Institute of Technology, Nirma University, earlier known as Nirma Institute of Technology, started in 1995 by Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF), was the first self-financed engineering college in Gujarat. PhD (Full-Time and Part-Time) [PhD Programmes in the University are offered by the Faculty of Technology & Engineering, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Management , Faculty of Law and Faculty of Architecture]

Eligibility:

For Ph.D. (Full-Time and Part-Time Programme): Candidates for admission to the. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions..

Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.

How to Apply:

·         The Application Form Processing Fee for the Ph.D. Programme is Rs. 1250/- (non-refundable). The application will be considered complete only after payment of the Application Form Processing Fee through online mode.

·         The applicant who fulfills the necessary requirements can apply for the Ph.D. admissions in Full-Time, Part-Time, Part-Time (Visvesvaraya Scheme only for Technology & Engineering) or all the categories. Those who are applying for all the three categories will have to pay the processing fee of Rs. 1250/- + Rs. 1250/-+1250/- = Total Rs. 3750/

The Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing is a pioneer institute for nursing education in India and South East Asian region offering basic and higher education programmes. It is controlled financially by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and academically affiliated to University of Delhi as Department of Nursing under faculty of science. The primary objective of the College is to provide and promote education and research in the field of nursing. The College was established in 1946 and initially B.Sc. (Hons.) Applications are invited for admission to Master of Nursing Course 2 years Commencing form 20th July, 2019.

The candidate must have passed the B.Sc. (H) Nursing Examination (12+4) years of the University of Delhi or a degree recognized as equivalent there to with atleast 55% marks in the aggregate and completed one year experience in Nursing in a hospital/Specialty Institute/educational institution or public health agency. The experience will be calculated up to the 22nd March, 2019 the basis of selection for admission is given in the prospectus. Selection test will be held on 28th April, 2019 (Sunday) at 10.00 a.m.

Names of the selected candidates will be put on the college notice board and website on the dates as declared in the prospectus. No Correspondence/Telephonic information in this connection will be entertained.

Detailed criteria set by individual departments for PhD admissions:

Department of Biological Sciences: The applicant should have a Masters degree/B.Tech/ MBBS/ M.Tech with a good academic record (at least 60% and above) and should be GATE/CSIR or UGC-NET/ JEST/ NBHM-JRF/ GPAT/ ICMR-JRF/ DBT-JRF/DBT-BINC/ICAR-NET/DST- INSPIRE qualified in the relevant subject.

Department of Chemical Sciences: The applicant should have M. Sc./MS degree in Chemistry/ Physics or equivalent with at least 55% marks for General and OBC candidates, and 50% for SC/ST and persons with Disability (PwD), and should have a valid NET/ GATE/ DST-Inspire/equivalent national level fellowship.

Department of Mathematical Sciences: The applicant must have qualified one of the following examinations GATE/CSIR-UGC-NET/NBHM-JRF with Mathematics as the primary subject. Applicants who have obtained the DST-INSPIRE fellowship must have taken Mathematics as their primary subject during their Master's programme. Only applicants with an outstanding academic record and exceptional qualifications will be considered for admission.

Department of Physical Sciences: The applicant should have a Masters degree in Physics or a Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering, and should have a valid GATE/ CSIR-UGC-NET-JRF/ JEST/ DST-Inspire fellowship in Physics. The student must have a good academic record in M.Sc. (minimum 55% for General and OBC category, minimum 50% for SC/ST/PD.)

Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences: The applicant should have M.Sc./ B.Tech/ M. Tech in Atmospheric Sciences/ Earth and Environmental Sciences/Geology/Chemistry/Physics/Environmental Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biotechnology and should have a valid GATE/ CSIR-UGC-NET/ DST-Inspire fellowship.

Department of Humanities and Social Sciences: The PhD applicant should have M.A./M.Sc./M.Phil degree (minimum 55% for General and OBC category, minimum 50% for SC/ST/PD.) in one or more of the following subjects: Philosophy (Ethics, Indian Philosophy, Analytical Philosophy and Philosophy of Science)/ Sociology /Anthropology/ Palaeoanthropology / Archaeology / Ancient Indian History / Modern Indian History / Urban History / Political Economy / Gender Studies /Urban Studies /English Literature/Postmodernism/ Literary Theory/Science-in-theatre or related areas such as Development Studies, South Asian studies. The genesis of the National Archives of India may be traced back to the year 1860 when Sandeman, the Civil Auditor, in his report stressed the need of relieving the offices of congestion by destruction of the papers of routine nature and transfer of all valuable records to a ‘Grand Central Archive’. However, things took a concrete shape in 1889, when Professor G.W. Forrest of Elphinstone College, Bombay was entrusted the job of examining the records of the Foreign Department of the Government of India. Earlier, he had earned reputation as an Archivist for his work in the Bombay Records Office. In his report, he made a strong plea for transferring all records of the administration of East India Company to a Central Repository. As a result, Imperial Records Department (IRD) came into existence on 11 March 1891 which was located in Imperial Secretariat Building at Calcutta (Kolkata). Professor G.W Forrest was made its Officer in Charge. His main task was to examine, transfer, arrange and catalogue records of all the Departments and to organise a Central Library in place of various Departmental Libraries. After G.W. Forrest, the work at Imperial Records Department (IRD) progressed well under S.C. Hill (1900), C.R. Wilson (1902), N.L. Hallward (1904), E. Denison Ross (1905), A.F. Scholfield (1915), R.A. Blaker (1919), J.M. Mitra (1920) and Rai Bahadur A.F.M. Abdul Ali (1922-1938) who were scholars as well as Records Keepers in their own right.
