Course Name:

BBA (Tourism & Travel)

Eligibility:

1) Candidates seeking admission in BBA (TT) programme shall be required to possess 10+2 examinations in any subject from a recognized University / Board with at least 50% marks (45% marks for SC / ST). Candidates appearing in final year examination of 10+ 2 are also eligible to apply, subject to they must submit their result of graduation with the requisite percentage of marks by October 31, 2018, failing which their admission will be cancelled and course fee deposited in the institute, will also be forfeited. (In this regards, the student must submit an affidavit on nonjudicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- ).

2) Appear in written test “IGNTU IITTM Admission Test (IIAT)” to be conducted by IGNTU & IITTM. Admission Test will be held on June 9, 2019 (Sunday) (tentative) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at IITTM centres (i.e. Gwalior, Bhubaneswar, Noida & Nellore) and the other centers shortlisted, which will be notified later. The candidate has to write their answers on OMR Sheet. It will be an objective type test with four options of nearest answers carrying 100 questions / 100 marks [General Awareness (50 Marks), Verbal ability (25 Marks) and Quantitative ability (25 marks)]. One mark for each right answer and no negative marking for wrong answer.

3) Group Discussion And Personal Interview:

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for GD and PI at any one of the IITTM centres, which they have to mark in the admission form:

Eligibility:

1) Candidates seeking admission to MBA (TTM) programme shall be required to possess a Bachelor degree from a recognized Indian or foreign university (as per the AIU foreign equivalence list) having secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in case of General and OBC categories and 45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are eligible to apply.

Note: If the seats reserved for SC/ST remain vacant then the same will be filled by the SC/ST candidates who appear for entrance exam irrespective of their ranking in the exam.

Eligibility:

Candidates who have obtained a degree in B.Sc., in the discipline of Zoology / Botany / Life Sciences / Medical Laboratory Technology / Microbiology /Ecology/ Environmental Science / Biochemistry, or B.V.Sc., or M.B.B.S., or B.E., / B.Tech., degree with Biotechnology as one of the subjects from any University, accepted as equivalent by the academic council of the Pondicherry University, Puducherry with any of the specified groups of options shall be permitted to appear and qualify for the M.Sc. Public Health Entomology degree examination in non-clinical subjects under the School of Medical Sciences after a course of study of two academic years. A minimum of 50% mark is essential for General/Unreserved/OBC and 40% for SC/ST candidates in their Under Graduate Degree examination, the qualifying examination for admission to the course. The requirement for differently-abled candidates will depend on the category they belong to.

Criteria for Admission

Category I: Open Competition

Candidates seeking admission under this category should have passed any one of the following examinations of any University accepted by the Academic Council of Pondicherry University, Puducherry - B.Sc., in the discipline of Zoology / Botany / Life Sciences / Medical Laboratory Technology / Microbiology / Ecology / Environmental Science / Biochemistry, or B.V.Sc., or M.B.B.S., or B.E., / B.Tech., degree with Biotechnology as one of the subjects.

Category II: In-service (Self supporting / Sponsored)

A. Indian Nationals

In-service candidates employed either in Government or Non-government agencies and sponsored by the employer should have passed the Degree examination in any of the disciplines indicated under Category I from a recognized University. The in-service candidates without sponsorship should send their application with a "No Objection Certificate” from their employer.

B. Foreign Nationals

The applicants under this category possessing qualification as mentioned under the Category I or the qualification for which Equivalent Certificate obtained from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and Eligibility Certificate from Pondicherry University are eligible to apply. Applications of in-service self supporting as well as sponsored/nominated foreign applicants should be routed through the employer or sponsoring/nominating authority/organization. These applicants will be admitted only with valid student visa for the entire duration of the study.

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT)  is an autonomous body of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India. c) Candidates should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the engineering degree examination. For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the engineering degree course is sufficient. For SEBC/PWD candidates, a minimum of 54% (aggregate) marks in the Engineering Degree examination is mandatory.

d) Admission shall normally be restricted to those candidates who have a valid GATE Score.

e) The eligible branches of engineering for each M.Tech are given under the respective program.

I. Electronics & Communication Engineering (Embedded Systems)

·         Electrical and Electronics

·         Applied Electronics and Instrumentation/ Instrumentation and Control

g) Candidates who have passed AMIE/AMIETE Examination in Electronics and satisfying the following conditions are also eligible for admission.

I.             They must have a valid GATE score

II.           A Minimum marks of 55% in section B in AMIE/AMIETE Examination

III.          Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the field of specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree.

h) Candidates who have appeared for the final semester examination may also apply provided he / she has passed all the subjects up to and including the 6th semester. Those who are having valid GATE score and who are waiting for the result of the supplementary examinations of the above or previous semesters can also apply. Confirmation of admission of such candidates shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree -satisfying clauses (a) to (d) as applicable on or before September 2, 2019. Such candidates may be considered for provisional admission. How to Apply:

Information on Submission of Applications:

The Candidates are required to apply online through the website. They are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID and a mobile number. They should be kept active till the completion of the programme, if admission is granted. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, she/he should create a new e-mail ID before applying online. Candidates are required to upload their recent photograph and signature. Before applying online a candidate is required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph and signature. Candidates can pay the application fee through Bank Challan. The Bank Challan is generated after filling the online application form and she/he can deposit the fees in the following University‟s account Number. State Bank of India through any nationalized Bank (NEFT mode) on the next working day. One day after the payment is made the candidate can take the print out of the application form by using the username and password. The applicants are requested to submit the application forms and required documents to the University at the time of admission.

a. Age: Maximum age limit is 28 years as on July 1, 2019. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years for reserved category candidates (SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) and female applicants) and 3 years for OBC – Non-creamy layer candidates.

b. Educational qualifications and fellowship requirements:

The candidate must fulfil one of the following criteria:

Group A: must have qualified in the junior research fellowship examination of CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT (category I only), BINC (for bioinformatics & computer science) or NBHM which provides fellowship for the entire duration (5 years) of their PhD program.

·         Should have a Master’s degree in any branch of biomedical/life sciences (including veterinary science, public health), bioinformatics, computer science or Mathematics from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or its equivalent (e.g.: grade B in the UGC 7-point scale) or a B Tech in Biotechnology.

Group B: Should have a MBBS or BE/B Tech (Computer Science/biotechnology/biomedical engineering) or post-graduate degree in life sciences, or Mathematics from a recognized university/institute with at least 55% marks or its equivalent along with a valid GATE qualifying score.

Candidates appearing in the final qualifying examination may also apply. However, they will be required to fulfil the above academic/ fellowship requirements at the time of joining the PHD program on 1st of July 2019.

A relaxation in marks/grade during Master’s Degree for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and any other categories will be applicable as per the UGC notification, 5th May 2016 or subsequent notification in effect of at the time of interview.

Selection procedure:

Names of shortlisted candidates will be announced on our website by 17th May 2019. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for an admission test at THSTI on the 3rd of June at 9:30 am. Applicants who clear the admission test will be interviewed on 3rd and 4th June 2019. Final selection will be made based on the applicant’s performance in the interview and the list of selected candidates will be published on the THSTI website within one working week of the interview.

Fellowship: Students from group A recommended for admission to the PhD program and holding fellowship from any of the above agencies will be required to utilize their own fellowship. Students selected from Group B will be awarded THSTI fellowships equivalent to the CSIR-UGC Fellowship amount.

No. of seats: A total of up to 20 candidates may be selected this year, if found suitable. The number of selected candidates may be less if sufficient candidates do not secure the minimum credentials required for admission.

Reservations: 27% seats for OBC (non-creamy layer), 15% of seats for SC, 7.5% of seats for ST, 3% of seats for differently-abled and 10% for EWS are reserved for candidates belonging to these categories. SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates are required to submit certificates in respect of their claims from authorized officers as notified by the Government for the purpose from time to time. The differently-abled (with minimum 40% disability) candidates are required to submit a certificate from authorized Medical Doctors/Hospitals indicating the extent of physical disability.

Fees: Admission fees, annual fees, registration fees or any other fees levied by JNU shall be payable by the student.

Hostel: Selected students will have the option of shared hostel accommodation in lieu of their HRA.
