About Us:
The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), has been constituted as a non profit organization with the express objective of engaging in activities for the promotion of education, training, research, professionalism and skill formation at all levels of the construction and other allied industries. Besides that, NICMAR’s objectives include undertaking special projects, collaboration with other organizations, dissemination of knowledge through seminars / conferences, etc; publishing literature, undertaking consultancy and taking necessary actions conducive to fulfillment of the objectives of the Society. Under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950, NICMAR was registered as a Public Trust in 1982. The NICMAR Society was constituted in 1984 and registered under the Societies’ Registration Act, 1860.

This is a two year programme for graduates designed to develop competence in providing solutions to a city’s development and management issues. This programme offers tools for conceptualising new smart cities and improving existing cities.

Post Graduate Programme in Management of Family Owned Construction Business (PGPMFOCB) Offered from Pune Campus
Duration: 1 Year
Eligibility:
All students who successfully complete this programme are expected to join their family businesses and hence no placement assistance is provided by NICMAR.
Graduates in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks and belonging to a family having construction business.
Students are required to provide necessary documents and undertaking as regards ownership of construction business.

Post Graduate Programme in Health, Safety and Environment Management (PGPHSEM) Offered from Hyderabad (Shamirpet) Campus
Duration: 1 Year
Eligibility:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering in any discipline OR Diploma in Engineering in any discipline with minimum four years of experience. Minimum 50% aggregate marks are required in all criteria
Note: Final year eligible graduating students can also apply.
Selection Procedure
Selection of students is made by the selection committee. Admissions are administered centrally from Pune campus.
Applications are scrutinised, and eligibility is established on the basis of documents submitted Eligible candidates will be invited to appear for the selection procedure, which comprises of NICMAR Common Admission Test (NCAT) (or, other entrance exams as specified below), Personal Interview (PI) and Rating of Application (RA). The details are as follows:
· NICMAR Common Admission Test (NCAT) - 150 marks
1. Quantitative and Analytical Ability - 60 marks
2. Data Interpretation - 30 marks
3. Verbal and General Ability - 60 marks
OR, Candidate may also submit valid CAT/GATE/GMAT/CMAT scores secured
· Personal Interview (PI) - 50 marks
· Rating of Application (RA) - 50 marks
The RA is calculated on the basis of weighted scores of the cumulative academic performance along with work experience (wherever applicable) obtained from the documents submitted to NICMAR by the candidates. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit. The merit list is drawn on the basis of performance in NCAT/CAT/GATE/GMAT/CMAT, PI and RA. Admission offer letters are issued in the order of merit. Candidate's preference of Program/Campus will be considered, but the allotment will be done at the sole discretion of the admission dept., NICMAR
Admission under Management Quota
The Institute has the policy of admitting a limited number of students under sponsored category, not exceeding 5% of the total students admitted.
Candidates to be considered for admission under sponsored category must fulfil the following requirements:
· Satisfy all the eligibility criteria for admission to the respective two-year full time post graduate programs of the Institute as mentioned in the NICMAR website
· Must have appeared for the admission process of the Institute including NICMAR Common Admission Test (or, other entrance exams as specified in admission procedure) and Personal Interview
· On selection, should be willing to pay tuition fee, which will be 50% higher than the regular tuition fee for the respective program
· All students who successfully complete the programme under this quota will also be eligible for on campus placement assistance both for summer internship as well as final Job placement.
