About College:

ESTABLISHED IN 1958, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Jawaharlal Nehru Academy of Languages is one of the oldest institutions in the Capital City offering intensive courses in foreign languages. The Academy has celebrated its Golden jubilee on 5th April, 2008 with Sh. Shiv Shankar Menon, Foreign Secretary, Govt. of India, as Chief Guest. Qualified and experienced teachers coach students to acquire proficiency in the following major foreign languages from certificate to higher diploma levels.

Course Name:

Course in Foreign Languages [Specialization: French, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Russion, Portuguese, German, English Foundation, advanced English and Creative Writing]

Eligibility:

Persons who have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination or equivalent are eligible for admission. Classes start in January and August. The minimum number of students required for starting a language class would be 15.

If in any Semester the minimum enrolment is not available, it is possible that in the particular semester that Course may not be conducted. Fees collected will be refunded in full.

Time-Table for Classes:

The classes in French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Russian and Arabic are conducted twice a week. Classes in German will be held four days a week. Classes in English will be for 4 days a week. Suitable teaching aids and tools are employed. Timing of each language is fixed separately.

Arrangement also exists for morning classes in French Semester I & VI generally for two days in a week from 7.30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

PhD Admission Process:

a.    PhD admission shall be done twice a year in an academic year viz July and January on the basis of a written test followed by interview. The exact dates for the same shall be notified on the Website of the University

b.    Interested candidates shall apply against the advertisements in the prescribed application forms available from the University and on the website from time to time.

c.    The Entrance Test shall be a qualifying test with qualifying marks of minimum 50%. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific. The syllabus for the entrance examination is available at the Lingaya’s University website. which is updated from time to time.

d.    Exemption from Entrance test: Candidates who have qualified in UGC/ CSIR (JRF) Examination/ SLET/ GATE / M .Phil (As a Regular Candidate from UGC Recognized University for admission to non-engineering disciplines), may not be required to appear for Entrance Test of the University. There are two Groups (A and B) of admission under Ph.D. Program

GROUP A: Ph.D. Program - Regular Category who may receive fellowship from the MHRD / CSIR/UGC or any other recognized funding agency

Fellowship: As per MHRD / CSIR / UGC guidelines.

Research Fellowship is available to the scholars who are admitted to Ph.D. programmes in different departments subject to the availability as stipulated by Ministry of Human Resources Development. The award and renewal of the fellowship is as per the guidelines issued by MHRD, from time to time.

Eligibility for application in GROUP A:

1.    Students for admission into Ph.D. Programs in Engineering Departments must satisfy one of the following criteria:

i)M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks). For SC/ST candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks). and

ii)B.E./B.Tech. with an excellent academic record with valid GATE score and with a CPI of at least 8.0 (on 10 point scale) or equivalent (75% of marks). For graduates from IITs/NITs, the minimum CPI requirement is 7.0 (on 10 point scale). For SC/ST candidates, there is a relaxation of 0.5 CPI or 5% of marks.

2.    Students for admission into the Ph.D. Programs in Science departments must have a Master degree in the relevant discipline ) with a valid GATE / UGC (JRF) / CSIR (JRF) / NBHM / NET (JRF) score for admission with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks). For SC/ST candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks) ) with a valid GATE / UGC (JRF) / CSIR (JRF) / NBHM / NET (JRF) score for admission.

3.    Students for admission into the Ph.D. Programs in Management Studies departments must have a Master’s degree in Business Administration or Master’s degree in Engineering /Technology with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks) or Master degree in other disciplines with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks)For SC/ST candidates, a minimum CPI of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (55% of marks) . A valid score in NET (JRF) / GATE/UGC (JRF) is required for all.

GROUP B: Ph.D. Program–No financial assistance or stipend by NIT Silchar will be provided for this GROUP.

Following students will be considered under this GROUP:

I)            REGULAR- The regular students are those who work full-time for their Ph.D. and self-financed.

II)         SPONSORED-who are employed in a Central/State Govt. Departments/PSUs/Reputed Educational Institutes/Research organizations/Reputed Industries for doing research in the Institute on a full-time basis. He / She should have at least two years of working experience in the respective field. The candidate must submit the filled-in sponsorship letter (FORM I) from the employer with the application for admission. He / She shall not be entitled to any financial support from the Institute.

III)       PART-TIME This category refers to the candidates who are professionally employed personnel. They have to stay in the Institute/around the Institute at least during the period of course work so that they can attend regular classes as per the Institute academic norm. The applicant must be an employee of a State/Central Govt. Departments/PSUs/ Reputed Educational Institutes/Research organizations/Reputed Industries at the time of admission having at least one year experience in the discipline in which admission is sought. No financial assistance shall be provided by the Institute to such students. A No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institute/Organization, in which he/she is employed, must be enclosed with application in FORM II.

IV)        PROJECT STAFF This category refers to the candidates who work on sponsored projects in the Institute.

V)           SPONSORED (EXTERNAL REGISTRATION) - Candidates employed in R&D organizations / educational Institutes having adequate research facilities. Sponsorship certificate (FORM III) from the Head of the organization where the candidate is employed must be enclosed at the time of application.

Eligibility:

Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications to apply for IIM Raipur’s doctoral programme:

Master’s degree/ PGP from IIM's or its equivalent in any discipline, with at least 60 % marks or equivalent grade point average. Or

Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA or CS with at least 60 % marks or equivalent grade point average. Or

Five year Integrated Master’s degree programme in any discipline, with at least 60 % marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Or

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech./ B. Arch.) with a minimum CGPA of 8.01 out of 10 or equivalent.

Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30th June, 2019.

*The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades / CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/ institution. If any University/institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.

Age Limit: Candidate must not be more than 50 years as on June 1st 2019.

Eligibility:

The candidates applying for IIM Raipur’s EFPM programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section of 3 of UGC Act 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an Institution approved by AICTE.

A Master’s degree in any discipline, with at least 60 percent aggregate marks or equivalent grade point average Or

A PGP/EPGP/PGPWE from IIMs with minimum grade point equivalent to 6.0 out of 10 point scale (with no ‘F’s and not more than two ‘D’s in the first year of PGP) Or

Eligibility:

1)    Candidates seeking admission to MBA (TTM) programme shall be required to possess a bachelor’s degree (10+2+3 pattern) in any discipline of a recognized University / Institute or equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks (45% marks for SC / ST / PH).

The candidates who have passed 10 + 2 examinations in any subject from a recognized University / Board with a minimum of 50% marks for UR / OBC (45% for SC / ST / PWD) are eligible to apply for BBA (Tourism & Travel) program.

·         SC/ST/OBC and Kashmiri Migrant students can avail of 5% relaxation in marks either at the qualifying examination or at the entrance examination. The concession cannot be availed at both levels.

·         Reservation for SC, ST, OBC (under Non-creamy layer) and Physically Challenged candidates will be applicable as per Govt. of India rules. However, Physically challenged candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

PhD Programme in Science (industry Sponsored candidates):

Personnel from industry holding a M.Sc. (or equivalent) degree in Sciences

Sponsored candidates who wish to apply for admission to a PhD program (of AcSIR) at CSIR-NCL are requested to get in touch with CSIR-NCL well in advance (preferably before the end of August for the January semester or preferably before the end of March for the August semester) and identify a suitable research advisor depending on the area of research interest of the applicant. The application process will be the same as that for regular candidates. However, sponsored candidates will have to download the filled application form (from AcSIR website) and send the hard copy (by mail or in person) to CSIR-NCL (Student Academic Office, CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune 411008) along with the company's No Objection Certificate, a letter of willingness from a Group IV scientist in NCL to be the guide, a passport size photograph, degree certificates, grade/ marks sheets, caste certificate and any other relevant documents. The hard copy of the application along with all relevant documents should reach CSIR-NCL before the last date stipulated by AcSIR. Selection Procedure:

Admission is through an initial screening based on minimum eligibility criteria followed by personal interview.

Candidates applying to the PhD programme who fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as mentioned on the main page may apply online at the link provided. The list of candidates eligible for appearing for the interviews, after initial screening, will be uploaded on this website. Final list of eligible candidates under different disciplines will be announced after the interviews.  Students may consider staying back in Pune for two to three days more after the interviews, so that in the event of their selection, they may complete the counseling and selection of research guides. Eligibility:

Candidates for admission to the Ph D. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s or MPhil degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (noncreamy layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per UGC Guidelines from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark.

Admission Process

The admission process will include three steps: screening of applications, IIHMR Research Aptitude Test (IRAT) and personal interview.

IIHMR Research Aptitude Test (IRAT)

The IIHMR University will conduct a qualifying test after screening of applications and short-listing candidates. IRAT will be a written test consisting of multiple choice questions from English language proficiency, reasoning, basic quantitative analysis and research aptitude. Admission to the Research Degree program shall be subject to the fulfilment of the minimum cut-off marks as prescribed from time to time by UGC. Final selection for admission shall be made on the basis of the merit of the composite score.

Exemption from IRAT: The following categories will be exempted from the written IRAT: UGC CSIR qualified JRF & NET, SLET, GATE and Teacher Research Fellowship holder and have passed M Phil programme in relevant subjects.

Personal Interview

Personal interview will be conducted on the day of IRAT or next day after IRAT at the IIHMR University, Jaipur. All categories of candidates will be required to appear in the Personal Interview. at the time of interview the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation.

This would be followed by a Personal Interview which will be based on subject knowledge, motivation for doing research, communication skills and overall assessment.

Stage 3: Final Merit List
