The Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD), established in April 1970, is a national level professional & non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It has a large membership of individuals and institutions involved in the area of training and development of Human Resource from Government, Public and Private Sector Organizations & Enterprises; Educational and Training Institutions and other Professional Bodies. The Society is affiliated to the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO), Geneva and Asian Regional Training and Development Organizations (ARTDO), Manila. Eligibility:

Graduate or it’s equivalent Diploma from a recognized university.

Post-Graduate or equivalent PG Diploma in any discipline(Experience not essential).

Professionally degree holder like B.E./B.Tech, MBBS, CAIB, ACA, AICWA, M.Ed, etc, (Experience not essential).

OR

Students of final semester awaiting for final result can also apply. They shall be given provisional admission subject for getting eligibility before start of Programme.

EXAMINATIONS

·         The Diploma Board operates through 30 Examination Centers all over India

·         Students can opt to appear for examinations in papers they have completed as and when the schedule for the same is announced. Students can choose to skip and appear for examination in the next batch as per rules

Admission to the Diploma Program is made twice a year, in January and July. Prospectus cum Admission form can be downloaded from the website www.istd.co.in. The TERI School of Advanced Studies was established as a Trust in 1998 with the purpose of providing academic learning programmes. These candidates are required to submit, at the time of interview, a sponsorship certificate from their employer on a proper letterhead, stating that for the period of his/her study at the University, the candidate will be treated as on duty with usual salary and allowances and that he/she will be fully relieved for the period of study for pursuing his/her studies. Sponsored candidate's application will be accepted only from those on the pay rolls of & sponsored by a registered company. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) was established in 1986. Note: Master of Design (M.Des.) is an advanced course that demands an understanding of fundamentals in design and presupposes that candidates would be familiar with the basic skills and theories for successful completion of the programme. The course would not provide any basic knowledge and skill development in design as a part of its Master’s programme.

2. B Educational Qualification for Master’s Programme in Fashion Management- M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management)

      Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.

or

      Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

2. C Educational Qualification for Master’s Programme in Fashion Technology- M.FTech (Master of Fashion Technology)

      B.FTech. from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)

or

      B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.

IMPORTANT NOTE

1.    Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply provided:

(a) That they produce a proof of having acquired the minimum prescribed qualifications at the time of counselling/ admission.

or

(b) If the 12th class/final year/final semester (as the case may be) result of qualifying degree/certificate examination is not declared by the concerned Board/ University till the date of counselling/ admission, his/her admission in such case will be strictly provisional subject to the following conditions:

(i) Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- in the prescribed Proforma (Annexure–I) is submitted. In case the candidate is minor i.e. below 18 years of age, the affidavit shall be signed by his/ her parent/guardian. Candidates/parent/guardians may note that submission of false affidavit is a punishable offence; (ii) Those candidates who are seeking provisional admission due to non declaration of their final year/final semester/12th class (refer Annexure -I) will provide proof of having passed all papers in all the previous years /semesters of qualifying degree examination (whichever relevant).

(iii) The candidates will also bring the date sheet /admit card/ Principal’s certificate as proof of having appeared in the qualifying exam.

(iv) The candidate will submit the final result of qualifying degree/certificate providing his/her eligibility on or before 30th September, 2020 to their Campus Director/Jt. Director where the admission has been granted.

(v) In case the candidate fails to submit his/her final result of qualifying degree in the manner prescribed above to prove his/her eligibility on or before 30th September, 2020, whatsoever the reason may be his/her admission will be treated as null and void (cancelled) and entire fee will be forfeited. Any exception will be as per the decision of DG-NIFT, on a case to case basis.

(vi) The Campus Director / Nodal officer will be responsible to ensure that the eligibility of all students meet prescribed qualification for admission especially in the case of provisional admission. The provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled, if the candidate fails to submit the successful result in time i.e. 30th September, 2020.

(vii) In the case of candidates who have appeared for Supplementary examination(s) in the final semester/ final year of graduation and the result of the same is not declared by the time of counselling/ admission, such candidates will be considered for admission as per the provisions of para 1 (b) above, for the academic session 2020-21.

(viii) In the case of candidates who have appeared for compartment examination(s) in the 12th standard, such candidates will be considered only for provisional admission. He/she will have to clear the compartment examination UNDER THE SAME BOARD, failing which the provisional admission will stand automatically cancelled and entire fee will be forfeited.

2.    Any candidate who has not appeared for the qualifying exam before the date of counselling/ admission to NIFT, will not be eligible.

3.    It is further clarified that provisional admission will be considered only in such cases where the result of Final year/semester of the qualifying degree has not been declared by the concerned Board/ University in its totality. In case the result has been declared by the concerned Board/ University but it has not been declared in a specific case, for any reason, such cases will NOT be considered under provisional admission category.

THE EXAMINATION PROCESS (for all programmes)

All eligible candidates would have to go through an examination process. The process for each programme is separately listed below:

      B.Des: For candidates to the UG Design programmes, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a Situation Test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

      B.FTech: For candidates to the UG Fashion Technology programme, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a General Ability Test (GAT).

      M.Des: For candidates to the PG Design programme, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

      M.F.M.: For the M.F.M programme, the selection process comprises of Written test comprising of a General Ability Test (GAT) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

      M.FTech: For the M.F.Tech programme, the selection process comprises of Written test comprising of a General Ability Test (GAT) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.

The objective type tests are subject to negative marking. The negative marking will apply at the rate of 0.25 each wrong answer.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM (for all candidates other than the foreign national/SAARC/NRI/OCI category)

Candidates can apply online at www.nift.ac.in or https://admission.net/nift2020. Guidelines for applying online may be referred for the purpose. The prospectus is available at NIFT free of cost. The application fee has to be paid through online payment gateway or through Bank Demand Draft issued in favour of “NIFT HO” payable at New Delhi.

(A) Credit Cards /Debit Cards

Payments of application fee (Rs.2000/- or Rs.1000/-) can be made through credit cards/debit cards as explained above. The bank and/or transaction charges on the application fee will be borne by the candidate. Candidates are advised to apply on time.

(B) Demand Draft

Payment of application fee (Rs 2000/-in case of GEN/OBC (Non-Creamy)/ GEN-EWS candidates and Rs 1000/- in case of SC/ST/PWD- candidates) can be made through Bank Demand Draft as explained above. The Demand Draft should be issued in favour of “NIFT HO”, payable at New Delhi. The details of the Demand Draft are to be filled in the online application form.
