The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, (DIAT) as it is known today, came into being as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME campus. In 1967, the Institute was renamed as "Institute of Armament Technology, (IAT)", which moved to its present location at Girinagar, Pune. From the relatively narrow scope of Armament Studies alone in the Fifties, the role of the Institute was considerably enlarged by the Defence R&D Council in 1964 and further in 1981. On the basis of accreditation by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Pune University recognised eight courses for the award of ME degree in 1980. Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria for admission into the Program are as follows:

·         The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree (minimum 55% marks or equivalent) that has been recognized by an authorized body in India. The Bachelor's degree obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or its equivalent.

·         The applicant must have a minimum of three years of full-time work experience as on May 29, 2020 at an officer/executive level or higher; as a professional or as an entrepreneur. Part time work experience, clerical (non-officer/ non-executive) experience and apprenticeship will not be considered as eligible work experience.

·         Applicants require a valid CAT, GMAT, GATE or GRE score to be considered for admission.

I. CAT score validity: Not more than two years old as on 29/5/2020

II. GATE score validity: Not more than three years old as on 29/5/2020

Completed an undergraduate degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline, and have had Mathematics in school up to Class XII. There is no other stream or subject-related eligibility criteria.

How to Apply:

Application Process

Candidates may fill the ISBF Application Form online or offline.

Online Mode: To apply online, visit the portal www.applytoisbf.com.

Offline Mode: To apply offline, you may download the Application Form from the ISBF website or collect it from the ISBF campus.

The form must be completed and submitted at the ISBF campus, via courier or in-person.

Application Fee

Application Fee: Rs. 2,500/-

Mode of Payment: Through online or offline mode.

Admission Process

Filling the Application Form: This is the first and foremost step in the admission process. Applications received are scrutinised and shortlisted candidates are invited for next round.

ISBF Entrance Test (iMET): It is mandatory for all the applicants to appear for the ISBF Graduate Diploma Entrance Test, which is conducted online in each Admission Round. Exemptions from this mandate are granted only on the basis of the following scores: 650 or above in GMAT, or 90 Percentile or above in CAT, or 300 or above in GRE

The ISBF Graduate Diploma Entrance Test examines a candidate’s ability to reason logically and apply concepts and techniques learnt in Mathematics and English.

Personal Interview: Outstation students may appear for PI through online mode via Skype, or through the offline mode at the ISBF campus in New Delhi.
