Eligibility:

For admission to the Ph. D. programme in a subject under any Faculty the applicant shall fulfill the following criteria:

1 Faculty of Medicine:

A candidate who has passed MD/MS Degree examination in the concerned subject from an Institute which is recognized by the Medical Council of India,

OR

Candidate having Diploma in National Board (DNB) qualification in the concerned subject

OR

A candidate having passed M. Optometry, M.Sc.(Medical) Degree examination from a recognized University in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

2 Faculty of Dentistry:

A candidate who has passed a Master in Dental Surgery (MDS) Degree examination in the concerned subject from an Institute which is recognized by the Dental Council of India.

3 Faculty of Nursing:

A candidate who has passed a Master of Science Degree examination in M. Sc. Nursing from a recognized university with a minimum of 55 % marks in aggregate.

4 Faculty of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics:

A candidate having passed Master Degree examination from a recognized university, i.e., (M.Sc. or M. Tech.) Degree from any branch of Science related to Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, such as Chemistry / Biology/ Life Sciences / Microbiology/ Biotechnology, Bioinformatics/Plant Environmental//Pharmacy/Environmental//Pharmacy/Agriculture Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences etc. with a minimum of 55% Aggregate Marks in aggregate.

5 Faculty of Management:

A candidate having passed Master Degree Examination in Management or Business Administration or Management related subjects with a minimum of 55 % marks from a recognized university in aggregate. The fellow members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and/or Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India or of Institute of Company Secretaries of India shall be eligible, provided that they possess a Bachelor Degree of any statutory University with a minimum 55% marks in aggregate. Such candidate should have at least 5 years professional experience.

6 Faculty of Ayurved:

A candidate who has passed a Master Degree examination in Ayurved from a recognized Institute which is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine

7 Faculty of Homoeopathy

A candidate who has passed a Master Degree examination in Homoeopathy from a recognized Institute which is recognized by the Central Council of Homoeopathy Application for research in inter-disciplinary areas and from applicants belonging to a faculty or a subject other than the faculty or subject in which the research is proposed to be done and also from the international students, shall be considered on the basis of the proven ability and aptitude for researcher as evidenced by his/her publications/ research work/academics.

A relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non- creamy layer) differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Vidyapeeth from time to time. A candidate who have cleared the M. Phil. Course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate of its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC-7 point scale or an its equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever, grading system is followed and successfully completing M. Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work relating the Ph. D. in the same Institution A person whose M. Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme of the same Institution; Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M. Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational Institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.

A candidate shall submit on line application to the Registrar in the prescribed format available at the Vidyapeeth website together with the processing fee, to be paid online within the stipulated time furnishing the following information:-

Incomplete online application received by the Vidyapeeth shall be rejected and no correspondence shall be entertained by the Vidyapeeth.

About College:

NITIE Alumni Association (NAA) has been functioning to maintain the alumni relations of NITIE amongst the past students. Maintaining a strong alumni relations program is essential to the growth and development of our institute. With this motive in mind, the Executive Committee of the NAA has approved a proposal to create a Corpus Fund from the Alumni of NITIE. The donations will be accepted for both specific projects and general purposes. General contributions will be credited to the corpus fund. The management of the fund will be looked after by a committee chaired by the director and comprising of two senior faculty members and two representatives of Alumni.

To ensure that the alumni of NITIE continues to be closely knit, NAA organizes Regional Alumni Meets every year to facilitate better interaction amongst the alumni and to strengthen their links with the institution. Last year we had the Chennai alumni meet at the picturesque Buena Vista beach resort at Neelangarai beach. Despite a heavy downpour, games like beach football and Housie were played followed by an elaborate two hour lunch.

Eligibility 

Institute uses CAT 2019 (Common Admission Test) scores for shortlisting/selecting the candidates for PGDIM and PGDISEM programmes. The candidates should follow the CAT 2019 advertisement of IIMs. However, IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of NITIE Programmes.

ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION:

INDIAN STUDENTS

Engineering/Technology graduates in any branch with aggregate* 60% marks (relaxation of 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD (Persons with disabilities) candidates) and a valid CAT score. The reservation of seats exists for SC/ST/OBC-NC (Non-Creamy) and PwD candidates as per Govt. of India rules.

Final year Engineering/Technology candidates can also apply, provided they qualify the above criteria for exams appeared till date. Students appearing for final year exams in 2020 will be permitted to submit their result by September 30, 2020. Their admission will stand cancelled in case they fail to meet the qualifying requirements.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview at NITIE, Mumbai.

SC/ST candidates are granted Central Sector Scholarship as per the scheme of Govt. of India vide letters No.11016/19/2005.SCD-1 dated 21.06.2007 & No.19012/36/-5-Education dated 27.06.2007 subject to the satisfactory fulfillment of terms and conditions mentioned therein.

Sponsored Seats: Seats are available for Sponsored Candidates in PGDISEM. Sponsored Candidates must be from reputed Industrial Organization/Academic Institution. The Candidates must have aggregate* 60% marks in Engineering/Technology with two years of full time work experience as on last date of submission of application as prescribed. CAT score is not required for sponsored candidates. However they are required to attend a written test and Personal interview to be conducted at the institute. Sponsored candidates should also fill-in the Sponsorship Form available on the NITIE website.

ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION:

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

15% of the approved intake (in supernumerary quota) will be reserved for international students in each programme offered by NITIE. Entry level qualification shall be at par with that of Indian students as specified above and the candidates should have a valid GMAT score. Foreign candidate should have a valid TOEFL or IELTS score. All the candidates are required to have a minimum of 18 (eighteen) months of stay at overseas countries as on last date of submission of application as prescribed. All international candidates must submit a SOP (Statement of Purpose) and two LORs (Letters of Recommendations) in soft copy. Shortlisted candidates should attend the interview along with Indian students; if not feasible, there is an option for interview through video conferencing.

For calculating the aggregate, all semesters’ marks/SGPA/percentage shall be averaged.

Applicants seeking admission  for a Ph.D / Integrated Ph.D Programme in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Neuroscience or Computational Biology in  one  of the Participating Institutes may appear for the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) at one of the Exam Centers.

The Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB) (statutory body established through an Act of Parliament) recognizes JEST as a National Eligibility Test (NET) in their office Memo vide OM No.SB/S9/Z-01/2015.  Fellows working in SERB programmes and qualified in NET are eligible to get enhanced fellowship.

Participating Institutes have their own eligibility criteria. Applicants who are expected to complete their final examinations by August of each year are also eligible to appear for the JEST exam of that year.

·         Applications for JEST- 2020 can be submitted ON-LINE ONLY.

·         Before filling the ON-LINE application form, candidate is requested to read the following instructions carefully.

ON-LINE Application

To apply online, applicants must create an account using a valid email-id. This account will remain valid from the time of account creation till one month after the date of declaration of results, for that year. Email-ids are linked to the created account as well as  to the application, and will be used for all communications with the applicants. Therefore, the email-id should be active and must not be changed during this period. To submit application online,  applicants must login to the created account and complete the application form. After submission, an unique submission number will be sent to your email-id. Please save all the emails sent to you and the unique submission number must be quoted by the applicant for any communication with the JEST authority.

·         An Application Fee of Rs. 400 (Rs 200 for SC/ST, Female applicants ONLY) is required to be paid along with the application which can be paid online using Debit/Credit cards and Net-banking. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.

·         Candidates who have successfully completed the M.Phil. Degree with 55% marks or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed), shall be eligible to take admission to the Ph. nternational candidates (NRIs, Foreign Nationals and PIOs who have obtained Master's degree from foreign universities) are required to qualify IELTS with 6.5 score or IELA Test (Band 3) of SIU ELTIS, an equivalent test for English language proficiency.

Instructions for Registration: This process is meant for registering you on the website for the admission process of SIU's Ph.D. Programme, 2019. The candidates are instructed to

  1. Note that the entire application process is online and they are not required to submit any hard copy of application to the University.

The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, (DIAT) as it is known today, came into being as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME campus. In 1967, the Institute was renamed as "Institute of Armament Technology, (IAT)", which moved to its present location at Girinagar, Pune. From the relatively narrow scope of Armament Studies alone in the Fifties, the role of the Institute was considerably enlarged by the Defence R&D Council in 1964 and further in 1981. On the basis of accreditation by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Pune University recognised eight courses for the award of ME degree in 1980. In the year 2000, the Institute acquired the status of a Deemed University. IAT has been renamed as DIAT w.e.f. 1st April 2006.

Eligibility:

a)   Qualification

A candidate, seeking admission to the Ph.D. program, shall be required to have passed the qualifying examination securing at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA/DGPA. A relaxation of 5 % of marks may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy-layer) / PWD - (Divyang) categories. The qualifying degrees are:-

a) Master of Engineering/Master of Technology (or equivalent) for Ph.D. in Engineering/Science.

b) Master in Science (M.Sc. or equivalent) for Ph.D. in Science

A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with the requisite percentage of marks as prescribed above and who fulfill the following requirement may be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme:-

a) Qualified in a national level test such as, CSIR/UGC NET , Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship, subject wise and category wise GATE/NET cut off will be decided by DIAT.

b)   Age limit

Not above 30 years as on 10th Dec 2019.

Relaxations as per GOI rules apply to SC / ST / OBC / PH applicants.

Note:-

·         The Institute shall implement the reservation policy in Ph.D. admission in accordance with relevant act of Parliament being in-force from the time.

·         A physically Handicapped SC/ST/OBC candidate shall not get double benefit of being an SC/ST/OBC as also a PWD candidate.

Selection: Admission to Ph.D. will be based on the performance in the entrance exam (written test) conducted by the department concerned followed by a personal interview.

Financial Assistance:

a)    The selected Ph.D. candidates against this admission notice, admitted as full-time Ph.D. students will be provided financial assistance as per Institute rules, in force from time to time. The Ph.D. students (who are provided Institute fellowship) will be required to assist in research and teaching activities for a maximum of 10 hours per week in addition to their own duties.

b)    In addition to the Ph.D. scholarship, such candidates would also be entitled for contingency grant (presently `15,000/- per year) in accordance with the decisions of the Institute.

Boarding / Lodging:

Selected candidates will be provided hostel accommodation (Exclusive Girls Hostel available). Mess facilities are available on payment basis. The present monthly charges towards boarding and lodging are ` 7000/- (subject to revision). However, ` 40,000/- is to be deposited at the beginning of each Semester towards lodging and boarding charges, in advance. A security deposit of ` 10,000/- would need to be paid to Hostel Office.
