About College:

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. Established in 2006, the institute falls under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (vide communication F.No. 22-8/2006-TS.1). As a unique initiative in science education in India, IISER aims to be a Science University of the highest caliber devoted to both teaching and research in a totally integrated manner, with state-of-the-art research and high quality education, thus nurturing both curiosity and creativity.

IISER Pune has initiated a 5 years Integrated Masters programme and a post-Masters Ph.D. programme in Integrated Sciences in an intellectually vibrant atmosphere of research. Apart from classroom instruction, IISER builds student skills in areas such as scientific inquiry, problem solving, communication skills, computational sciences, electronics and instrumentation and workshop practices. First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in: M. Sc. In Life/Biological Sciences or equivalent, including Biochemical, Biophysical, Biomathematical, Conservation or Ecological sciences. B.Tech/M.Tech /MBBS degree holders may also apply. The candidate MUST qualify National Eligibility Test (NET) with CSIR- JRF/UGC-JRF OR DBT-JRF-A OR ICMR-JRF OR INSPIRE-Ph.D OR GATE (>99 percentile) to apply. Candidates qualifying CSIR-Lectureship (NET) are NOT eligible.

#Candidates who are appearing for the final year of their qualifying degree examinations are also eligible to apply. However, they must submit attested copies of qualifying degree certificate.

Candidates MUST have qualified the CSIR-NET/GATE/JEST/NBHM or equivalent examination valid for the current year in the relevant area of research. Candidates qualifying CSIR-Lectureship (NET) are NOT eligible. Candidates who are in receipt of INSPIRE fellowship or eligible for INSPIRE fellowship for Ph.D. are also eligible to apply. Applications of Candidates who have not qualified exams or who do not meet Minimum Criteria as per above table will NOT be entertained. Students who have appeared or are appearing for final year exams and have qualified NET/GATE exams are also eligible to apply. Their admission to PhD is subject to successful completion of M.Sc. Selection Procedure

·          Only Eligible candidates that meet the minimum educational qualifications and satisfy the additional criteria set by the departments will be called for an interview by the selection committee of the respective departments.

·          Candidates who are shortlisted by the selection committee will be informed the dates of the interview and details of the interview process by e-mail.

·          Based on their academic record and the performance of the candidates in the interview, the departmental selection committee will recommend candidates to the Chairman for admission to the Ph. D. program.

Application Procedure for SVUCET 2017:

Candidates are encouraged to apply online.

The candidate can apply more than one test in single registration. Such candidates have to pay the applicable fee depend upon the tests selected.

The payment of registration and processing fee Rs.300/- (SC/ST/PH) and fee Rs. 400/- (OC/BC/Others) should be made either by SBI generated challan or by online payment gateway (like credit/ debit card/ Net banking).

Paper Pattern for SVUCET 2017:

The entrance test will be of 90 minutes duration and the question paper consists of 100 multiple choice type questions.

AUCET is conducted for taking admission to various Science, Arts, Engineering and Law Courses offered in campus colleges of Andhra University (AU), Visakhapatnam, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University (BRAU), Srikakulam, PG centers, and colleges affiliated to AU & BRAU offering PG programs for the session 2017.

Eligibility Criteria for AUCET 2017:

·         Candidates from other recognized universities are considered for admission into PG Arts and Science programs only if they possess a three-year bachelor degree of 10+2+3 or 12+3 or 11+1+3 pattern, with the prescribed minimum percentage of marks, unless otherwise specified.

·         Candidates who acquired bachelor degree by distance education without 10+2+3 pattern are also eligible for admission into PG programs, subject to submission of residence certificate.

·         The requirement for admission into all Science and Engineering programs offered by these universities is a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in group subjects (part II) of the qualifying examination unless or otherwise specified. For SC and ST candidates, a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in group subjects (part II) is sufficient.

·         The requirement for Arts, Commerce and Law programs is generally a pass in the appropriate qualifying degree, except for M.Sc. Anthropology for which the requirement is a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in group subjects (Part-II) in the qualifying examination and for SC& ST candidates, a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the group subjects. The requirement for M.Ed course is a pass with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC & ST candidates).

·         Candidates who have already passed their qualifying degree examination or who have appeared / are appearing for the final examination in 2017 only are eligible for AUCET-2017.

Application Procedure for AUCET 2017:

Candidates can apply online.

Application registration and processing fee of Rs. 500/- may be paid through SBI I-Collect/ Andhra Bank (billdesk)/ payment Gateway (credit/debit card).

Paper Pattern for AUCET 2017:

For all tests, the candidate has to answer 100 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes. Each question contains four alternative answers (a, b, c, d).

The candidate must mark the answer on OMR sheet and should not answer anywhere on the test booklet.

Conducting of Entrance Test

TSWDCET-2017 will be conducted on 16th April 2017 (Sunday) in one session from 11.30 A.M to 02.00 PM (2½ hours duration) both in English and Telugu media in four subjects i.e., English and three optional subjects as per Intermediate syllabus

Question Paper (120 Marks) will be objective type. Multiple-choice questions and the answers should be marked on the OMR Sheets

The test will be conducted in TSW Residential Schools, Jr. Colleges located in 31 new Districts basing on the option given by the candidates

How to Apply

Candidate shall first go through the information bulletin carefully, available in the website and satisfy herself with the eligibility criteria for appearing for the written test.

The candidate after satisfying herself about the eligibility shall pay Rs. 50/- through PAYMENT GATEWAY centres from 27th February 2017 to 26th March 2017 to enable option to submit the application through online

Candidate has to give the required preliminary data i.e., name, date of birth and mobile number at the PAYMENT GATEWAY centre

On Receipt of Fee, the candidate shall be issued a journal number with which she can proceed with submission of application through online by logging on to the website www.tswreis.cgg.gov.in
Issue of journal number does not mean that the candidate has completed submission of application online. It is only a confirmation for the fee received

How to Apply for KCET 2017 

Step1: Please download the e-brochure from KEA Website http://kea.kar.nic.in and read the instructions carefully before start entering the application online. Enter all the details online by browsing URL on web http://kea.kar.nic.in by selecting "CET-2017 UG Online Application"; after completion of entry of all the details candidate’s will receive an application ID & Password to their registered mobile phone number and to email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen 

Step 2: Upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Colour Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression in JPG, JPEG format separately 

Step 3: Print the Challan copy that is in triplicate. Candidates of Karnataka origin have to pay an amount of Rs.650/- for General and OBC (Rs.500/- for SC,ST Category-1 of Karnataka candidates only); Rs.750/- in case of candidates residing outside the state of Karnataka & Rs.5,000/- in case of candidates residing outside India. 

The candidates who are residing outside India shall pay the fees in the form of DD drawn in favour of Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, payable at Bangalore 

Step 4: Take a printout of the application form on A-4 Size paper. Obtain Principal seal and signature from the college where you have studied 2nd PUC or 12th Standard on the space provided in the printed form; the same copy should be produced during document verification

AFCAT 2017, Air Force Common Admission Test 2017

Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT 2017) dates has been announced by Indian Air Force (IAF). The AFCAT will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017.

AFCAT for both men and women is conducted for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent/ Short Service Commission in Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches for the session commencing in January 2017. AFCAT is only one of the steps involved in the entire selection process for getting selected as an officer in the IAF. On clearing the AFCAT, shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB (Services Selection Board) Testing.

Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT 2017:

For Flying Branch:

Age: 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2017 i.e. born between 02 January 1992 to 01 January 1998.

·         Candidates must be graduates (minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent and have passed Maths & Physics at 10+2 level or BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.

For Technical Branch (Aeronautical Engineer-Electronics):

The Joint Entrance Examination JEE-Advanced is an all-India examination administered and conducted in seven IIT zones across the country by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) for admission to Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs in the sixteen IITs (IIT Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai, Mandi, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Varanasi) and the Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad.

JEE Advanced is the popular examination conducted by the seven zonal Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) under the guidance of Joint Admission Board (JAB). IIT Advanced Exam Pattern

Papers: JEE Advanced examination comprises of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Attempt: Candidates have to attempt both the papers.

Duration: The duration of both exams will be three hours.

Question Type: The question paper will consist of objective type (multiple choice and numerical answer type) questions.

Mode of Language: The medium of the question paper will be Hindi or English.

Subjects: Both question paper will contain the three separate sections i.e., Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry.

Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2017:

The candidates who want to take admission in the B.Arch programme are required to qualify the AAT examination. Only JEE Advanced 2017 qualifiers will be eligible to appear the test. To take AAT, the candidates have to register themselves online on the official portal of JEE Advanced. It is the single paper of 3 hours duration. Those, secure marks above the cut-off marks will be considered as qualifiers for the AAT. There will no separate rank list be prepared for AAT. Admission will be done through the rank secured by the candidate in JEE Advanced 2017.

IIT JEE Exam Centres:

Last year, the examination was held in many towns and cities of India as well as in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. At the time of filling online application form, the candidates can choose three cities/towns where he/she wants to take the exam. The examination centres are separated into seven IITs zones namely IIT Bombay Zone, IIT Delhi Zone, IIT Guwahati Zone, IIT Kanpur Zone, IIT Kharagpur Zone, IIT Madras Zone and IIT Roorkee Zone.

Performance in Class XII: Candidate appearing for JEE Advanced 2017 has to score minimum 75% marks (for Gen/OBC) & 65% marks (SC/ST/PwD) in 12th or equivalent class. OR 

Must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

If a candidate passes Class XII (or equivalent) in 2016, but writes one of the required subjects (mentioned above) in 2017 for improvement or any other reason, then the aggregate percentage will be calculated by considering the maximum marks obtained in the required subjects.

Performance in JEE (Main) 2017: Candidates should be among the top 2,20,000 (including all categories) by scoring positive marks in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2017.

Age Limit: Candidates must possess the age on or after October 1, 1992. Five years age relaxation will be provided to the SC/ST candidates. These candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1987.

No of Attempts: The candidates can appear the examination maximum two times in a consecutive years. Those appeared the examination in 2016 are also eligible to apply this year.

However, candidates whose Class XII (or equivalent) examination results for the academic year 2014-15 were declared after June 2015 are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2017.

Must have appeared the 12th class first time with all the subjects either in the year 2016 or 2017. If candidate seeking for the improvement in the year 2017 then he/she has to appear the improvement exam in all the subjects.

Earlier admission at IITs: A candidate should NOT have been admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program) OR accepted the IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past. The candidates whose admission at IITs was cancelled are also NOTeligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2017.

Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2016 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2017. The candidates who have paid seat acceptance fee but not accepted the seat (by not reporting at any reporting centre during joint seat allocation in 2016) are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2017.

Seat Reservation:

The seats are reserved as per the rules of Indian government. The reservation for different categories are as follows:

For SC – 15%

For ST – 7.5%

For OBC-NCL – 27%

For remaining all – 50.5%

For Person with Disability (PwD) – 3% seats are reserved in each of the categories.

How to Apply:

Admission Procedure:

·         Candidates have to register themselves for appearing in JEE Advanced-2017. Registration can be done through the online portal, only.

·         Candidates must read all the instructions before registering him, herself for the JEE Advanced-2017.

·         Candidates must satisfy each and every eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification of JEE Advanced-2017.

·         If any candidate found, not meeting any of the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification of JEE Advanced-2017, then his, her registration will automatically get cancelled.

·         If a candidate did not opt for appearing in JEE Advanced-2017 while registering for JEE MAIN-2017, he, she can register for JEE Advanced 2017.

·         Application for JEE (Advanced) 2017 cannot be withdrawn in any condition after the registration is completed.

·         Registration fee is neither refundable nor transferable.

·         Detailed instructions for online registration will be provided on the registration portal.

Documents Required:

1.     Candidates need to upload certain certificates and documents at the time of registration for the JEE Advanced-2017. Following is the list of such documents and certificates: All candidates:

2.     A colour photograph of full frontal (face) view, with the head centered in the frame covering 70-80% of the photograph and taken within the last six months. The photograph should be such that it allows unambiguous identification of the candidate.

3.     Class X certificate if the date of birth is mentioned in it OR birth certificate.

4.     Class XII (or equivalent examination) certificate (for those who appeared for this examination in 2016).

5.     Scanned copy of candidate’s full signature.

6.     Scanned copy of left-hand thumb impression.

If the name is not same as in the Class X certificate, gazette notification showing the change of name.
