About College:

The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities owes its origin to St. Dunstan’s Hostel for the War Blinded established in 1943, which offered a basic set of rehabilitation services to the soldiers and sailors blinded in the World War II. In 1950, the Government of India took over the St. Dunstan’s Hostel and entrusted the Ministry of Education with the responsibility of developing comprehensive services for the rehabilitation of blind persons. Subsequently, services for the blind witnessed remarkable expansion. In the same year, the Government established the Training Centre for the Adult Blind to ensure reintegration of blind soldiers including other persons in the world of work. In 1951, the Government established Central Braille Press; in 1952, Workshop for the manufacturing of Braille Appliances; in 1954, Sheltered Workshop; in 1975 Training Centre for the Adult Blind Women and in 1959, ModelSchool for the Visually Handicapped. In 1963, National Library for the Print Handicapped was established out of which National Talking Book Library was carved out in the year 1990. On integration of all the Units in 1967, the Government established National Centre for the Blind (NCB). This Cent re was further upgraded as National Institute for the Visually Handicapped in the year 1979 and finally in October 1982, it was registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and gained the status of an Autonomous Body.

Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to BPharm Course [through Lateral Entry] for the year, 2018 in the Government and Private Self financing Colleges.       

Eligibility:

(i) Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin.

(ii) Academic qualifications: Candidates should have studied Diploma in Pharmacy (Under Education Regulations 1991 of Pharmacy Council of India) in an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and have passed the Diploma in Pharmacy examination conducted by the State Board of D Pharm Examinations or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for the D. Pharm part I and D. Pharm II Examinations.

(iii) Candidates should have obtained registration with Pharmacy Council and the registration certificate is to be produced at the time counseling.

(iv) Age: There is no upper age limit for admission to the course.

Selection on the basis of Entrance Examination: Selection of candidates for B.Pharm (Lateral Entry) course 2018 will be made on the basis of an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, [CEE] at Thiruvananthapuram on 09/09/2018 (Sunday). The examination will consist of one Paper, of two hours duration and will have 120 Objective Type (Multiple Choice) Questions.

How to Apply:

Submission of Applications and Application Fee: All candidates seeking admission to B.Pharm (Lateral entry) course 2018 can apply in the Online application form available from 14.08.2018 provided in the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fee by way of online payment or by way of e-challan available during the submission of online application. Payment through e-challan can be made in cash at Head post offices in Kerala. After remitting the required application fee upload photo and signature of the candidates and all necessary certificates /Documents. No need to send printout of the application or any documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

Application Fee for General Candidates is Rs.800/- (Rupees Eight hundred only). In the case of SC candidates is Rs.400- (Rupees Four hundred only). ST Candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded. Application form will not be available in the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations or office of the DME. The Prospectus can be downloaded from the website.

Last date and time for online submission of application: All candidates seeking admission to the course should submit the online application along with uploaded Certificates/Documents mentioned in clause 7.3.5 of the prospectus before 5 pm of 31/08/2018. About College:

The Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Thiruvananthapuram, was established in 1981 by the Government of Kerala and Government of India. We are a comprehensive cancer centre catering to the population of the State of Kerala and the adjoining parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. From a modest beginning, the Regional Cancer Centre has evolved into an internationally recognized centre for conducting a wide range of cancer research and providing state-of-the-art facilities for cancer diagnosis, treatment, palliation and rehabilitation. The Regional Cancer Centre undertakes basic, translational and clinical research and disseminate the knowledge.

Applicants should satisfy the following conditions:

a) Nativity: Should be an Indian Citizen

b) Basic Academic Qualifications:

1.      B.Sc. with Physics as one of the Main subjects conducted by any of the UGC approved Universities in India with 60% marks in aggregate of the subjects.

2.      A pass in Full time M.Sc. Physics conducted by any of the UGC approved Universities in India with 60% marks in aggregate of the subjects. In case of Grade System, grade to percentage of marks conversion scheme obtained from University should be submitted along with the application.

General: 26 years

OBC: 29 years

SC/ST: 31 years

d) For physically challenged candidates, there is a relaxation of age by 10 years. Only candidates with physical disabilities limited to the lower extremities, are able to stand and move and are physically able to carry out the course requirements will be considered. Persons with visual and hearing disability and loco-motor disability involving upper limb are not eligible for admission.
