SVNIRTAR CET 2017 for BPT, BOT and BPO Admission 2017 

Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) releases the notification for Common Entrance Test (CET-2017) and Post Graduate Entrance test (PGET- 2017). 

SVNIRTAR conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to three Bachelor Degree courses BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy), BOT (Bachelor of Occupational Therapy), BPT (Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics) as per the application and admission procedure detailed in this bulletin.

SVNIRTAR CET 2017 Eligibility Criteria 

Age Criteria 

Only those candidates who are born between 01st January, 1997 and 31st December, 2000 (inclusive of both dates) are eligible. For SC, ST & PH category candidates, the candidate should be born between 01st January, 1992 and 31st December, 2000 (inclusive of both dates). 

Date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation Certificate, Secondary Education Board Certificate (Class X) will be treated as authentic. Candidates must produce original certificate for proof of age at the time of counseling, failing which they will be disqualified. 

Educational Qualification 

BPT Course (4 years + 6 months): 10+2 (Higher, Senior Secondary Exam) ISc or equivalent-recognized exam with subjects Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B) and English with minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB when taken together for General\OBC and 40% for SC,ST & PH candidates 

BOT Course (4 years + 6 months): 10+2 (Higher, Senior Secondary Exam) ISc or equivalent-recognized examination with subjects-Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B) and English with minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB when taken together for General\OBC and 40% for SC,ST & PH candidates 

BPO Course (4 years + 6 months): 10+2 (Higher, Senior Secondary Exam) I Sc or equivalent-recognized examination with subjects Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology(B) or Mathematics (M) and English with minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB when taken together for General\OBC and 40% for SC,ST & PH candidates 

The candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam with essential subjects and results are awaited, can also apply and appear in the entrance test

However, their case will only be considered at the time of counseling on production of documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying exam with required percentage

SVNIRTAR CET 2017 Selection & Counselling, Admission 

Merit list, Waiting list will be generated on the basis of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test-2017. The result and schedule of counseling will be available on the websites www.svnirtar.nic.in by stipulated date. The candidates are advised to appear for counseling based on result published on website.

The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon'ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy's Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it. The report also urged the speedy establishment of all the four institutions with the ones in the East and the West to be started immediately. The committee also felt that such institutes would not only produce undergraduates but they should be engaged in research, producing research workers and technical teachers as well. The standard of the graduates should be at par with those from first class institutions abroad. They felt that the proportion of undergraduates and postgraduate students should be 2:1. 
With the above recommendations of the Sarkar committee in view, the first Indian Institute of Technology was born in May 1950 in Hijli, Kharagpur, in the eastern part of India. Initially the IIT started functioning from 5, Esplanade East, Calcutta and very soon shifted to Hijli in Sept. 1950. The present name 'Indian Institute of Technology' was adopted before the formal inauguration of the Institute on August 18, 1951, by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. IIT Kharagpur started its journey in the old Hijli Detention Camp where some of our great freedom fighters toiled and sacrificed their lives for the independence of our country. The history of IIT Kharagpur is thus intimately linked with the history of the Hijli Detention Camp. This is possibly one of the very few Institutions all over the world which started life in a prison house. 
The district of Midnapore along with rest of Bengal and India took part in a very significant way in the revolutionary struggle against the British Raj from the early 20th century.

About College:

In order to meet the growing demand for management education the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal with the help of a donation from Narsee Monjee Educational Trust established a recognized Management institute of the Mumbai University in 1981.

Since then NMIMS has grown into a flourishing University offering courses / programs across various disciplines such as Management Technology Science Pharmacy  Architecture Commerce and Economics.
