About College:

Rani Durgavati was born on 5th October 1524 A.D. in the family of famous Chandel emperor Keerat Rai. She was born at the fort of Kalanjar(Banda, U.P.). Chandel Dynasty is famous in the Indian History for the valiant king Vidyadhar who repulsed the attacks of Mehmood Gaznavi. His love for sculptures is shown in the world famed temples of Khajuraho and Kalanjar fort. Rani Durgavati's achievements further enhanced the glory of her ancestral tradition of courage and patronage of arts.

In 1542, she was married to Dalpatshah, the eldest son of king Sangramshah of Gond Dynasty. Chandel and Gond dynasties got closer as a consequence of this marriage and that was the reason Keerat Rai got the help of Gonds and his son-in-law Dalpatshah at the time of invasion of Shershah Suri in which Shershah Suri died.

She gave birth to a son in 1545 A.D. who was named Vir Narayan. Dalpatshah died in about 1550 A.D. As Vir Narayan was too young at that time, Durgavati took the reins of the Gond kingdom in her hands. Two ministers Adhar Kayastha and Man Thakur helped the Rani in looking after the administration successfully and effectively. Rani moved her capital to Chauragarh in place of Singaurgarh. It was a fort of strategic importance situated on the Satpura hill range.

After the death of Shershah, Sujat Khan captured the Malwa zone and was succeeded by his son Bajbahadur in 1556 A.D. (Bajbahadur is famous in history for his tumultus love affair with Rani Roopmati). After ascending to the throne, he attacked Rani Durgavati but the attack was repulsed with heavy losses to his army. This defeat effectively silenced Bajbahadur and the victory brought name and fame for Rani Durgavati.

In the year 1562 Akbar vanquished the Malwa ruler Baj Bahadur and annexed the Malwa with Mughul dominion. Consequently, the state boundary of Rani touched the Mughal kingdom.

Rani's contemporary Mughul Subedar was Abdul Mazid Khan, an ambitious man who vanquished Ramchandra, the ruler of Rewa. Prosperity of Rani Durgavati's state lured him and he invaded Rani's state after taking permission from Mughul emperor. This plan of Mughul invasion was the result of expansionism and imperialism of Akbar.

About College:

The National Institute of Ayurveda was established on 7th February 1976 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The Institute is first of its kind in India having a national character and international repute with the following Aims and Objectives:

1.      To promote the Growth and Development of Ayurveda.

2.       To produce Graduates and Post-Graduates in all Branches of Ayurveda.

3.      To conduct Research on various aspects of Ayurveda

4.      To provide Medical Care through Ayurvedic Systems of Medicine to the suffering humanity.

5.      To provide and assist in providing service and facilities of highest order for Research, Evolution, Training, Consultation and Guidance to Ayurvedic System of Medicine.

6.      To conduct Experiments and develop Patterns of Teaching Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Education in all branches of Ayurveda.

NIA is an apex Institute under the Department of AYUSH for promoting the growth and development of Ayurveda as a model Institute for evolving high standards of teaching, training, research and patient care and also to invoke scientific outlook to the knowledge of Ayurvedic System of Medicine. The Institute, an Autonomous Body under Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, is registered under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act, 1958.

The erstwhile Government Ayurvedic College of Jaipur of the Govt. of Rajasthan was merged to form the Institute. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of the then Government Ayurvedic College of Jaipur and also the teaching staff of Government Ayurvedic College of Udaipur were screened for absorption in the Institute. Those staff recommended by the Screening Committee and approved by the Governing Body were finally absorbed in the Institute.

The City of Jaipur was established 238 years back and by linking with it, the Institute has a glorious tradition of about 145 years when the Department of Ayurveda was started in 1865 in the Maharaja Sanskrit College, Jaipur which gained popularity as the "Jaipur School of Thought". An independent AyurvedicCollege was established in August 1946 by the Government of Rajasthan and this College was merged to form NIA in February 1976. This was one of the very few Ayurvedic Colleges in the country to introduce Post-Graduate Education in Ayurveda as early as in 1970.

After its establishment in 1976, the Institute had grown tremendously in the field of Teaching, Training, Research, Patient Care etc. as a result of which it has now 14 Specialties for PG Course and 9 Specialties for Fellowship Program leading to Ph.D., apart from the Graduate Course and a Diploma Course in AYUSH Nursing & Pharmacy. In the coming years, more Branches will be introduced for Post-Graduate Education and also for Fellowship Programs.

A candidate who has passed the secondary (10th) Examination from the board of secondary Education, Rajasthan, Ajmer or an equivalent examination recognized by there to shall be eligible for the admission to the said course.  

Minimum age for admission: - No candidate shall be admitted to the said course unless he has attained the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December, 2017 of the year of admission.

Admission Procedure: Admission shall be made in order to merit on the basis of marks secured at the qualifying examination, provided that reservation of seats belonging to S.T., O.B.C. and physically handicapped etc. Eligible candidate shall be made as per rules prescribed by the Institute from time to time.

Examination:

There will be one theory and one practical examination after the completion of the course.  

A candidate who has attended a regular course of study for three months in an affiliated

center and passed it shall be eligible for the certificate of Panchkarma attendant.

Agra has been renowned at the national and international levels as a centre for educational excellence, and industrial developments apart from tourist attraction. The city not only attracts foreign visitors for site-seeing but the industries like Leather, Foundry and Handicrafts also made it very popular across the globe.

Although the Footwear manufacturing in this area had started centuries before Indian independence, but the sector was not fully developed, as the basic infrastructure was not available at that time. It was actually beginning of sixties when the leather producers and other entrepreneurs thought of value addition to leather by converting it into footwear and other leather goods as the basic raw material i.e. leather was available in abundance. Although, the skilled workforce was available in plenty in some parts of the country, but there was acute shortage of managerial and the supervisory staff with technical qualifications. This was a severe problem and was acting as a major hindrance in the development of the footwear industry in the country. To overcome this problem, Government of India established "Central Footwear Training Centre, Agra" in July 1963, under Small Industries Development Organization, Ministry of Industry with financial assistance from Ford Foundation. The erstwhile Centre was well equipped with latest imported machines. The prime objective of the Centre was to provide young and technically sound personnel to the footwear industry and to upgrade the knowledge and skill of the existing staff.

Additions and necessary changes have been made in the infrastructure and management of the Centre from time to time. But with the rapid growth of the footwear industry in the country and with the introduction of modern machines in the industry, great need was felt by the centre to modernize its infrastructure. To cater the requirements of the industry, complete modern plant of the footwear manufacture was imported in the Year 1993, with financial assistance from United Nations Industrial Development Organization under National Leather Development Programme.

About College:

Established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (Section 25 of 2009), Central University of Bihar (CUB) is an institution of higher studies situated in the state of Bihar. With the motto, i.e. ‘Collective Reasoning’, the university has been organising its academic curriculum from temporary premises in Patna and Gaya.

As stated in Section 5 of the Act, the objective of the university shall be:

“... to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit; to make special provision for integrated courses in humanities, social sciences, science and technology in its educational programmes; to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-learning process and inter-disciplinary studies and research; to educate and train manpower for the development of the country; to establish linkages with industries for the promotion of science and technology; and to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people, their intellectual, academic and cultural development."
