(a)   A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised university, in any discipline. OR

(b)  Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations are also eligible to apply to all the programmes, except the four programmes offered by the School of Health Systems Studies; provided they have successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of 3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4 years. Candidates applying for the M.A. Education (Elementary) programme should complete all the requirement. In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands cancelled.

 (c)   Candidates applying for the Master of Public Health in Health Policy, Economics and Finance; and Master of Public Health in Social Epidemiology Programmes should have (i) A Master’s Degree in any discipline, or (ii) A Bachelor’s Degree in medicine/para-medical courses.

(d)  Candidates who are in their final year Bachelor’s Degree Programme are not eligible to apply for admission to any of the Master’s Degree programmes, conducted by School of Health Systems Studies, i.e., Health Administration; Hospital Administration; Public Health in Social Epidemiology; and Public Health in Health Policy, Economics and Finance.

(e)   Candidates applying for the Master in Habitat Policy and Practice should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences, with some inclination towards habitat related issues/sectors.

(f)    Medical graduates should complete their internship. Otherwise, their candidature/admission stands cancelled.

All candidates are required to apply online through the E-application only, available on the Institute's website www.tiss.edu.

Candidates applying through the online mode should pay Rs. 800/- (if applying for one programme), Rs. 1600/- (if applying for two programmes) and Rs. 2,400/- (if applying for three programmes) by submitting a prescribed challan to any branch of the State Bank of India (this challan can be downloaded from the TISS website). The portion of the prescribed challan marked for TISS should be sent along with the application and the portion marked for candidate should be preserved till the GD/PI gets over. The candidate will be able to download the challan once they fill up the complete details of the application form and before taking out a print of the filled-in application. Please note that the SBI will charge Rs. 50/- as their processing fee, which cannot be adjusted against the application fee.

For candidates applying online, payment has to be made only through the SBI, and the payment challan has to be submitted to the Institute along with the Application Form. If payment is made via demand draft, pay order or any other mode, the application will be rejected and no communication to this effect will be sent to such candidates.

Candidates from remote places where no Internet and telecommunication facilities are available can get OMR-based application form from the Institute by following the instructions given below:

(A)   Please prepare a Demand Draft from any branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) drawn in favour of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, payable at SBI, Deonar, Mumbai (Branch Code 03109) for Rs. 800/- (if applying for only one programme), Rs. 1600/- (if applying for only two programmes), or Rs. 2400/- (if applying for three programmes).

(B)   Please send the Demand Draft to the Assistant Registrar (Academic) of the Institute along with a self-addressed (A4-sized) cloth-lined or thick envelope with a postal stamp of Rs. 50/-, and a request letter containing details of address, contact number, etc. Requests coming without the postal stamp and Demand Draft will not be accepted.

The Institute has the right to not send the OMR-based application to candidates who are not from remote areas place. Please note that the money will not be refunded.

Unemployed Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, whose parent’s /guardian’s income is less than Rs. 1 lakh (Rupees one lakh only), are exempt from paying the Application Fee. They should apply online through the E-application, and if they are from remote places, they can send a request letter without the payment challan and stamped envelope, but with a request letter, a plain self-addressed envelope and copies of Caste and Income Certificates attested by any School headmaster or a Principal of College or a gazetted officer. Requests received without the above Certificates will be rejected and no communication will be sent in this regard.

Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali (Punjab), an autonomous institution of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013, the date on which its first Director was appointed. About College:

Jawaharlal  Institute  of  Postgraduate  Medical  Education  and  Research,  Puducherry  (JIPMER)  under Government of India since the year 1956, is one of the leading Medical Institutions of India. Spread over a sprawling 195 acre campus in an urban locale of Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry), JIPMER is 170 kms by road from Chennai.

JIPMER has been declared as an Institution of National Importance by a Parliamentary Act, i.e. JIPMER, Puducherry, Act, 2008. A copy of the Act was Gazette notified on 14-7-2008 to enforce this Act. Prior to this the Institute was functioning under the administrative control of Directorate General of Health Service, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi.

The Institution is now empowered to award Medical Degrees, Diplomas, etc., under the clauses 23 & 24 of the said Act. Such Degrees / Diploma, etc., shall be deemed to be included in the schedules to the respective Acts governing Medical Council of India, Indian Nursing Council and Dental Council of India, entitling  the  holders  to  the  same  privileges  as  those  attached  to  the  equivalent  awards  from  the recognized Universities of India.

JIPMER imparts Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and Super speciality Medical Training through a working hospital (JIPMER Hospital) with a bed strength of 1500 and a Nursing College.  M.B.B.S., B.Sc. M.Sc., M.D., M.S., Degree Courses are offered in 32 various disciplines. Super speciality departments of Cardiology,  Neurology,  Cardiothoracic  Surgery,  Neurosurgery,  Urology&  Neonatology,  Clinical Immunology,  Clinical  Pharmacology,  Clinical  Haematology  and  Surgical  Gastroenterology  also  offer D.M./M.Ch. Courses.  Fellowship courses are available in four disciplines.   Full-time Ph.D. Programmes are available in six disciplines.

JIPMER aims to provide high quality learning environment for those undertaking taught and research degrees awarded by JIPMER in the Faculty of Medicine. Teaching and Training for M.B.B.S. The Tamil Nadu Open University was established by an Act (No.27 of 2002) of the Legislative Assembly of the Government of Tamil Nadu to benefit those who have been deprived of and/or denied the access to higher education especially destitute, physically challenged, working men and women, economically weaker sections of the society, and those who discontinued education for various reasons, etc. In the main, it aims to reach the hitherto unreached.

The candidates should have passed the UG degree exam in 11+1+3 or 10+2+3 stream; candidates who have direct UG Degree without +2 qualification/post-graduate degree without a UG degree are not eligible

PG Degree (5 years Integrated Course) under 10+2+5 or 11+1+5 pattern shall be considered for admission; but the marks obtained by the candidate in the first three years (major and allied) only taken into account for admission to the B.Ed.SE Degree Course

The candidates qualified in PG Degree and secured 50% of marks with the same major subjects in UG Degree, but not fulfilling the minimum percentage of marks required in UG Degree as per community/category-wise will be eligible to apply

The candidates who have completed a NCTE recognised teacher education program through face-to-face mode

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) was established for providing academic support in improving the quality of school education in India. The focus of the Council is reflected in its emblem. The three intertwined swans symbolise the integration of three aspects of the work of the NCERT, namely, Research and Development, Training, and Extension. Presently not working: Graduates with teaching degree and at least two years of teaching or related experience

Postgraduates in psychology/education/social work/child development/special education

Preference will be given to those with at least one year of teaching or related experience

Candidates from outside India who are not graduates but have teaching degree are required to have three years of work experience in the relevant area

However, admission committee set up for the course will see the academic equivalence of qualifications of these candidates

Minimum percentage of marks for all target groups is 50% (5% relaxation for SC/ST)

Intake Capacity:

The total number of seats at each of the 6 (six) centres (NIE, NCERT (DEPFE), New Delhi and 5 (five) RIEs at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore and Shillong)is maximum 50 (Fifty)
