The introduction of Correspondence Courses in the Mumbai University, in the year 1971-72,Was primarily for the benefit of students who. Would have otherwise been deprived of the access to higher education. The Annual Report of the University for the year 1970-71, submitted by the Syndicate to the Senate, states as follows.” Correspondence Courses

The Syndicate at their meeting held on 26th September, 1970, considered proposal made by Shri A. N. Namjoshi, a member of the Syndicate, that the possibility of introducing Correspondence Courses and External Degree Courses in the University for the benefit of a large number of Students who cannot avail themselves of the facilities of Morning/Evening classes, be explored. The suggestion was referred by the Syndicate to the Academic Council and the Council appointed a committee to consider it.

The Academic Council, at its meeting held on 24th March, 1971, approved the report of its Committee and recommended to the Syndicate, inter alia, as under:  

1.      that Correspondence Courses in the Faculties of Arts and Commerce, with English as  the medium of correspondence, instruction and examination, be started from June, 1971 for the  First Year Arts and Commerce examinations and progressively thereafter up to the graduate level; 

2.      that enrolment be restricted to persons residing within the University area viz. Greater  Bombay; 

3.      that eligibility requirements, the curricular content, the mode of examination and the Degree to be awarded be the same as for the regular day student of the University; 

The recommendation has been accepted by the Syndicate"

The Correspondence Courses were, then introduced in the University with a nomenclature as  "The Directorate of Correspondence Courses" for which correspondence instructions were to be given at the First Year Arts and First Year Commerce Examination to be held in the first half of the year 1972. Initially, it started with the meager registration of 845 students which has grown up to a staggering figure of about 69,792 students in the year 2008, 2009.

Registration for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2017

MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2017 shall be conducted only in the online mode in multiple sessions. Competent Authority, using standardized equi-percentile method, will be equating scores across sessions

Aspiring candidates should note that, the tests are not disclosed to anybody else other than the candidates only during the examination; the test papers are also not shared with anybody even after the examination

The CET comprises multiple choice objective type questions in the areas of Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical / Abstract Reasoning. In all there would be 200 questions to be answered in a total time of two and half hours (i.e. One hundred and fifty minutes)

3.     The CET comprises multiple-choice objective type questions in the areas of Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical, Abstract Reasoning. Candidates are advised to download the Information Brochure from www.mahacet.org andwww.dhepune.gov.in take a print -out /read it carefully and then fill in the On Line Application Form from the given link 

Candidates are advised to Scan their own photograph and signature as per the specification and keep it ready with them on the computer to fill in form. Candidates are advised to keep their Educational records such as Year of passing marks obtained etc. of all qualifications handy before beginning to fill in the Form 

Candidates are further advised to first save the form, read it carefully before finally submitting it on line. If the Form is Finally submitted, then no change in the Form is possible. Candidates are directed to take a print out of the On Line Finally submitted and approved

The On Line CET is comprising of one paper with three sections: 

1. Mental Ability - 40 No. of Questions; 01 Marks Questions; and 40 Total Marks

3. Teacher Aptitude - 30 No. of Questions; 01 Marks Questions; and 30 Total Marks

The questions will be objective Multiple Choice Questions with Four options 

There is no Negative Marking 
The time allotted is One Hour Thirty Minutes

Contents of the Sections: 

Mental Ability (40%): The content of this test aims to judge your reasoning power It also helps to judge how accurate you can think. This test will contain questions based on Series, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Relationship, Analogies, Classification, Problems on Dice, etc., either in Verbal or Non-Verbal form 

General Knowledge (30%): The aim of this section is to test how well you are acquainted with the happenings in the surroundings at Local, National, International Level including Past Events, Current Affairs including, Science and Technology, History, Geography, Civics, Political Science and Literature in General 

Teacher Aptitude (30%): The Test aims to know your capacity to become teacher. It will contain questions related to your keenness to update your knowledge, leadership qualities awareness about changes in Education and Society , communication and Professional commitment etc. 

MAH BEd CET 2017 Test Centers 

MAH - B.Ed. CET 2017 will be conducted in the selected cities in Maharashtra. The cities in which MAH-B.Ed. CET 2017 will be conducted are designated as “Centers” for the CET. Each Centre may have many “Venues” depending upon the number of candidates appearing at that Centre

Eligibility:

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for BBA LLB [5 Years Integrated Programme] in Symbiosis Law School, SLS, Pune

The candidate should have passed 12th (10+2) standard examination from any government­ recognized board with minimum 45% marks (40% for S.C. / S.T. students) in one attempt (No Compartment / Supplementary). Students who have appeared for their H.S.C finals and awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the notified date.

Applicants who have obtained 10+2 through Open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for the Law Course.

Age Limit: 

Candidate should be less than 20 years of age at the time of appearing for Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET-­2017). (2 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates i.e. they should not be more than 22 years of age on the specified date).
