About College:

Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali (Punjab), an autonomous institution of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nano science and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013, the date on which its first Director was appointed. The institute is currently operating from its transit campus at Habitat Centre, Sector-64, Phase-X, Mohali, Punjab. The new campus of INST would be set up on 35 acers of land in the Knowledge City at Sector-81 (Mohali, Punjab), next to IISER Mohali campus, which is very near to new Chandigarh International Airport. INST, amongst other scientific institutions of Chandigarh and its nearby area is also part of Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC), an initiative of Punjab Government to foster and sustain close academic alliances between institutions of higher education and research in the Chandigarh region.

The hard copy of application with the following documents should be sent to “The Director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Habitat Centre, Phase - 10, Sector - 64, Mohali, Punjab-160062” so as to reach on or before due date:

(c.) Self-Attested copies of Certificate in support of age, educational qualifications

3.    The envelope containing the application form should superscribe “Application for the Ph.D. Program – August 2019”.

4.    The shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The list of the shortlisted candidates will be uploaded on the Institute website and communication will be sent to candidates on email address given by candidate.

5.    The candidates called for interview will be paid sleeper class rail fare or Non-AC Bus Fare (on production of ticket) from place of residence to Institute and back.

APPLICATION FEES:

The aforesaid application documents should be accompanied by a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 450/- for General/OBC or Rs. 150/- for SC/ST/PH drawn in favor of Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali (payable either at Mohali or at Chandigarh). Please mention your name on the reverse of the DD.

·         The candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII.

·         The candidate must have minimum 3 year’s Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent examination) and completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree by 30th June, 2020 can also apply, subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by 1st October, 2020; otherwise they may be asked to withdraw from the programme.

Selection Process

Candidates who have appeared for the CAT (2019) will be short listed on the basis of the details filled in the application form and their CAT scores. Only the shortlisted candidates will then be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interviews during February and March 2020 at one of the centres, viz. Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai (centres other than Gurgaon are tentative).

Eligibility for PGPIM

·         For PGP-IM, on successful completion of the programme requirements, student will be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGP-IM) from MDI Gurgaon and MIM (Masters in Management) from ESCP Europe. It is a twinning programme approved by AICTE/AIU.

·         Candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII along with Bachelors (4 years minimum) with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India and a minimum of 1 year (one-year) of work experience post-qualification (4-year's Bachelor's degree) as on 31st December 2019.

The basis for computing the percentage obtained by the candidate would be based on the practice followed by the university/institution/board from where the candidate has obtained the degree/certificate. In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/ institution/board from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree/certificate. In case the university/institution/board does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by MDI by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying fraction so obtained by 100.

Selection Process

Online registration will be Open till Friday, November 22, 2019, 17:00 hrs. Candidates have to make an online payment of Rs 3000/-(Incl. of 18% GST) using Credit/Debit card/Net Banking.

NOTE: Applicants have to fill single application form. The preferences of PGPM/PGP-HRM/PGP-IM will be taken only from the shortlisted candidates in the month of January/ February 2020. The shortlisted candidates have to login at MDI website and enter their order of preference for PGPM/PGP-HRM/PGP-IM based on the eligibility criteria for all programmes. Preferences once filled will not be changed at any stage later on.

The Institute uses CAT score for short-listing the candidates for its two-year full time Post Graduate Programs in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the program.

Step 2:

Candidates are also required to apply separately for MBA/MBA IB programs of the Institute through University Admission Portal (www.bhuonline.in) for which the online application process is open from 10, September 2019 to midnight on 25, January 2020.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has entrusted the responsibility of conducting CSIR-UGC NET in CBT mode to NTA. CSIR-UGC NET is a test being conducted to determine the eligibility ‘for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship/Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid down by UGC. Online applications for JRF/NET are invited twice a year on all India basis through Press Notification of CSIR-UGC NET for JRF and LS/AP.

CSIR and UGC provide Research Fellowships for training in methods of research under expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University Department/ National Laboratories and Institutions in various fields of Science. CSIR-UGC NET Fellowships are tenable in Universities/IITs/Post Graduate Colleges/Govt. Research Establishments including those of the CSIR, Research & Development establishments of recognized public or private sector industrial firms and other recognized institutions. Only bonafide Indian Citizens are eligible for the test. CSIR-UGC NET Fellowship is tenable in India. The programme is aimed at National Science & Technology Human Resource Development.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI), has establishedNationalTesting Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous and selfsustained premier organization under the Societies RegistrationAct, 1860, registered as a self-reliant and self-sustained premier testing organization.

Some of the objectives,inter alia, include:

(i)           To conduct efficient, transparent and international standard tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission.

(ii)          To undertake research on educational, professional and testing system to identify gaps in the knowledge systems and take steps for bridging them.

(iii)         To produce and disseminate information and research on education and professional development standards.

Mode of Examination:

The Examination shall be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) only.

The NTA will conduct the next CSIR-UGC NET for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Lectureship (LS)/assistant Professorship on 15th December, 2019 for following subjects.

5.    Mathematical Sciences

The test will be conducted in two different shifts as given below:

Eligibility:

Essential Educational Qualifications:

M.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.

Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination as on the closing date of online submission of Application Form, are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that they complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship.

Such candidates will have to submit the attestation form duly certified by the Head of the Department/Institute from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared.

B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates are also eligible to apply. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D program within the validity period of two years. Candidates possessing only Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply only for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and not for Lectureship (LS)/ Associate Professorship.

Specification of degrees (whether Bachelor’s or Master’s) as notified by UGC in its Gazette Notification No. F. 5-1/2013 (CPP-II) dated 5th July, 2014 and as amended from time to time, shall apply.

The eligibility for lectureship/ Assistant Professorship of NET qualified candidates will be subject to fulfilling the criteria laid down by UGC. Ph.D degree holders who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991 with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for Lectureship/ Assistant Professorship only

Upper Age limit:

(a)   JRF: Maximum 28 years as on 01.07.2019 {upper age limit may be relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability(PwD)/ female applicants and 03 years in case of OBC (Non Creamy Layer) applicants}.

(b)   Lectureship (LS)/ Assistant Professorship: No upper age limit.

How to Apply:

1.    Candidates can apply for CSIR-UGC NET December 2019 through “Online” mode only.

2.    Submission of Online Application Form may be done by accessing NTA website csirnet.nta.nic.in The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.

3.    Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.

4.    Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in the Information Bulletin and on NTA website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.

5.    Candidates must ensure that E-mail Address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are their own as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on registered Mobile Number only.

Follow the steps given below to Apply Online:

Step-1: Apply for Online Registration using unique Email Id and Mobile No.

Step-2: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the system generated Application No.

Step-3: Upload scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph (file size: 10 kb - 200 kb) and Candidate’s Signature (file size: 4kb - 30kb) in JPG/JPEG format.

Step-4: Pay fee using SBI/Syndicate/HDFC/ICICI/Paytm Payment Gateway through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI and keep proof of fee paid. In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is cancelled, and amount will be refunded to the candidate’s account. However, the candidate has to make another transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is not generated.

·         Download, save and print copies of Confirmation Page after successful remittance of fee and keep copies safely for future reference.

·         All the 4 Steps can be done together or at separate times.

7.    Candidates are advised to visit the NTA website and check their e-mails regularly for latest updates.

8.    Candidate shall appear at their own cost at the Examination Centre on Date and Shift indicated on their Admit Card issued by the NTA.

9.    Any request to change the Examination Centre, Date, Shift and NET Subject provided on the Admit Card shall not be considered under any circumstances.

Note:

1.    The final submission of Online Application Form will remain incomplete if Step-3 and step-4 are not complete. Such forms will stand rejected and no correspondence on this account will be entertained.

2.    No request for refund of fee once remitted by the candidate will be entertained by NTA under any circumstances.

3.    The entire application process of CSIR-UGC NET December 2019 is online, including uploading of scanned images, Payment of Fees, and Printing of Confirmation Page. Therefore, candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including Confirmation Page to NTA through Post/ Fax/ by Hand/E-mail.

·         Admission to Ph.D. Programme shall be based on merit in entrance test and interview. Entrance Test is of 100 Marks, written test (70 Marks) of 90 minutes duration (MCQs) followed by Interview (30 Marks).

Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Energy Management (PGCEM)

Duration: 1 Year

Eligibility:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology. Candidates appearing in the final degree examination can also apply, but must produce cumulative mark sheets of the entire course during the time of Interview. They must have excellent analytical and creative bent of mind and aptitude for applied work. There is no age restriction.

AWARD OF CERTIFICATE

Candidates who qualify in the prescribed examinations, project and other evaluations will be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Energy Management. This PG certificate is widely recognized by the Industry.

SELECTION

After screening the applications received, the selected candidates will be called to appear for an interview (at their own cost) at one of the centers which would be intimated.
