About College:

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is the premier R&D organization of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT) for carrying out R&D in IT, Electronics and associated areas.  Different areas of C-DAC, had originated at different times, many of which came out as a result of identification of opportunities. The setting up of C-DAC in 1988 itself was to built Supercomputers in context of denial of import of Supercomputers by USA. Since then C-DAC has been undertaking building of multiple generations of Supercomputer starting from PARAM with 1 GF in 1988. Almost at the same time, C-DAC started building Indian Language Computing Solutions with setting up of GIST group (Graphics and Intelligence based Script Technology); National Centre for Software Technology (NCST) set up in 1985 had also initiated work in Indian Language Computing around the same period.

·         By qualifying in C-DAC's admission tests of December 2019, such candidates can apply for provisional admission in February 2020 batch, subject to the condition that:

·         All parts of their qualifying degree examination shall be completed by the date of joining the course, and

·         Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with at least the required minimum marks shall be submitted at C-DAC by 31 May 2020.

How to Apply:

Application Process

·         The process of admission to C-DAC's PG Diploma courses begins with registration of prospective candidates on the C-DAC website www.cdac.in or acts.cdac.in

·         Admissions to all PG Diploma courses of C-DAC are done through C-DAC's computerized Common Admission Test (C-CAT). Every year, C-CAT is usually conducted in June (for August admissions) and December (for February admissions).

·         Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully while filling the online registration and application forms. Upon registering, candidates will get their Form Number that can be used to log in and fill the C-CAT application form online.

Eligibility:

·         Graduate in Engineering or equivalent (e.g. BE / BTech / 4-year BSc Engg/ AMIE / DoEACC B Level) in IT / Computer Science / Electronics / Telecommunications / Electrical / Instrumentation with minimum 60% marks in the qualifying degree or;

·         Post Graduate Degree in Engineering Sciences with corresponding basic degree (e.g. MSc in Computer Science, IT, Electronics) with minimum 60% marks in the qualifying degree or;

·         MCA with minimum 60% marks in the qualifying degree

Selection Procedure

·         The Entrance Test will be conducted at Hyderabad and Vijayawada. The duration of the objective test will be 90 minutes and the syllabus of the test includes:

·         English, Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning, Computer Fundamentals, C Programming, Data Structures, Data Communication & Networking, Object Oriented Programming Concepts, Operating Systems etc

About College:

The Knowledge Park Centre of C-DAC, Bangalore is the 2nd of C-DAC centres to be established in 1989 and has been concentrating on various aspects of hardware and software development. The range of technologies includes High Performance Computing and Grid Computing with GARUDA, the national grid initiative and as the nodal agency for the ambitious countrywide grid linking all the PARAM platforms as well as other resources from the academia, with a host of applications.

The other major areas include Heritage Computing, which covers activities related to Sanskrit and Vedic Processing (NLP) in Computers. The emphasis is on preserving, understanding and propagating traditional Indian scholastic knowledge base in its original form (including palm-leaf manus) by integrating it in harmony with advancements in Information Technology. Training scholars and Computer scientists is also envisaged.

Real Time Systems Group is another major activity area covering many sponsored and customer projects in the power sector automation, including Embedded Systems, Ubiquitous computing, e-governance projects etc.

There is a wing devoted to Education and Training, through Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS), imparting training in latest trends in ICT sectors. Currently, foray is being made into e-learning as well with emphasis on language teaching.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g. BE/ BTech/ 4-year BSc Engg/ AMIE/ AIETE/AMIETE/ DoEACC B Level, etc.) in Electronics/ Electrical/ Computer Science/ IT or related areas OR Post Graduate in Engineering Sciences (e.g. MCA/ MSc Engg/ MSc (CS, IT, EE, Electronics, Instrumentation, etc.)) discipline from any recognised University.

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected based on C-CAT score.
