About College:

Nalanda had been an ancient seat of learning and a religious centre that imparted manifold knowledge. It existed in ancient Magadha (presently, Bihar and parts of Bengal, Orisha in India) between the fifth century AD to twelve century AD. It was believed that the term ‘Nalanda’ might have been originated from the word nalam (lotus), or da nalanda, signifying “giver of knowledge”. The ancient Mahavihara at Nalanda was established during the reign of a king called Śakrāditya, of the Gupta Dynasty. Nalanda was visited by both Buddha and Mahavira around the fifth and sixth centuries BC. It was also the place of birth and nirvana of Sariputta, one of the famous disciples of Buddha. Many of the famous Buddhist scholars had studied and taught at Nalanda including Nagarjuna, who formalised the concept of Sunyata; Dharmapala, the teacher of  Xuan Zang; Dharmakirti, the logician; Dinnaga, the founder of Buddhist Logic; Jinamitra Santaraksita, who founded the first monastic order in Tibet; Padmasambhava, the master of Tantric Buddhism; Candrakīrti, Śīlabhadra and Atisa.

Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program shall have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). PATTERN OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The Entrance Examination will comprise of an objective type test of 100 questions with two parts:

Admission Process For B. Tech. Chandigarh the largest and the most daring experiment in modern urbanism has become the Mecca for architects from all over the world. Chandigarh’s pre-eminence as an International Cityrests largely on the world renowned architect Le Corbusier; who developed its master plan in 1951, based on his urban planning theories and his masterly architectural works.

Note: For those qualifications where the above 4.33 scale is not available, the eligibility will be decided by the Equivalence Committee constituted by the Director, IIFM and its decision will be final.

Financial Assistance

Each student would be given a monthly fellowship of Rs.16,000/- in first and second year; Rs.19,000/- in third and fourth year during the programme. A contingency grant of Rs.35,000/- per year would also be provided.

About College:

Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB), an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, is the only institute in the country which works mainly on Secondary Agriculture and development of value added products from different types of bio resources. Its mandate fits well with the of Govt. of India`s programme on “Doubling the Farmer`s Income” with the same inputs. It also become more relevant in present context when Indian Agriculture is going on complete transformation with limited land resources and increasing input costs. We all are aware that the agricultural wastes are being burnt by many farmers. If this Agri-waste is used to isolate bioactive compounds with high market value, it can directly benefit the farming community by increasing their farm income. It will not only provide new avenues to establish industrial units on utilization of Agri-waste but will also provide new employment opportunities to the rural masses. 

With its five years of establishment, besides moving to its new campus in Sector 81, Knowledge City Mohali, CIAB has made substantial contributions in developing various processes to derive products from the agricultural waste. The Scientists of the institute have been able to transfer two technologies, i) D-psicose-a nearly zero calorie sugar production from the biomass and ii) a liquid whey beverage product named CIAB-NAVITA to the industries. Also, CIAB has signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for three technologies with the industries who have expressed their interests. In addition, institute has developed several other technologies which are at different stages of scale up and commercialization.

About College:

The National institute of Financial Management (NIFM) was set up in 1993 on the basis of a proposal made by Ministry of Finance, which was approved by the Union Cabinet. The Union Cabinet envisaged that NIFM would begin as a training institution for officers recruited by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) through the annual Civil Service Examinations and allocated to the various services responsible for manning senior and top management posts dealing with accounts and finance in the Government of India. Duration: 2 Years Full Time Residential Programme

Eligibility:

Private Participants/ Corporate Executives

(i)           Participants must have completed their Graduation with at least 50% in aggregate from an Indian University / institution recognized by Association of Indian Universities. Preference would be given to the participants having Professional Qualifications such as CA, CS, CWA, CFA, BE/B. Tech, etc.

(ii)          Candidates must have qualified in any one of the all India Common Admission Tests i.e. CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT or GMAT and submit the valid test scores not more than 2 year old

(iii)         The upper age limit is 30 years on the date of commencement of the programme

The decision of the Selection Committee of NIFM for selection will be final and no correspondence in this matter shall be entertained by NIFM.

1.    Minimum percentage of marks at graduation level should be 50%.

2.    The upper age of participant is 40 years on the date of commencement of the programme.

3.    Officers at middle/senior level working with the Central or State Governments, Public Enterprises and autonomous organizations belonging to State / Central Government or similar participants from foreign countries are eligible to apply for admission.

4.    Government officers/PSU officers are exempted from Common Admission Tests i.e. CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT
