The JGEEBILS test is a shared entrance test for graduate programmes in Biology and interdisciplinary life sciences. The test originated from the TIFR annual entrance test for Biology, which was used by DBS/TIFR as well as NCBS/TIFR. The motivation for this shared test is to reduce the difficulties that students faced with multiple entrance tests, and to reduce the duplication of effort by many institutions in conducting such examinations. JGEEBILS is intended to serve as a common point for students from any science discipline or engineering to start the process to apply for biology graduate programmes around India. Participating institutions contribute questions and logistical support for conducting the examination. This year the examination will be on 9th December 2018.

Each participating institution has its own admission process and eligibility criteria. The JGEEBILS test is only one step in this. In general, applicants must apply separately to each participating institution that they are interested in. Please visit the institutional websites for details of these different entrance processes.

Question papers from past years are hosted at the TIFR site under the 'Biology' links:

Scholarship is an Opportunity That Should not Be Missed

Scholarship is an Opportunity That Should not Be Missed...

Quality education, brilliant guidance and better resources are some of the most important things that students need for their academic excellence. However, not all of these things are available equally to all students. Most of the times, privileged students with a strong financial background get this golden opportunity to stay ahead among others.

Others either get an education loan or just end up leaving their dreams behind. However, as they say, “Where there's a will, there's a way”, students who don’t want an education loan can opt for scholarship exams. SCHOLARSHIPS are not just a monetary help but also a recognition of student’s talents.

Irrespective of their academic level, students can opt for plenty of scholarships that align with their career goals. While some scholarships are especially given to those who belong to poor families, others offer financial help to students based on merits.

So, if you look for a NATIONAL TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION FOR CLASS 8, you can easily find scholarship exams like Aakash National Talent Hunt Exam (ANTHE) and apply for it. However, before that, it is important to know why scholarship is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.

Here are all the benefits that you get if you win a scholarship:

No Financial Worries

It’s obvious, but still isn’t it exciting if you don’t have to pay any fee to get an excellent education at the premier institute? Whether you wish to prepare for entrance exams like NEET and JEE or wish to pursue a course abroad, you can do it all without worrying about the fee if you win a scholarship. No need to take a loan or make your family feel burdened with the hefty amount to be paid for your education. Just prepare well for the exam and ace it with flying colours.

Guidance from Experienced Faculty

You want to take the medical or engineering competitive exams, but before that, you need excellent guidance from a premier coaching institute. To ensure this, you can opt for scholarship exams such as the one conducted by Aakash Institute. ANTHE is a national talent search examination for class 8, 9 and 10 students and offers scholarship for its classroom as well as distance learning programs. If you ace the exam, you will get the chance to learn from the experienced faculty and prepare excellently for the entrance exams.

Earn Recognition

By winning a scholarship, you don’t just get free education but also earn recognition for your talent which will help you grow further in your career. You will outshine among your classmates; moreover, your parents and teachers will be proud of your achievements. Getting all these at an early age is one of the driving factors that will motivate you to concentrate more on your goals and become a winner.

Get a Boost in Self-Confidence

Self-confidence is one of the key traits of winners. This only comes when you are motivated enough and have complete faith in your abilities. At times, you do not even know that you are capable enough to reach for the bigger milestone in the academic field. Scholarships come as a great option in realising that. Once you secure a good rank, you will know where you stand and then practice well to improve your standing. And in case you win the scholarship, well, there is everything good about it, isn’t it? You not only feel confident but also aware of your future goals.

After reading the above-listed advantages of scholarships, we are sure you will not want to miss this opportunity. However, if you keep on thinking about applying, this opportunity will hardly come your way. So, hurry up and apply for the scholarship to gain amazing benefits.
