National Institute of Rural Development is an autonomous organisation of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. The institute's services are available to different ministries/ departments of the Central and State Governments, banking institutions, public and private sector organisations, civil society organisations and other national and international agencies connected with rural development. Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognised University. Students who are in the final year and expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before 1 st January, 2017, may also apply.

SELECTION PROCESS: Selection of candidates will be made through a process of All-India Entrance Test which will test the verbal, quantitative and analytical competencies of the students including English Language. Group Discussion and Personal Interviews will be conducted for the short-listed candidates.

ENTRANCE TEST: The Entrance Test will be conducted on 06.11.2016 at the following centres: Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur,Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Patna, Pune and Thiruvanantapuram. However, the NIRDPR reserves the right to cancel any of the centres or add new centres for any administrative reasons and assign any other centre to the applicants.

PROGRAMME DURATION: (One year) January 2017 – December 2017

COURSE FEE: For Open / OBC Category Rs.1.60 Lakhs (excluding boarding and lodging) For SC/ST/PWD category Rs.1.25 Lakhs (excluding boarding and lodging)

Board and Lodging: The annual board and lodging expenses will be Rs.1,00,000. Accommodation will be given to the students in the NIRDPR Hostel.

Caution Deposit: A refundable Caution Deposit of Rs.10,000 is to be paid along with the First Trimester Fee.

Seat Registration Fee: Upon selection, a non-refundable Seat Registration Fee of Rs. 20,000 should be paid by the Indian students. This amount will be adjusted against the First Trimester Fee.

SCHOLARSHIPS: 1. Ten students will be eligible for NIRDPR’s Scholarship based on their performance. 2. The North Eastern Council, Shillong, will be approached for giving fellowships to economically backward students of North Eastern states.

RESERVATION: Reservations for the students of the SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and Persons with Disability (PWD) will be made as per the Government of India norms.

PLACEMENT: NIRDPR will make efforts for placement, but does not guarantee the same.

Burdwan is an anglicised version of the Sanskrit Vardhamana and the corresponding Bardhaman in Bengali. The origin of this name dates back to sixth century BC and is ascribed to the twenty-fourth Jain Tirthankar, orVardhamanswami, who spent some time in Astikagrama, according to the the Jain Kalpasutra. This place has been renamed as Vardhamana in his honour. 1.      Payment of Fee: The provisional admission will be deemed to be confirmed for the provisionally admitted candidates fulfilling the required eligibility criteria and on payment of fee of the first semester by July 29, 2016.

2.      Eligibility Criteria: Candidates have to submit their original certificates of qualifying examination (10+2) for verification on August 01, 2016 at Faculty of Law, IFHE, Hyderabad and complete the verification process for the required eligibility criteria.

For final year (10+2) students: Final-year students of (10+2) who have not received the original certificates from the Board by August 01, 2016 will have to submit the same along with a set of photocopies on or before October 01, 2016.
