100 or its equivalent as administrative fee in addition to the registration fee per course
