After independence, India witnessed an enormous upsurge in its population. With this upsurge came the challenge of keeping pace with the fast technological development taking place around the globe. To meet this challenge and prepare the country’s youth for the 21st century, a sudden boom took place in the Indian education sector with the rapid growth of universities and colleges.

The Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, was established on October 20, 1995 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana. It was formally inaugurated on November 1, 1995. It is named after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint environmentalist of 15th century. Keeping in view the nature of courses offered at the University and the mandate for which it had been established the name of the University has been changed as Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology. The University is situated at Hisar, a rapidly growing town situated at about 170 Km. from Delhi on Delhi-Rohtak- Hisar- Sirsa- Fazilka National Highway (NH-10) and at a distance of about 230 Km. from Chandigarh on NH-65. The University is situated over a sprawling area of about 372 acres. The campus is laid out with picturesque landscape, numerous buildings of various designs and wide road network. It presents a spectacle of harmony in architecture and natural beauty. Approximately, 225 acres of land have been developed providing with all modern facilities such as road networks, water supply, street lighting, electricity supply and parks/ lawns. The University has a cafeteria with the facility of a big dinning hall, kitchen, store and office on the ground floor. One big hall is also on the first floor. The cafeteria provides refreshment breakfast and lunch facilities. Facilities for special program like tea party etc. are also available here. Besides, there is a Shopping Centre which offers several facilities to the residents, such as saloon, laundry, post office, bookshop, bank with ATM facility, grocery shop, sweets shop, computer and photocopying facilities, etc.

The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) for recognition of degrees on 11.1.1996 and under section 12(B) of the UGC Act to be eligible forcentral assistance on 7.2.1997. The University has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), in 2002 as grade 'A' and has been re-accredited as grade 'A' with (CGPA 3.26), in 2009.

The Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology (Formerly Paddy Processing Research Centre) is a pioneer Research and Development Institute under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. The Institute has its origin way back in 1967 when it was started as R & D laboratory in the Modern Rice Mill complex of Thanjavur Co-operative Marketing Federation (TCMF) at Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India under the dedicated leadership and the able guidance of late Dr. V. Subrahmanyan. an eminent scientist and founder Director, Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore. The Institute was later upgraded as a national laboratory with the name Paddy Processing Research Centre (PPRC) in 1972. At the time of up-gradation the mandates of the Institute were also changed and the scientists in the Institute focused their research in identifying technologies for post harvest procession and preservation of paddy. The Institute was moved to it current location at Thanjavur in 1984. Considering the vital importance of strengthening R & D efforts in the post-harvest processing, preservation and value addition of raw agricultural produce, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) strengthened and upgraded the PPRC as a National Institute in February 2008 and was called as Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology (IICPT).

APPLICATION PROCEDURE PG / PG Diploma courses (Indian Nationals):

1. The candidate can buy application online (Rs. 600 + Service Tax) at our website (using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking facility) or they can submit the application using demand draft (DD) mode at our website [DD for Rs. 600/- drawn in favor of ‘The Registrar, Karunya University’ payable at ‘Coimbatore’].

2. The candidate will receive the Application Number and Passcode after making the payment through SMS, Email. With which, they can submit the application online through our website

3. The candidate can also buy the Hard copy application at Karunya University Campus, Jesus Calls Prayer Towers, Designated Post Offices and Banks

4. If bought the hard copy application, they can submit the online application (through our website) using the pinmailer (available with the hard copy of application).

5. Scanned copies of Photograph and Signature are mandatory to apply online. Upon successful submission of online application, the candidate will receive a confirmation Email / SMS.

6. After receiving the application (if the application fee is received), a call letter (as per the norms) for provisional admission will be generated and sent by Email and hard copy of the call letter will be sent by Speed Post.

7. The candidates should undergo the admission process (online test / interview) in the University campus and pay the prescribed fee (Refer Fee Structure) towards their provisional admission.

8. The admission will be confirmed after receiving the final mark statement as per the norms.

9. The candidate can download the Enrollment Letter at our website from the last week of June, 2017 onwards.
