NITIE Alumni Association (NAA) has been functioning to maintain the alumni relations of NITIE amongst the past students. Maintaining a strong alumni relations program is essential to the growth and development of our institute. With this motive in mind, the Executive Committee of the NAA has approved a proposal to create a Corpus Fund from the Alumni of NITIE. Last year we had the Chennai alumni meet at the picturesque Buena Vista beach resort at Neelangarai beach. Despite a heavy downpour, games like beach football and Housie were played followed by an elaborate two hour lunch.

Eligibility:

INDIAN STUDENTS

For all the above Programmes, applicant should have valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score as on June 15, 2019 with 60% aggregate* (marks relaxable by 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD (Physically Disabled) candidates) at graduation in Engineering/Technology. For PGDIE, applicant with any branch in Engineering/ Technology can apply. For PGDMM candidates with following engineering disciplines can apply – mechanical, production, automobile, chemical, textile, electrical, electronics and other relevant branches such as industrial engineering, instrumentation and industrial electronics. For PGDPM candidates with following engineering disciplines can apply – mechanical, production, automobile, chemical, civil, textile, electrical, electronics and other relevant branches such as industrial engineering, instrumentation and industrial electronics. Final year Engineering/Technology students can also apply, provided they qualify the above criteria for exams appeared till date. Students appearing for final year exams in 2019 will be permitted to submit their result by September 30, 2019. Their admission will stand cancelled in case they fail to meet the qualifying requirements. As per Govt. of India rules, reservation of seats exists for SC/ST/OBC-NC (NonCreamy) and PwD candidates. SC/ST candidates are granted Central Sector Scholarship as per the scheme of Govt. of India vide letters No.11016/19/2005-SCD-1 dated 21.06.2007 and No.19012/36/-5-Education dated 27.06.2007 subject to the satisfactory fulfillment of terms and conditions mentioned therein.

Sponsored Seats: Few seats in PGDIE, PGDMM and PGDPM are available for Sponsored Candidates. Sponsored Candidates must be from reputed Industrial Organizations/Academic Institutions. The Candidates must have aggregate* 60% marks at graduation in Engineering /Technology with two years of full time work experience as on last date of submission of application as prescribed in the advertisement. GATE score is not required for sponsored candidates. However, they are required to attend a written test and PI to be conducted at the institute. Sponsored candidates should also fill-in the Sponsorship Form available on the NITIE website. No teaching assistantship is available for Sponsored candidates.

* For calculating the aggregate, all semesters’ Marks/SGPA/Percentage is averaged

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

15% of the approved intake (in supernumerary quota) will be reserved for international students in the above PG programmes offered by NITIE. Entry level qualification shall be at par with that of Indian students as specified above and candidate should have a valid GRE score. Foreign candidate should have a valid TOEFL/ IELTS score also. TOEFL/ IELTS score more than two years old will not be considered**. All international candidates will have to submit a SOP (Statement of purpose) and two LORs (Letters of recommendations).

**All the International candidates are required to have a minimum of 18 (eighteen) months of stay at the overseas countries as on the last date of submission of application as prescribed in the advertisement.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Admission is based on Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) with appropriate weightage to GATE/ GRE score (as applicable), academic performance and relevant experience of reputed Industrial Organization/Academic Institution. All the shortlisted candidates will be called for GD and PI at NITIE, Mumbai. Shortlisted International candidates should attend GD and PI along with Indian students or take up an extempore speech and PI through video conferencing.

Teaching Assistantship: Only GATE qualifiers will get Teaching Assistantship (at present @ Rs. 12400/- per month) and contingency expenditure as per rules

Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, HBCSE is a National Centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. Eligibility:

Regular Applicants: Must be Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering/Technology, Management, Economics, Commerce, Social Science, Life sciences and Pure Sciences with 60% aggregate marks (relaxable by 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD (Person with Disability) candidates) from recognized University/ Institution, CA/ ICWA and ACS.

Admission Process:

Stage 1: Initial Screening and Shortlisting

Only those candidates are screened: (a) Who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the Fellow Program; (b) Who have applied to the Fellow Program and paid the prescribed registration fee; (c) Who have submitted the Research Proposal; (d) Further, shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the evaluation of Research Proposal.

Stage 2: Selection Process for Shortlisted Candidates

a.    NITIE Admission Test and Writing Skills Test: The admission test shall have three sections namely Analytical Skills, Logical Reasoning, and Research Aptitude. For writing skills, applicant will be asked to write summary (150-200 words) of Research/General article.

b.    Research Presentation and Personal Interview: Research Presentation will be based on the research proposal submitted by the applicants. This would be followed by a Personal Interview which will be based on subject knowledge, motivation for doing research, communication skills and overall assessment.

Stage 3: Final Merit List

Final merit list shall be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the different evaluation components such as admission test, writing skills test, past academic achievements, research presentation and personal interview.

The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) serves as a regional Institute for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. It was established in Mumbai in July 1956, till July 1970 it was known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) and till 1985 it was known as the International Institute for Population Studies (IIPS). The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities and was declared as a 'Deemed University' in August 19, 1985 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Eligibility:

·         Candidates having MA/MSc. degree (passed/appearing) in Anthropology, Biostatistics, Economics, Geography, Health Statistics, Mathematics, Political Science, Population Education, Psychology, Rural Development, Social Work, Sociology, and Statistics from a recognized university in India or abroad with a minimum of 55% of aggregate marks/equivalent grade.

Eligibility 

Institute uses CAT 2018 (Common Admission Test) scores for shortlisting/selecting the candidates for PGDIM and PGDISEM programmes. The candidates should follow the CAT 2018 advertisement of IIMs. However, IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of NITIE Programmes.

ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION:

INDIAN STUDENTS

Engineering/Technology graduates in any branch with aggregate* 60% marks (relaxation of 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD (Persons with disabilities) candidates) and a valid CAT score. The reservation of seats exists for SC/ST/OBC-NC (Non-Creamy) and PwD candidates as per Govt. of India rules.

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Eligibility 

Students should have passed 12th Class or Intermediate in any subject stream from a Recognised Board. Students who have studied International Baccalaureate Diploma and will be completing 12th class with clear results declared by June 2019 are eligible to apply.

Candidates who have appeared for their 12th class or Intermediate final exams and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply. Final pass result should be produced at the time of joining the programme, if selected.

Age Limit: Candidate should be 23 years or less in age at the time of appearing for the Bachelors Admission Test, as on May 10, 2019. Applications from candidates over this age will not be entertained.

General Instructions about applying:

APPLICATION PROCESS

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria should apply for the programme only through an online process by visiting the admissions link on the TISS website on or before March 20, 2019.

Candidates will enter the online application process by giving their authentic email id. To this email with a link to set a password and access the application.

Candidates are expected to use the same email id and password for the entire process till the completion of the admission process.

Candidates will have an option to fill the form and complete the processes entirely at one go or fill partially and save the form for completion before the due date.

Candidates are encouraged to complete the process at the earliest and not delay the process of online submission till the final date.

Candidates are expected to give their preference for one centre only in the online application. This preference cannot be changed through a phone call or email or in person.

Application fees of Rs. 1025 for General and OBC candidates and for eligible candidates (SC/ ST and OBC (NC) family income less than 2.5lakhs and OBC-NC candidates with income less than 1 lakh) the fees would be Rs. 250 + bank charges can be paid online through Credit card/ Debit Card/ Online transaction. Other SC/ST candidates family income more than 2.5 lakes the application fee would be Rs. 500/- 
Candidates applying online will be asked to choose between two modes of payment 'Cash' or 'Payment Gateway' in the online application form. If the preferred mode of payment is 'Cash', a payment challan has to be downloaded from the 'Download Challan' tab. NITIE Alumni Association (NAA) has been functioning to maintain the alumni relations of NITIE amongst the past students. Maintaining a strong alumni relations program is essential to the growth and development of our institute. ·         Provided they qualify the above criteria for examinations appeared till date.
