Selection Procedure

Admission to General Category

The selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the prescribed subjects reduced to 200 (Mathematics - 100, Physics + Chemistry - 100) in the qualifying exam

Normalisation of Marks and Inter-se Merit

·         As per Tamil Nadu the marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying exam conducted by various Boards or Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying exam conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu by adopting the method of normalization

·         If the highest mark secured by the student of State Board of Tamil Nadu in Physics is 100 and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject are 90 both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100

·         If a student of the other Board secures 60 marks in Physics when the first mark in Physics in the same Board is 90, 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66 marks

·         In the case of candidates who have qualified from National Boards such as CBSE, ISCE etc. the highest mark obtained in the relevant subject by the candidates at the National Level alone will be taken into consideration for normalization

·         A merit list will be prepared based on the total mark of 200

·         The overall rank and Community wise rank lists will be published in Anna University website. Separate announcement will not be given in Newspapers.

Admission of Vocational Stream Candidates

·         100 seats in Category I and 4% of seats surrendered in Category II have been set apart vide G.O. (Ms.) No. 290 HE (J2) Dept. dt.: 21st Aug. 2007 for the HSC (vocational stream) candidates

·         The academic marks in the prescribed subjects will be reduced to 200 (Related subject 100 marks, vocational subject including theory and practical 100 marks)

Admission to Sandwich Courses

·         Sandwich courses in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Production Engineering are offered at PSG College of Technology under self-financing scheme; the duration of the course is 5 years; it comprises of practical training in the mornings and class work in the evenings

·         Admission to MSW Program is open to graduates (12+3) of any Indian or Foreign Recognised University

·         Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination (bachelor's degree exam) in April/May 2018 and are waiting for the results are also eligible for 1st year M.S.W.

·         However, the admission of such students will be confirmed only after producing the original passing certificate within three months from the date of admission

Intake

The intake of admission to MSW Program is 60 at the Pune Centre & 60 (30 seats aided & 30 seats unaided) at the Solapur Centre
The Fees & Other Charges: 

·         The MSW Program is conducted on Grant-in-Aid-basis by the Commissionerate of Social Welfare (Govt. of Maharashtra). The total amount of fees for 1st year will be of Rs.11600/- for the students of Maharashtra domicile

·         This includes Tuition Fees, Field Work, Library Fee, and Student Aid Fund. The students have to pay fees for Seminar/Workshops/Study Tour separately

·         The students SC/ST/OBC/VJNT/SBC etc are not eligible for the Govt. of India scholarship

 Selection of Specialization:

·         The students provisionally selected for M.S.W. Part I Class will have to undergo an Aptitude Test (50 marks)

IIST is Asia’s first Space Institute and the first in the world to offer the complete range of undergraduate, post graduate, doctoral programmes with specific focus to space science, technology and applications.

This unique concept took root in January 2007, when IIST was registered as a Society under the Travancore -Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955. Applicants should make sure that they satisfy the criteria given below for applying for admission to B. Tech and the Dual degree program in IIST 

Citizenship: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for admission in IIST 

Date of Birth: Candidates belonging to General category (GEN) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1993. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PD) categories must have born on or after October 1, 1988 

Qualifying Exam (10+2 or Equivalent): 
Candidates seeking admission to IIST should have passed their Qualifying Examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of the curriculum Candidates belonging to GEN & OBC categories must secure an aggregate of at least 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in the qualifying exam and those belonging to SC/ST/PD should have an aggregate of at least 65% marks in PCM subjects in the qualifying examination 

The Qualifying Exam should be any of the following: 
(a) The final exam of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as CBSE, New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Exam (ISCE),New Delhi, etc.

The Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) has been established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi as an autonomous institute, under the Societies act.

Candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree/Diploma or its equivalent, recognized by an Indian University or Association of Indian Universitits wih the minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PD) in aggregate in the field of Science/Engineering/Management and related Social Sciences (as decided by equivalence committee of the Institute). Those appearing in the final year of Post Graduation examination can also apply, provide they complete the eligibility criteria

Seats: The total number of seats available is 20; out of which maximum of 10 seats will be filled y in-service officers from Indian Forest Service, State Forest Services, Group A officers or equivalent from Govt. Departments/Public Sector & Representatives from NGOs with minimum three years of experience in fields related to Natural Resource Management. Remaining 10 seats shall be filled by other eligible candidates.

Reservation: Reservation of seats will be applicable to the candidates as per the prevailing Government of India norms.

Selection Process: For in-service officers, the application should be forwarded through proper channel which will be screened at the Institute for direct interview. Candidates possessing UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET certificate or PGDFM from IIFM with a minimum of 3.0 OGPA shall also be exempted from written test and will be directly called for interview. Others have to qualify a written test conducted y the Institute. The cutoff score of the test will be decided by the Institute and shall have three components namely English Ability, Analytical Ability and Natural Resource Management Aptitude.
