In the meeting of BOG MDI held on 11th October, 2010, the board had discussed the proposal regarding expansion of MDI in the eastern and southern part of the country. It was informed to the Board during the meeting that the Govt. of West Bengal is setting up a Food Park in JANGIPUR, West Bengal on PPP model and is willing to allot 10 to 12 acres of land to MDI for setting up educational institute.

Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM)

Eligibility:

·         The candidates must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII.

·         The candidate must have minimum 3 year’s Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent examination) and completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree by 30th June, 2019 can also apply, subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by 1st October, 2019; otherwise they may be asked to withdraw from the programme.

Selection Process

Candidates who have appeared for the CAT (2018) will be short listed on the basis of the details filled in the application form and their CAT scores. Only the shortlisted candidates will then be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interviews during February and March 2019 at one of the centres, viz. Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai (centres other than Gurgaon are tentative).

NOTE: Applicants have to fill single application form. The preferences of PGPM will be taken only from the shortlisted candidates in the month of January/ February 2019. The National Institute of Design (NID) offers 4-years Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Program at Ahmedabad and 2½ years Master of Design (M.Des) Program at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar; Bengaluru Campuses and Graduate Diploma Program in Design - GDPD - 4 years at Vijayawada & Kurukshetra.

Note: The National Institute of Design has authorized the All India Management Association, New Delhi, to process all its applications for the M.Des., B.Des. and GDPD programmes.

Age Limit

Exams considered equivalent to these are as follows:

Of the seats available for the M.Des, 15% supernumerary seats have been created for overseas applicants.

Design Aptitude Test (DAT)

All candidates applying for B.Des, GDPD and M.Des Programs and having made the necessary payment for registration online will be called for the Design Aptitude Test

The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims primarily evaluates each candidate on the following abilities:

·         Knowledge

·         Analysis

·         Comprehension

·         Creativity

·         Visualisation

DAT Prelims will consist of two parts:

Part I: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) marked out of 70 points. The responses of this part will be recorded on an OMR sheet and evaluated digitally

Part II: Subjective questions marked out of 30 points, with responses to be provided in visual and/or written formats. The Design Aptitude Test (Prelims) will include an examination of three hours duration

This will be a pen-and-paper test.

The question paper will be in English. All questions are compulsory.

There will be no negative marking.

DAT Mains 2019 Exam Pattern

DAT Mains 2019 will consist of tests in different formats such as drawing/sketching, hands-on model making, group discussions, presentations, etc.

These will be marked out of 100 points and will be conducted in English

NID DAT Merit List 2019

Based on the scores obtained in the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), separate NID DAT 2019 Merit Lists will be prepared for each category (Open, OBC-NCL, SC, ST &PwD). Based on the merit list of DAT Prelims, eligible candidates will have to appear for DAT Mains

The number of candidates shortlisted will be no less than three times the number of seats available per category in that discipline or program. The final merit lists for the B.Des. programs will be generated category wise, based on the sum total of the weighted scores obtained by the candidate at each stage of the admission process

Diploma Programme on Panchayati Raj Governance & Rural Development (DP-PRGRD) First Batch

Eligibility:

Weightage in selection would be given only on the basis of certificates and transcripts that are attached. The candidates selected for admission will intimated by post. The list of selected candidate will also be displayed on the NIRD&PR website. Only the applicants who pay the fees within the stipulated date are treated as admitted. Verification of all the original certificates will be done at the time of contact classes. Candidates will be permitted to appear for the term-end examination only after the verification of relevant original certificates, until then their admission will be provisional.

Programme Fee

The fee of the One Year Diploma Programme on Panchayati Raj Governance and Rural Development is Rs 10000/- (Rs. Ten Thousand only). Candidates admitted have to pay the relevant fee in two equal instalments or in one lump-sum within the prescribed date mentioned in the Admission Offer Letter. Realizing the potentialities and needs of modernization of the plantation sector through management education and training, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India constituted a core group in 1990 to set up a strategic institution of management education in the plantation sector. IIPM envisaged as a centre of excellence, to act as a think tank and an intellectual resource base for the plantation and associated agri-business sector. The Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) located in Bhubaneswar has been brought under the fold of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in August 2002. The institute was earlier under the administrative and financial control of Department of Science and Technology, Government of Orissa. Eligibility:

1.    Candidates should have passed their M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.Pharm./ M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in life sciences and allied subjects (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Chemistry/ Microbiology, etc.) with minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent grade point). Programming/scripting experience would be a plus for candidates interested in Bioinformatics. Candidates awaiting final results may also apply, however, if shortlisted, they have to produce their final mark sheet on the date of the interview, failing which they will not be interviewed.

2.    Candidates should have also qualified in CSIR/UGC-JRF or DBT-JRF or DBT-BINC-JRF or UGCRGNF or ICMR-JRF or DST-INSPIRE or GATE or GPAT. If the original certificate is not available, the candidate has to provide a photocopy of the original admit card and the particular result page highlighting their roll number, along with the application.

3.    The candidate should be below 28 years in age, as on 24th December, 2018. An age relaxation of five years in the case of SC/ST/women/PH candidates and three years in the case of OBC candidates will be given (as per Govt. of India rules).

·         Before filling the ON-LINE application form, candidate is requested to read the following instructions carefully.

ON-LINE Application

To apply online, applicants must create an account using a valid email-id. This account will remain valid from the time of account creation till one month after the date of declaration of results, for that year. Email-ids are linked to the created account as well as  to the application, and will be used for all communications with the applicants. The Osmania University, established in 1918, is the seventh oldest in the country, third oldest in South India and the first to be established in the princely State of Hyderabad.  Though the need for a university for the Hyderabad State was felt, both by the intelligentsia and the people for a long time, the initiative came from a civil servant, Sir Akbar Hydari, who was then the Home Secretary to the State Government.  Sir Akbar, in a Memorandum to the Education Minister in early 1917, emphasized the need to establish a University for Hyderabad with ‘Urdu’ as the medium of instruction “as it is the language of the widest currency in India, official language of the State, and it is a language which is understood by a vast majority of the population of the State.”  He believed that higher education must have its foundations deep in the national consciousness.
