Eligibility for Master Programme:

a)    Candidate shall possess a Bachelor degree in the respective subject from recognized University / institute on or before the due date mentioned.

b)    Candidate shall have 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 5.50/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates at bachelor degree level.

c)    A candidate for master degree programme should be a citizen of India and must have studied in any educational institution in Karnataka State for a period of seven academic years at any time up to the Bachelor degree as on 1st July of the admission year. [Not applicable to candidates who are GOK, GOI, ICAR nominees, NRIs and Foreign Nationals (FN)]. ·         Candidates must have scored a minimum of 55% (aggregate of second and/or third year marks for medical courses). However, a concession of 5% marks is allowed to SC/ST candidates. For MD/MS candidates, the decision of the selection committee appointed by the Director-cum-VC is final

·         Candidates with MD/MS, DM/MCh degrees who are themselves acting as chief guides cannot apply

·         Post graduate degrees awarded by distance education will not be considered.

·         A JRF/SRF working in a project funded by the Institute or any other extramural funding agency and teaching faculty working on ad hoc basis or on daily wage / contract basis can apply for full time registration in a PhD programme. Selection Procedure

The applications should be complete in all respects. Those applications which are incomplete shall be summarily rejected and the decision of the selection committee shall be final. The selection will be made by the committee based on written test and / or interview. The final selection list will be notified and will be communicated to the successful candidates. Admission Requirements:

1.    A candidate seeking admission to the course for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) shall have to obtain at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent Grade point.

2.    Relaxation upto 5% marks may be availed by the candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

3.    All applicants seeking admission to the Doctoral programme of the University [except foreign students applying for admission as provided for under clause 9] must clear the Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test (DURAT).

4.    The DURAT is to be conducted annually by the University. The mode of conducting the DURAT shall be decided by the Research Council time to time.

5.    The candidates who have qualified the UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/GPAT teacher fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil programme (in regular mode and in the concerned subject) are exempted from appearing the DURAT.

6.    However, these candidates have to apply for admission as per the University Notification. These candidates have to appear a viva-voce/ interview for getting selection for admission.

7.    Not more than 50% of the seats in the subject concerned shall be filled up by the candidates, who are exempted from appearing the DURAT as per the provisions above.

8.    A candidate may also be enrolled if she/he has any other degree recognised as equivalent to the Master’s Degree in the subject in which the candidate wishes to pursue a course of research, provided the candidate fulfills the conditions at (i) above.

9.    Under special circumstances, a candidate may be allowed by the Research Council to undertake research in a subject other than one in which she/he has obtained Master’s Degree.

10.Before permitting the candidate to do so, the Council shall satisfy itself that the branches are inter-related and/or the candidate is competent to undertake research in the particular subject as evidenced by published/practical works.

11.A candidate with a B.E./B.Tech. Degree with a valid JRF-GATE score may also be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme.

Reservation Policy:

·         Statutory Reservation Policy shall be followed as below:

·         Scheduled Caste (SC): 7%

·         Scheduled Tribes Plains (STP): 10%

·         Scheduled Tribes Hills (STH): 5%

·         OBC/MOBC (non creamy layer): 15%

Admission Procedure

·         The Teaching Department/ Centre of Studies concerned shall receive the documents of the intending candidates till 4.30 P.M. of 30ty August 2019.

·         The list of the candidates invited for Viva-Voce shall be notified by the University concerned in the website by 10th September 2019.

·         There will be a Viva Voce Examination for all the candidates as below:

o    For 30 % weightage for the candidates qualified the DURAT 2019

o    For 100% weightage for the candidates who are exempted from appearing the DURAT 2019

·         The admission to the Ph.D. and M.Phil Programmes shall be within 12th to 17th September, 2019 at the teaching Department/ Centre of Studies concerned. The actual schedule of admission shall be notified along with the list of candidates selected for admission in the University website.

Eligibility:

A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

1.    **Medical qualification: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/DM/M.Ch in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board (DNB) of Examination will be considered eligible for the admission.

Eligibility:

NIBM will use scores of CAT 2018 / XAT (2019) / CMAT (2019) for short-listing candidates for Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview.

The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.  The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree.  In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply.  Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/ Director of the University/Institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks.  Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2019 from the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2019) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute with at least 50% marks. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is October 31, 2019.  Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.  NIBM would not allow any candidate to join the programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2019. 

Instances of any incorrect information and process violation detected at any stage of the selection process will lead to disqualification of the candidate from the selection process. If such instances go undetected during the current selection process but are detected in subsequent years, such disqualification will take place with retrospective effect.

Admission Procedure

Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM (B&FS) of NIBM should appear for CAT 2018/ XAT (2019)/ CMAT (2019). Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT 2018/ XAT (2019)/ CMAT (2019) scores will be called for Writing Ability Test and Interview during April 2019 in select centers. Short listed applicants may have to take additional written test if required at a later stage. IIMs or any other Institutions will have no role either in selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

In case of Grades/ CGPA, the same must be converted to “Percentage of Marks” based on procedure certified by the awarding University/ Institution. Those who are in the final year, enter average percentage of all the semesters for which result is declared. However, the student should have obtained at least 50 per cent marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks.
