Course Name:

Ph.D. in Economics (Full Time)

Eligibility:

Master’s degree/M.Phil.degree in Economics from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or CGPA equivalent to B Plus in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from time to time.

Admission Process:

A two-stage process is followed for admission to IIFT Ph.D. Programme.

Stage I: All the eligible candidates will be called for the Written Entrance Test, comprising of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, Econometrics & Mathematics (at least up to Graduate Level) and the Descriptive Test to judge the writing skill of candidates on a subject-specific contemporary issue. It is important to note that the Written Entrance Test is a screening test.

Stage II: Candidates who would qualify in the Written Entrance Test will be called for the Interview*

Indian Scholars

Ph.D. in Management (Full Time):

Master’s degree/M.Phil.degree in any discipline (including IIFT MPIB) from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or CGPA equivalent to B Plus in aggregate.

OR

Diploma courses which are considered equivalent to Master’s Degree (e.g., PGDIM from IIMs) with 55% marks or CGPA equivalent to B Plus, recognized by AICTE/UGC would be considered. In such cases candidates would be required to produce the necessary certificate(s) from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (noncreamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from time to time.

Ph.D. in Management (Part Time):

(b) A minimum of three years relevant experience in Teaching/Research/Industry is required.

Overseas Scholars

•      Overseas candidates those who are having Master’s/M.Phil. Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or CGPA equivalent to B Plus in aggregate can apply only for IIFT’s full time Ph.D. programme.

•      Minimum knowledge of spoken and written English is essential.

There is no scholarship, residential / hostel facility available for overseas scholars in the Institute. However, the Institute can help in search of suitable accommodation for scholars admitted into Ph.D. Programme

Admission Process:

About College:

Towards meeting the growing demand of manpower in the field of technology, the then Delhi Administration, with the approval of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, established a new Engineering College by the name of Delhi Institute of Technology (DIT) in July, 1983. In the year 1983, the Institute started with the academic program at UG level in the area of Electronics & Communication Engineering with an intake of 45 Students under the Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi. New programs in the areas of Computer Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, and Manufacturing Processes & Automation Engineering were added subsequently. Administrative autonomy was granted to the institute in 1986. The Institute was registered as a Society in the name of “Delhi Institute of Technology” (DIT) on 12th June 1987 under the Societies Registration Act No. XXI of 1860 (Registration No. S-17742 of 1987). The Institute initiated Ph.D. programs in 1989 and also formulated a number of PG programs, four of which were approved by the AICTE in the year 1994. The Institute has been and is affiliated to University of Delhi for all its UG, PG and Ph.D. programs.

From 1983 till 1998, the Institute was operating from its old campus at the old I.G. Block, Kashmere Gate, Delhi - 110006. The Institute was formally inaugurated in its own new campus in Dwarka, New Delhi, 23rd January, 1997 by Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee , the former Prime Minister of India. The Institute was renamed as "Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology" (NSIT) in the year 1997 vide Gazette notification No. D.L. - 33002/97 dated 20.02.1997.

Eligibility:

An applicant possessing a Master Degree in Engineering/Technology/Sciences/ Management/Humanities/Social Sciences in the respective discipline or equivalent with a minimum 60% of marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and Bachelor’s Degree with a 60% of marks or equivalent CGPA shall be eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. programme of the University. However, the candidates applying for Teaching-cum-Research Fellowship (TRF) shall be required to have a Master Degree in the respective discipline with 70% marks or equivalent CGPA and Bachelor’s Degree with a 60% of marks or equivalent CGPA. In case, the equivalence between the percentage of marks and CGPA is not defined by the University from where the candidate has obtained the qualifying degree, then the UGC/AICTE equivalence criteria shall be applicable. How to Apply:

Candidates willing to apply for admission in Ph.D programme must visit NSUT Admission website. Online application process will start from Feb 08, 2019. Detailed admission schedule (tentative) is also available on this website along with other related details about courses, eligibility criteria, number of seats, fee details etc.

·         Candidates are required to first register themselves and fill complete Online application form.

·         Separate application forms are to be filled for each division. Candidates need to provide different Mobile number to submit multiple application forms.

·         An 7-digit registration number will be generated by system before filling of Online Application Form. Candidates are required to note down the registration number for future use as this application number is the login ID for candidate’s account on this website.

·         Candidates are also required to upload the scanned images of his photograph and signature in JPEG format only. In case candidate does not upload above images. His/ Her application form will be rejected.

·         Once application is confirmed by the candidate, he/she cannot change any details filled in the application form.

·         After confirmation of the Online Application FORM, candidates can submit the registration fee from student account on admission website.

·         All candidates who have completed and submitted the online application form successfully can later on login to this website using their registration number and password generated during registration process.

NOTE: While filling the application form, students are required to fill the percentage of qualifying examination. In case result is given in CGPA/FGPA student should fill the percentage as per the formula prescribed by the University. (This conversion proof they must produce at the time of written test/Interview/admission). In case University has not prescribed any guidelines, the students should use

the formula as per AICTE guidelines. For example if the CGPA is 8.5 in the scale of 10 then percentage will be .

(8.5-0.75) X 10 = 77.5%

Candidates are required to submit a copy of application form (submitted online) along with one Passport size photograph and one set of attested copies of certificates and mark sheets (please check the list of documents required on the website) on the date of Written Test/Interview. Admission will be offered to selected candidates as mentioned in the admission schedule. The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients. He gave the name "Hamdard" to his venture which means "sympathy for all and sharing of pain". A Student can apply in any of the following three ways:

Visit ISB&M admission office & apply: A student can purchase ISB&M Prospectus from any ISB&M Campus admission office by paying Rs. 1000/- in cash, complete the form and submit to the admission office, along with the photocopy of all the documents. (10th, 12th, graduation mark sheets and entrance test score card & 2 passport size pictures). Completed application form can be submitted in person or by courier / speed post.

Download PDF Form: A student can download the PDF Form using the button Download PDF Form, complete it manually and paste a passport size photo on the form. Attach all the documents (Demand Draft of Rs 1100/- in favor of "International School of Business & Media" payable at Pune towards the application form fees and al ong with the photocopy of all the documents. (10th, 12th, graduation mark sheets and entrance test score card) and send it to the admission office ofISB&M campus. Once the admission office receives the form, the admission office will send mail/courier the prospectus to the student.

Online Application: A student can opt for completing form online; by clicking the tab Apply Online. Once a student complete the application, he/she will get the auto generated 6-digit ISB&M ID (Roll number)

Pay Online:

By using the ISB&M ID, the student will have to pay the application form fee (Rs. 1100/-) by clicking the Pay Online tab using Debit/Credit card.

After successful completion of online payment, the student will get an Online Payment Receipt. A printout of the Online Payment Receipt should be taken for future use.

After successful completion on the online application form, student needs to take a print out of the application form by pressing the Print Online Form TAB, using the 6-digit ISB&M ID (Roll number)

After taking the print out, the student need to send the print out of application form to the admission office of ISB&M campus, along with the photocopy of all the documents. (10th, 12th, graduation mark sheets and entrance test score card & 2 passport size pictures) Once the admission office receives the form, the admission office will send the prospectus to the student. For your own records, keep a copy of completed form for your reference.

The bill for the establishment of Jawaharlal Nehru University was placed in the Rajya Sabha on September 1, 1965 by the then Education Minister, Mr M.C. Chagla. During the discussion that followed, Hon. M.P. Mr. Bhushan Gupta voiced the opinion that this should not be yet another university. New faculties should be created, including scientific socialism, and one thing that this university should ensure was to keep noble ideas in mind and provide accessibility to students from weaker sections of society. The candidates having the following qualifications are eligible to apply for admission to the “Master in Business Administration” (MBA) programme

•      A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

•      For General Category candidates a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree is required.

•      For OBC candidates a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree is required.

•      For SC/ST/PWD candidates a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree is required.

Intake for the MBA programme

ABVSME, JNU, would take 50 students each year for its MBA programme.

How to Apply:

•      Application Fees: Applicants for the MBA programme at Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship, JNU, have to pay the following application fees (non-refundable).

•      Rs. 2000 (two thousand) only for General Category and OBC applicants.

•      Rs. 1000 (one thousand) only for SC/ST/PWD applicants.

•      A candidate has to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2018 conducted by IIMs. Any candidate applying to get admission into the JNU MBA programme must submit his/her CAT Test Registration Number.

•      JNU will use CAT scores for short-listing/selecting the candidates for the MBA programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

•      Those having applied to the MBA programme of ABVSME, JNU, on qualifying the CAT will be shortlisted and then invited for an interview.

•      Common Admission Test (CAT), 2018, scores will be used for short-listing candidates for interviews for admission in the MBA programme of ABVSME, JNU.  At least three times the number of intake in each category would be shortlisted for interviews.

•      The final list of selected candidates will be based on CAT scores and the marks obtained in the interview. The weightage on CAT scores shall be 70% and the weightage of marks obtained in the interviews shall be 30%.

•      ABVSME, JNU, will strictly follow the reservation policy as per Government of India rules.

•      Since MBA is a professional course, no additional deprivation points (as it may be the case in some other JNU courses) will be taken into consideration for admission.

Eligibility:

Minimum qualifications:

a.    M.Sc. in any branch of Science (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics), M.Tech., M.B.B.S., M.V.Sc., M.Pharm., Integrated M.Sc., or equivalent qualification as per norms of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.

b.    At least 60% aggregate score or equivalent grade in Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) and Bachelor’s degree, and55% aggregate score or equivalent grade in Master’s degree are essential for general category. Five percent relaxation in aggregate scores in Senior Secondary, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees will be applicable for candidates from reserved categories [OBC (non-creamy layer; NCL), SC/ST, and PwD]. Rounding off of percentage score to the next integral value is not permitted.

c.    Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in the current academic year are also eligible to apply; they will be admitted provisionally pending satisfactory fulfilment of the eligibility requirements at the time of joining.

d.    Reservations of seats: 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC (non-creamy layer) and 3% for persons with disability (PwD) as per statutory norms.

Selection procedure:

a.    NII will select candidates for the Ph.D. programme through the following Channels:

Channel # 1: Computer-based Entrance Examination, NII-2019,to be conducted by NII at multiple centres all over India on 24th February 2019 (Sunday).

Channel # 2: Joint Graduate Entrance Examination in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS-2019). Candidates applying through JGEEBILS-2019 must submit an application through NII application portal, along with application fees, and the JGEEBILS-2019 admit card.

Candidates must appear in at least one of the two examinations mentioned above. Candidates will be short-listed for an interview based on their scores in either NII-2019 or JGEEBILS-2019. Candidates are encouraged to appear in both the examinations.

b.    The list of candidates short-listed for interviews shall be available on the NII website and Notice Board on or before15th March 2019.

c.    Interviews will be held at the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi from 13th to 15thJune, 2019.

d.    Candidates selected will be enrolled for the Ph.D. programme of NII in academic affiliation with JNU, New Delhi. Candidates joining the programme will be paid second class train fare on providing the proof of journey.

Ph.D. Programme:

a.    The programme will start on 08th July 2019and the allotment of laboratories and thesis supervisors will be made by 12th July 2019, based on the interactions with faculties in the candidates’ area of interest and mutual preference.

b.    The institute currently provides a Junior Research Fellowship of Rs.25000/- per month. Selected candidates who are already fellowship awardees from CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT, and DST may avail those fellowships as per rules governed by the respective funding agency.

c.    NII is a residential campus and shared hostel accommodation will be provided to all the students admitted to the program.
