National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.

The vision of the late legendary, Padmashree Dr N T Rama Rao, erstwhile Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, became a reality when 'The Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences, first of its kind, was established in 1986 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, with Vijayawada as Headquarters. The ATMA online exam will be held in January 2018. ATMA is conducted for taking admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programs offered at various Institutes/Universities for the academic session 2018

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification required to attend the ATMA is graduation from any recognised institute. There is no restriction for minimum marks or any particular stream of study.

The minimum age limit for taking the test is 21 years

Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted in both modes, i.e. online and offline (pen & paper). It is a computer based multiple-choice question type exams. Each question will have 4 choices or options, out of which you have to choose 1 correct option

The duration of ATMA is 180 minutes or 3 hours; there are 3 areas which are divided into six sections. This means that each area will have 2 sections each

The testing areas are Analytical Reasoning Skills, Verbal Skills and Quantitative Skills; each section has 30 questions, making the total number of questions 180

For each correct answer, 1 mark is given and for each incorrect answer 0.25 mark is deducted from the score

How to Prepare for ATMA 2018 MBA Entrance exam

Most of the candidates (graduates or final year graduate course) who appear for ATMA may have taken other tests that aim at selection for management education or studied for similar tests

The preparation for ATMA should not be similar to that of College and University Exams. However, familiarity with aptitude tests, diligence and regular preparation can improve the speed. AIMS does not recommend any particular preparatory course or training for ATMA, though these may be effective in varying degrees

Normally, ATMA is conducted in about 30 Cities in India. The following ATMA Test centre are: Ahmedabad (Gandhi Nagar), Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, New Delhi, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolhapur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Nagur, Nasik, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi and Thane.

The Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities was established as a trust in the year 1980 with its official address at Museum road, Governorpet, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – 520 002 and started K L College of Engineering in the Academic year 1980-81. The trust was converted into a Society   by the name Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation in the year 1996. About College:

The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) was established in 1964 for the study of issues and policies relating to public enterprises (PEs).  Shri.S.S Khera, ICS, the then Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, had conceived the idea of a research institution that would undertake a systematic and sustained study of issues relevant to the formulation of policies towards public enterprises. In the early sixties, when PEs were designed as the principal instrument to serve the social and economic objectives of development, Shri. Khera felt that there was need for an institute which would collect relevant information and documents on PEs, study specific issues and undertake consultancy and training exclusively for PEs. Dr.V.V. Ramanadham, the then Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce, Osmania University, translated Shri Khera’s concept into a reality that is IPE, with the active support and guidance provided by the late Dr. D. S Reddy, then Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University as an autonomous, non-profit society at the initiative of the then Cabinet Secretary to the Government of India, Shri S.S.Khera, ICS, and late Dr.D.S.Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University. The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, recognized the Institute as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in social science research in 1976.  The Institute is partly funded by the ICSSR and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The Institute is located in a picturesque greenwood area at Hyderabad in Osmania University Campus. Over the last 40 years, the Institute has widened the area of its work. Starting with research, the Institute soon found itself having to undertake consultancy for PEs and responding to the training needs of the executives of PEs and various educational programmes. 

The Institute became a pioneer in the field of computerization, assisting the Government of Andhra Pradesh and several other states in formulation of computerization policy, developing software for PEs and public systems, and on the use of computers as a decision support system.

The educational programmes of the Institute have their basic foundation in the various research, training and consultancy activities undertaken by the Institute for public and private organizations/industries over the last four decades. The programmes are the natural extension of the educational activities of the Institute from the short term management education to the long-term one and have lead to vertical integration of the research function. The insights into management education began in 1981 with the commencement of a 3-year part time MBA (PE) programme for practicing managers. In the year 1995, the Institute started a two-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM), recognized as equivalent to MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), to provide skilled human resources to meet the requirements of the Industry.
