Vellore, a district capital in Tamil Nadu, has long been known for its stately fort and temple, renowned hospital and medical college, Parry's factories and the vast government industrial estate in nearby Ranipet. Vellore's history records several dynasties and powers. The Pallavas, Cholas, Pandyas, Hoysalas, Sambhurvarayars, Chalukyas, Vijayanagar, Bijapur Sultans, Mughals, Marathas, French and the British have all ruled the area at one point of time or the other. The twenty or more palaces and forts in the district reflect ancient styles and traditions. Among these, the ancient rock-cut Jain cave temples attract heritage enthusiasts from all over the world for their rich art and beautiful sculpture. Not far away, the remains of the Arcot Fort and the magnificent entrance that Robert Clive named the Delhi Gate are reminders of Clive's successful defence of Arcot in 1751 and his uncanny prediction that, with this victory would begin the march from this gate to Delhi.

Eligibility:

Eligibility and Selection Procedure for BA LLB Hons in VIT University, VITU, Vellore

·         The candidate should be a resident Indian national, and should have studied regular full time and formal education in the preceding two years in schools located inIndia.

·         Candidate must pass in higher secondary examination conducted by the State/Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 70% overall aggregate.

·         Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1996 are eligible to apply.

·         The applicants must have secured an impressive score in each component of the tests of CLAT/ LSAT/ Any other widely recognized Law tests.

By sending a demand draft for Rs.600/- drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’ payable at Vellore to the address of Director - UG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore with a request letter containing the complete address with Mobile number. Or

By handing over a DD of Rs.600/- in person at VIT University.

Selection Procedure for VIT University:

Selection is based on merit.

Marks secured in higher secondary school examination and the performance in group discussion and personal interview are taken into account.

Note: Preference will be given to candidates who have secured good scores in national level law entrance examination.
