The Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi is a Government of India institution and only of its nature in eastern India. The British established this hospital on 17th May 1918 with the name of Ranchi European Lunatic Asylum. It had then a capacity of 174 patients (92 male and 82 female). It catered to the needs of the European mental patients only and it was under the direct control and management of Government of Bihar. 2)    Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India / AIU. This degree must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling [Class 12 or equivalent] (10+2+3 system).

3)    Candidates must have minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Honours / aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in graduation. [The percentage of marks obtained by a candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the University / Institution from where the candidate has obtain the degree]

4)    Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s programme in 2019 can also apply, provided they have obtained requisite marks or equivalent (as per item 3 above) based on latest available grades / marks at the time of applying, and if selected can join the programme provisionally.

At the time of reporting for the ‘GD & PI’ such applicant must bring a certificate in original from the Principal of Institute stating that:

a) by 30th June 2019, he/she will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining his/her Bachelor’s degree.

b) He/she has obtained requisite marks or equivalent (as per item (3) above), based on latest available grades / marks.

Selected candidates will be required to sign an undertaking at the time of admission on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 20/- (as per format given in Sec-10).

Further, their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the marksheets and a certificate of having passed the Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification with requisite marks as per item (3) above. They must submit proof of passing their final examinations with requisite marks by 31st October 2019. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the admission.

5)    Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distancelearning programmes are eligible only if (a) the programmes are recognized by the DEC-IGNOU (b) they have passed the qualifying examination at the time of applying, with minimum requisite marks in average calculated as per item (3) above. They must enclose photocopies of pass certificate and marksheets of qualifying examination with their application. [Appearing candidate in distance learning programmes, whose results are yet to be declared, are not eligible to apply].

Notes:

(1)    Candidates with foreign diplomas should see the EdCIL website for equivalence (http://www.edcil.co.in), and if required should obtain an equivalence certificate from the evaluation division of the AIU (website http://www.aiuweb.org).

(2)    In case, any Board / University awards grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent marks would be based on the procedure prescribed by the Board / University. In case, a University does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

(3)    At any level of the studies [Class X, Class XII or Graduation], a candidate / applicant must have passed all the required subjects at that level from the same Board/ University.

Selection will be made based on performance of the Candidate in GD and PI.

The Central University of Jharkhand was established through the Central University Act, 2009. The University started with a vision to specially focus on relevant present age educational drives with an emphasis on research in cutting edge technologies. Campus

The classroom complex is located inside a mango orchard and the hostels are surrounded by tall Sal trees. In order to preserve the trees, one can find some tree inside the rooms and growing through the roofs. The year 1922 is also notable for the fact that the Institute was affiliated to the University of London for the Diploma in Psychological Medicine examination. It was a unique phenomenon since the postgraduate training in Psychiatry was nonexistent in India in those days.It may be worth noting that this Institute has been the most premier centre for mental health in the country and it has many firsts to its credit. For example, to mention only a few, the first Occupational Therapy Department in 1922, ECT in 1943, psychosurgery and neurosurgery in 1947, clinical psychology and Electroencephalography (EEG) departments in 1948, a full fledged neuropathology section in 1952, the first use of Lithium in 1952 and chlorpromazine in 1953.

About College:

XLRI was founded in 1949 by Fr. Quinn Enright, S.J. in the Steel City of Jamshedpur. Fr. Enright visualized XLRI to be a partner in the liberation and development journey of the independent India with a vision of "renewing the face of the earth". Fr. Bill Tome joined hands with him to bring that vision to fruition. Both, together with the other Jesuit companions, worked tirelessly towards translating the Vision "Renewing the face of the earth" into action.

Course Name:

Postgraduate Certificate in Business Analytics for Management Decision (PGCBAMD) 

Eligibility:

·         The candidates should have a full time bachelor degree in any stream.

·         Minimum 4 Years of work experience after completion of Graduation is mandatory. Basic exposure in analytics is preferable.

·         Candidates should have minimum 50% marks throughout.

·         Candidates must have Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at least in higher secondary level.

Other requirement: Candidate must have carry their own laptops during session with 8GB RAM

Credentials Required: Your credentials will be verified at the time of your interview and admission and hence will not be required at the time of your application for the Programme.

How to Apply:

Online Application: Candidates are expected to submit only Online Application Forms to get admission into the Postgraduate Certificate course of the VIL programme offered by XLRI Jamshedpur. Hard copy submissions of the application forms are not required. It's only at the time of the interview that the candidates would be expected to carry a hard copy of the application form to their respective interview centres, for submissions.

Registration: To apply for the course PGCBAMD, candidates are requested to register by clicking onApply For Registration.

Application Fees: Post registering successfully, candidates are expected to make an online payment of Rs 2500/- plus GST, which is non-refundable.

SOP (Statement of Purpose): On paying the application fees, the candidates are then expected to fill in the online SOP with the help of their XSAT ID and password, which they will receive through an e-mail.

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2019 by XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute) for MBA admission 2019

XAT Exam 2019 - XAT 2019 Exam Date has been released officially (06th January 2019). XAT 2019 is also referred as Xavier Aptitude Test. It is the University Level Entrance Exam, which is organized by the XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute) on the behalf of XAMI. XAT Exam is conducted for the admission in more than 150 B-Schools of the country.

The application process for XAT 2019 is commencing on third week of August 2018. MBA aspirants passing Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or institute in any discipline will be eligible to apply for XAT 2019.

Candidates can check all the details of XAT 2019 in terms of eligibility criteria, application procedure, important dates, admit card, exam pattern, cutoff, result and many more.

XAT 2019 will be conducted on 06th January 2019 (Sunday). XLRI conducts XAT on behalf of the XAMI. For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting XAT at all India Level to select the most appropriate students for management education. The XAT score is being used by more than 150 institutes for the admission.

What is XAT?

XAT is Xavier Aptitude Test conducted by XLRI (Xavier Labour Relation Institute) Jamshedpur. It is a common entrance exam conducted by Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) for admission in its management institutes across India.

Eligibility for XAT 2019:

The candidate must hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline; those completing their final examination by 10th June 2019 may also apply. All Indian candidates must appear for XAT-2019. However, NRI and foreign candidates may apply through GMAT score (except Dubai and Kathmandu wherein candidates have an option of appearing for XAT 2019). Candidates appearing in Final year of Graduation can apply by entering their aggregate percentage of marks obtained until the time of filling of form

Eligibility for NRI/Foreign Candidates:

NRI or foreign national candidates have to apply through GMAT scores. Candidates from Dubai or Nepal are exempted from applying through GMAT scores as XAT will be conducted in these two international cities.

Selection Criteria

·         The selection criteria and XAT 2019 participating institutes vary from B-School to B-School. It is generally a two-step process. In the first phase, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their XAT performance and institute cut-off

·         The shortlisted candidates have to appear for Writing Ability Test (WAT) or Essay Writing or Group Discussion/Group Activity and Personal Interview rounds. The B-schools may also consider criteria like past academic records, work experience etc. or the overall candidate profile

·         Work-experience before graduation will not be counted by the selection panel

·         Candidates who were in their final year of graduation while applying for XAT must have completed their Bachelor’s Degree at the time of selection procedure in order to be eligible for selection.

XAT Exam Pattern 2019

XAT 2019 is going to be an online or computer-based test of 210 minutes duration. However, until last year it used to be an offline paper. It is a combination of objective and subjective questions, although majority of the questions are objective multiple-choice type. XAT is divided into two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Paper 1

·         The duration of the test will be of three hours from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm on Sunday, 06th January 2019

·         The duration of Paper 1 is 170 minutes or 3 hours 50 minutes.There are three sections in this paper, Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation.

Paper 2

·         This paper is a combination of objective and subjective type questions. The sections of Paper 2 are General Knowledge/Awareness and Essay Writing. There are 25 questions in the GK section. Candidates are given only one topic for essay writing. The duration of this paper is 35 minutes.

Result

The result of XAT 2019 will be declared online in the last week of January 2019. XAT officials will release the score cards stating the section wise and overall scores and percentiles. Test takers can download the score cards and take the requisite number of print outs. XLRI Jamshedpur will also send the hard copy of XAT 2019 score card to the address of candidates. The scorecard has to be preserved till the admission process gets over.

·         A candidate needs to register for XAT exam and also register for the institute courses of his/her choice separately by paying separate application fees. The candidates first need to visit the official portal of XAT i.e.; xatonline.net.in

·         Applicants should note that registration for XAT 2019 and appearing for XAT 2019 is the preliminary step towards applying to XLRI and XAT Associate Institutes. Applicants to different institutes, besides XLRI have to apply separately to Institutes of their choice

·         Applicants for XAT 2019 can choose to pay online using credit card/debit card/online banking

·         Please note that the XAT ID and password gives you an individual login on www.xatonline.in and on frequent intervals, you need to check for mails from XAT & other associated institutes.

·         Please ensure that you give your correct mobile No. to receive SMS alerts.

Eligibility:

·         Candidates must have passed Class12 / Equivalent Qualifying Examination with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST/ PwD) marks (average of 4 core subjects)

·         Percentage of marks in Class12 / Equivalent Qualifying Examination to be computed as average of English + Best 3 other core subjects.

Selection Procedure:

·         Selection will be made on merit based on marks obtained in the required subject in Class 12/QE and performance in Creative Aptitude Test & Interview.  However, candidates must meet the age criteria and other minimum academic requirements (see Eligibility Criteria).

·         Weightage of marks considered in merit list is 40% for creativity aptitude test +10% Interview + 50% for Class 12 marks.

·         To apply for B.Sc. Important Instructions:

·         Please fill and submit the application online only, take printout of the same and retain with you as the same will be required to produce at the time of reporting for Aptitude Test and Interview.
