About College:

The National institute of Financial Management (NIFM) was set up in 1993 on the basis of a proposal made by Ministry of Finance, which was approved by the Union Cabinet. The Union Cabinet envisaged that NIFM would begin as a training institution for officers recruited by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) through the annual Civil Service Examinations and allocated to the various services responsible for manning senior and top management posts dealing with accounts and finance in the Government of India. NIFM was to develop as a centre of excellence in the areas of Financial Management and related disciplines “not only in India but also in Asia.”

Duration: 2 Years Full Time Residential Programme

Eligibility:

Private Participants/ Corporate Executives

(i)           Participants must have completed their Graduation with at least 50% in aggregate from an Indian University / institution recognized by Association of Indian Universities. Preference would be given to the participants having Professional Qualifications such as CA, CS, CWA, CFA, BE/B. Tech, etc.

(ii)          Candidates must have qualified in any one of the all India Common Admission Tests i.e. CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT or GMAT and submit the valid test scores not more than 2 year old

(iii)         The upper age limit is 30 years on the date of commencement of the programme

The decision of the Selection Committee of NIFM for selection will be final and no correspondence in this matter shall be entertained by NIFM.

Government Officers

1.    Minimum percentage of marks at graduation level should be 50%.

2.    The upper age of participant is 40 years on the date of commencement of the programme.

3.    Officers at middle/senior level working with the Central or State Governments, Public Enterprises and autonomous organizations belonging to State / Central Government or similar participants from foreign countries are eligible to apply for admission.

4.    Government officers/PSU officers are exempted from Common Admission Tests i.e. CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT

How to Apply:

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

For private participants

·         Candidates may apply only through the duly filled in prescribed application form. The completed application along with resume, proof of educational qualifications, work experience (if any), copy of CAT/GMAT/XAT/CMAT score card and Application fee ` 1000/- (to be paid online by RTGS/NEFT and the relevant reference number be mentioned on the application) be sent to National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM), Sector-48, Pali Road, Near Badkhal Village, Faridabad-121001, Haryana, on or before 31st July 2019. The envelope should mention “Application for PGDM (Finance), 2019-21”. The duly filled in application form should also be mailed at finance@nifm.ac.in.

·         The applications of the candidates not having valid score of CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT will not be entertained

·         Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview for admission to this Programme

General Instructions for all candidates

Mere fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria by the candidate shall not bind NIFM for offering admission to any candidate to the Programme. The decision of NIFM regarding admission of the candidates to the Programme shall be final and no correspondence in the matter will be entertained.

For Government Sponsored Officers/ Candidates

The government sponsored candidates are eligible for direct admission to the full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Finance). Applications, complete in all respects, should reach NIFM by 31st July, 2019. Candidates shall be shortlisted by the Institute and the shortlisted candidates and their sponsors would be intimated by 1st August, 2019. All supporting documents/ testimonials (matriculation certificate onwards and relieving letter from the organisation), in original, shall be required at the time of final admission to the Programme.

·         A minimum of 2 years of post qualification executive work experience (excluding stipendiary / training period) as on 31 March 2019 for April 2019 Batch and 30th September, 2019 for October 2019 Batch.

Selection Process

The Post Graduate Programme in Management (Part-time) is currently offered twice a year (viz. April and October). The selection would be based on a MDI Test (conducted by MDI in MDI Campus, Gurgaon) /GMAT / CAT. The candidate with a valid CAT and GMAT score are not required to appear in the MDI written test.

All applicants/candidates will also be required to appear for personal interview held at MDI Gurgaon campus on February 24, 2019 (Tentatively) for April 2019 Batch and September 1, 2019 (Tentatively) for the October 2019 Batch.

Through MDI Test

The candidates will have to appear for a MDI written test to be conducted by MDI in its Gurgaon Campus. This test is on similar lines/of the same pattern as the Common Admission Test (CAT). The MDI test will have sections on quantitative ability, logical reasoning and English language skills. The tentative dates for the MDI Test is February 24, 2019 (Sunday) for April 2019 Batch and September 1, 2019 (Sunday) for the October 2019 Batch.

Through CAT -2018

The Common Admission Test (CAT-2018) is conducted by the IIMs on Sunday, November 25, 2018. Applicants must refer to the CAT Advertisement for further details.

Through GMAT

If the applicant is applying through GMAT, the GMAT score should have validity of 5 years with reference to closing date of April & October 2019 batch respectively.

Sponsorship

The programme would admit both organization-sponsored as well as self-sponsored candidates. A sponsorship letter from the organization would be required in the case of organization-sponsored candidates. A no objection letter from the organization will be required from self-sponsored candidates.

General Instructions for Online Application Form

1.    Before filling the Online Application Form, the candidates are required to read the Prospectus/ guidelines/ instructions available on University website carefully. Candidates will submit their Application Forms online on the University's website: www.svsu.ac.in for admission to various programmes.

2.    The candidates shall be allowed to appear in the Entrance Test (if applicable) provisionally subject to determination of eligibility at a later stage. The candidates shall have no right to claim admission to any programme merely due to their appearing in the Entrance Test.

3.    If eligible for more than one programme and candidate intends to be considered for more than one programme, he/she has to apply separately for D.Voc./ Diploma/ B.Voc./PG Diploma/ M.Voc. Programmes and also to pay separate individual fees, as applicable.

4.    No column should be left blank in the Online Application Form; write N.A. against the column which is not applicable. Otherwise it will be considered as incomplete and liable to be rejected.

5.    In case any candidate is found to have supplied false information, certificates, documents etc. or is found to have withheld or concealed some information in his/ her Application Form, he/she shall be liable to be debarred from admission to the programme.

6.    If a candidate is admitted on the basis of the information submitted by him/ her, which is found to be incorrect or false at a later stage, his/ her admission will be cancelled and all fees and other dues paid by him/ her shall be forfeited. The National institute of Financial Management (NIFM) was set up in 1993 on the basis of a proposal made by Ministry of Finance, which was approved by the Union Cabinet. The Union Cabinet envisaged that NIFM would begin as a training institution for officers recruited by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) through the annual Civil Service Examinations and allocated to the various services responsible for manning senior and top management posts dealing with accounts and finance in the Government of India. (i)           Participants must have completed their Graduation with at least 50% in aggregate from an Indian University / institution recognized by Association of Indian Universities.
